  1. 2k Games has launched a trailer for the DLC expansion 'Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty' worldwide, for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Read below for more details Source: Computerandvideogames.com The publisher says: "In Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty, up to four players cooperatively enter the hostile sand dunes and wastelands of Pirate Bay in search of ancient treasures. "The add-on content campaign features new characters, including the eccentric and eager Shade; locations such as the town of Oasis; enemies including the Sand Pirates and Anchormen; and special weapons and loot that make it a must-play experience." Gearbox previously announced plans to release four Borderlands 2 DLC campaign add-ons, which will retail individually for $9.99. 3. The newly hyped title from the hit underground game franchise LittleBigPlanet, announced at E3, has been confirmed for PS3 along with PS4! LittleBigPlanet3, shown off at Sony's E3 2014 Conference, looks to be incredibly next generation with colourful graphics, a gorgeous visual style, and overall fun mechanics, but it seems this supposed 'Next Gen' title might not be so exclusive to the PlayStation 4. According to a developer on the game, Steven Isbell, on his Twitter.com account, LittleBigPlanet3 will be making it's way to PS3, with "more news on that later." A counter to this however is that no Pre-Order page has been put up for a PlayStation 3 version, only a PS4 version. But this does make sense with the inter-connectivity to the other two games and how they mentioned maps do carry over, and it would make the transition more seamless for sure. However the real question here is whether this is a step backwards for the game as a whole, as the PS3 could limit the game from being truly a 'Next Gen' game. While LittleBigPlanet has always had a beautiful visual style, certain issues did pop up on the PS3 in regards to connection and the overall gameplay experience, on the PlayStation 4, these issues could be avoided. They have said that graphics were going to be updated, and had no word on these other issues, further progressing the fear. View attachment: LBPlogo.png What do you think, do you want LittleBigPlanet on as many platforms as possible, or is this holding the game back technically? Let me know below, thanks for reading!

  6. Thought that Halo 4 or Gears of war 3 had the best graphics? Well think again as they might be getting kicked of their throne as Crysis 3 may be taking the lead. More details below Source: Examiner In an interview with VideoGamer on Tuesday, Cevat Yerli talked a little bit about the graphics of the upcoming multiplatform title, “Crysis 3.” The CEO of Crytek boasts that no other Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 video game, not even “Halo” or “Gears of War,” look as good technically as the first-person shooter on consoles. "No game will ever look technically better than Crysis 3 on these consoles, flat out. Most games are not even anywhere near Crysis 2 technically. I'm not talking about art style – art is subjective – but the pure fact of what we have been cramming in with Crysis 2 on Xbox [360] and PlayStation [3], I've yet to see a game do that still today. Any day I will take a battle against Gears and Halo, whatever, the amount of data we put in and the detail level is far superior. With Crysis 3 we're pushing that to another level, but the PC is just two levels beyond." View slideshow: ‘Crysis 3’ graphics compared to ‘Halo’ and ‘Gears of War’ “Crysis 3” is currently being developed by Crytek Frankfurt, the same studio responsible for the previous games in the series in addition to the original “Far Cry.” Crytek UK (previously known as Free Radical Design, the studio behind “Haze” and “TimeSplitters”) worked on the multiplayer portion of the video game. “Crysis 3” is slated to come out for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms in North America on Feb. 19, 2013. You can pre-order the first-person shooter in the following link: “Crysis 3”
  7. It was announced today by Bungie that they had set the release date for Destiny for September 9th 2014. Below is an excerpt from the Bungie Weekly Update for 12/6/2013 and a news article from the site. Relevance of the Date The date falls almost 9 months to the day from this day.It is the 9th day of the 9th month of the year. This is a Tuesday in the second week of the month. There will be a full moon on that date. There appears to be no relevance with the date other than that unless there is some 'in house' reasoning for selecting it. It falls well before the shopping period for the Holidays and after the summer break for schools. Update excerpt This week, we set that date in stone: September 9th, 2014. In an interview with the community back in 2001, Jason Jones once lamented the inexorable tick of the clock. More recently, he reminded our studio just how valuable the coming months will be, and challenged the team to make every second of Destiny development count. It’s an exciting time to be at Bungie. The stage is set, and we’re going to make these moments matter. We believe Destiny will be worth the wait, and we’re anxious for the chance to prove it to you. News Article Since then, Destiny has continued to reveal its promise. Every new build brings us closer to our original vision. With those goals in sight, we intend to use every moment from now until the release of the game to ensure that Destiny lives up to your expectations, and our own. Today, in partnership with Activision, we are proud to announce that the worldwide launch of Destiny will happen on September 9th. Accordingly, the Destiny Beta will kick off in the summer of 2014, available first on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. The early support and enthusiasm for Destiny has been inspiring and humbling. We believe this is the right decision for our game, our studio, and our passionate community. Thank you for coming along with us on this adventure. See you starside.
