  7. Thanks CHa0s! I'm REALLY happy with how Fracture turned out, as it's beginnings were a little... flat. I'm aslo surprised with how Diocese seemed to summon memories of Construct, yet in it's own unique way. I really appreciate all the testing assistance you've provided for these maps, I couldn't have done it without you!
  8. Thanks Chron! Actually, you can jump up off the Y-Cross barriers in between them, and there is a ramp that goes above the teleporter at each base.

  10. I'm putting them out in hopes it gets attention enough that someone may volunteer to mod them. I've been hearing rumor that the mod community has kinda gone dark. Nobody's getting responses to requests, I guess. Vitality has had some work done since you saw it last. Both blue side platforms gained some bulk for added LOS blocking, and the mantis area has also received a facelift. Because of these expansions, I could re-purpose some of the natural pieces better. As for Diocese, there have been changes made (I'm also redesigning Red side), and I'll be testing it again tonight. I moved the sniper to bottom purple next to the new lift that goes to top purple, rockets are top gold, OS is bottom gold, and there is a tele going to top blue. I'll inv ya if you're on.
  11. Thanks for taking the time to reply Omega. Good to hear Diocese caught your attention. As for the others, is the flat terrain a turn-off? I understand some aren't too keen on flat maps.
  12. This is just a teaser for my upcoming "Reclaimer Map Pack" featuring the maps Vitality, Fracture, and Diocese. All three maps are heavily Forerunner themed, and inspired by Halo CE campaign and multiplayer settings. Vitality Vitality is a remake of my Halo 3 Bungie Favorites map, Frailty. Located on the largest of Forge Island's anvils, Vitality has a scope and scale that handily dwarfs it's predecessor. Fracture Fracture has been in limbo for a few months as I worked on Vitality and Diocese. It was, for lack of a better term "finished", but I felt more testing was still needed. I am thrilled at how the Forerunner aesthetics came together, it really gives me that warm sense of nostalgia from CE. This was designed mainly as a 1-Flag and Team Slayer map, but also plays KOTH as well. Diocese Diocese was inspired from a single hallway, from a brief section of CE's campaign (also reappearing at the end of Halo 3). I, for some odd reason, felt compelled to integrate that scene into a map, and I'm pretty confident I succeeded. Diocese is influenced by campaign, and maps like Hang 'em High, and Damnation. While Diocese doesn't have any specific layouts or structures lifted from those maps, it does have multiple layers and lots of vertical elements that mirror it's source material. So that's the preview in a nutshell. Some fo the recent screenshots for Diocese didn't show up, and I didn't have time to take more to show off Red and Green areas. The maps are up on my fileshare right now, so feel free to give them a look over (better still, run some customs!) and let me know what you think. I'll be updating the maps as feedback comes in, and I'll make an official release when everything is set in stone. Thanks everyone!   13. Yup, and it's obnoxious. This becomes the point where forgers have to make choices between aesthetics or gameplay. Simplifying aesthetics, while disheartening, is probably where you'll free the space up. It's something we've been dealing with since H3. Good luck!

  19. Your detraction about Echelon is not a unique one. It has been expressed by a few others that were in my testing groups that I should've built it somewhere else. The good thing is that was the only bad thing about the map my testers brought forward. I wouldn't mind revisiting this map again down the road, but I would much rather have a prebuilt enclosed space to do it in (Reach's Colosseum for example).

  23. Here is a sampling of maps that are either in the testing phases, or under construction. Echelon Initially starting as a remake of Xenolith from Halo 3, I changed design direction early on to being mirrored symmetric instead of quad-symmetric. Suitable for mid-sized teams. Also set up for multiteam games. Supports Oddball, KotH, Slayer, Regicide, and CTF. There is also a one-flag version as well. Testing needed: Single/multi flag Blindside The beginning build was meant to be quad-symmetric. But, with a little coaxing from friends against this idea, I went with a quad-symmetric center, and mirrored symmetric outlying bases and structures. Suitable for teams of 5v5 or smaller. Multiteam is also available. Supports Oddball, KotH, Slayer, Regicide, and CTF. One-Flag variant also available. Testing needed: Single/multi flag Fracture All hail Forerunner thingies sticking out of rocks! This remake of my Halo 3 map Frailty is still in the building phases.
  24. Really the only thing 343 needs to focus on in non-campaign terms is customization and segregation. Customization: - Full Forge availability across the board. Each and every map must have it. - Forge maps without preexisting structures that can't be edited/removed. - Full backlog of every gametype in Halo's history. - Individual weapon settings (DMG, reload speed, clip size, etc) - Halo's complete armory. From spikers to focus rifles to flamethrowers, no ordinance is left behind. Segregation: - Playlists specifically designed for tournament caliber competition are more isolated from the social groups. - Visible ranks are only used in ranked games. Social playlists have no use for them, so keep it hidden. With these options made available, the pros can tweak the game to fit their needs, while custom gamers can let their creative juices flow unhindered. Remember people, multiplayer is NOT cannon.
  25. Walshy hands freaking down. I knew who he was and I knew he was good, but after I watched his TwitchTV Halo 4 streams I gained a ton of respect for him. He not only would own up to any mistakes he made during the game, but would actually break them down. At the end of each stream he would do a Q&A with spectators. Just a classy guy. My least favorite would be Ogre 2. I don't care how famous you are, don't send me a message soliciting me for gold subcriptions or ms points just so I can be on your friends list for 30 days. You're a douchenozzle... douchenozzle.
