Servers suck

The problem isn't the servers, it's your connection. You should check your NAT by pressing Start and going to the Network Settings. If it's not set to "Open" you're going to have some difficulties. If your connection is set to "Moderate" or "Closed" you'll have to open it back up. I rarely ever need to do this, so I'm not exactly well educated in how to go about the whole process, but that's what you're going to have to do.
