      Merry Christmas Director!

  3. 1. Fixed. 2. I haven't had the opportunity to play it yet. I expect to get it for Christmas though. 3. Don't have an opinion as of yet.
  4. For those of you who don't follow my facebook, my child was born on the 16th and weighed 9.18 pounds. He's doing well, as is his mother.

  5. Correct. The length of time it would take for the other senses to 'heighten' would depend entirely on the person and how they use those other senses. It's been theorized that someone who was born blind would develop heightened other sense much quicker than someone who's eyesight was lost in their 30s. The younger you are, the quicker the change should occur as well. However in most cases the change takes months at the very least, with a few cases of the change never occurring at all. The sense that is most likely to get an increase in sensitivity to cover for blindness is hearing, followed closely (statistically speaking) by the sense of touch. The process in which the brain uses parts of itself that were normally reserved for a sense that was lost to increase other senses is called cross-modal neuroplasticity.
  6. I win arguments on the internet, against women.
  7. There wouldn't be an accurate way to describe color because that is something that changes with each person's perspective, and the blind person wouldn't have any perspective to work with. So I wouldn't try. Yes, when one lacks a sense (especially one they had previously) one's mind tends to attempt to make up for this by heightening awareness with the other senses. A decent chunk of scientists believe that this a survival mechanism, but there are those who believe that the heightened senses are simply a result of no longer being distracted by the lost sense. In other words, if one were to lose their sight and notice that their senses of hearing, touch, and smell all increased in sensitivity, it is possible that this is either a survival mechanism or that they simply weren't aware of how acute those senses were previously because they were 'distracted' from it by their sense of sight.
  8. The best thing to do is communicate. Clear, concise communication to be specific. Basically, you have to talk to her without making jokes and hear how she feels and tell her how you feel. Mind you, I don't mean get into an argument. I mean sit down with her and talk about your situation, and apologize if you feel the need to. If you two are compatible, you'll be able to work this out. If not, then things won't get any worse than they already are.
  9. It's basically a one award for all the awards that were removed type of thing. I feel your pain though, I went from 55 (or so) down to 27 with the awards dump. The awards were removed because the majority of them could no longer be attained or were no longer relevant (i.e. personally created awards for staff members and moderators who hadn't been either for over two years).
  10. Check your email and make sure that you got the Xbox receipt, and check the balance on your bank account/xbl account to make sure the purchase actually went through. Same thing happened to me yesterday. Tried to buy something and didn't get it, turns out the purchase didn't complete without throwing me an error code. If the purchase did go through, hang on to the email you got. Try these steps. 1. COMPLETELY shut off your Xbox One by doing this. >Go to the Home Screen >Press Menu Button OR say "Xbox go to settings" if you have a Kinect >Select Settings >Select Power & Startup >Turn on Energy Saving Mode >Turn off your Xbox 2. Turn your Xbox back on 3. Check to see if you have the REQ Pack. If you do NOT have the REQ Pack at this point and you've got purchase confirmation contact Xbox Live Support using the link below. Let them know how you purchased the pack, that you have the purchase confirmation, and that you did not receive the item you purchased. If they can't help you ask to speak to a supervisor or a more experienced support rep. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/browse/billing
  11. No it hasn't. http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Type-53_Plasma_Bolt_Launcher
  12. Lol no problem. The first place to start when trying to get a refund is from wherever you bought it from. If you bought it from a store, take it back with your proof of purchase (receipt) and ask for a refund. If they refuse, ask to speak to a manager. If you bought the digital copy then I'm going to tell you what M$ support won't (they're afraid of dissat surveys because they'll get fired over them). You aren't able to get a refund for those. Microsoft has covered it's tracks quite well with this, even litigation won't get you a refund in most cases. Your best bet is to ask for the next tier of support, if they've got it. Or customer relations.
  13. This is a community forum, run by the players for the players. No one here is an employee of 343 Industries or Microsoft. I don't know what support told you, but my guess is that whoever you were talking to did either a google or bing search for 343 industries and came here instead of www.halowaypoint.com/en-us which is the official website for Halo.
  14. Forum condensation complete. Have a nice day.

  15. Things will be moving around a little bit. Thank you for your patience.

  16. Farmers who want to be a bit sarcastic and sound smarter have a tendency to refer to ladybugs as organic pesticides, so yes. Prior to the 'all natural' social movement that's actually what organic pesticides were referring to, animals that disrupted pest populations without being pests themselves.
  17. Some people get early access to things by having 'hook-ups' in the industry, or by being able to advertise the game to a lot of people. The reason for early releases these days is primarily a marketing scheme, with an element of beta testing involved. Due to strict deadlines many companies don't get enough time to do a proper beta for their single player parts of the games, so early releases gives them a heads-up for things they'll have to hot-patch after the full release. That's where you get 'day 1 patches' from, and the ones to blame are the publishers rather than the devs. Those who want to spoil the game for themselves simply don't have the self-control (or desire) to wait until they can actually get their hands on the game. The thing is, there are hardly any stories out there that aren't predictable anymore, so it becomes more about the actual experience than the story with a lot of gamers.
  18. Preferred =/= correct And tins can't box. Yes.
  19. Depends. If you're talking about a person, then yes. If you're talking about a slender piece of wood, cardboard, or other flammable material tipped with a chemical substance that produces fire when rubbed on a rough or chemically prepared surface then no, it can't.
  20. Updated my profile music. Well... 'updated'. It's the music I had before the music I had previously. If you plan on listening you may want to... Nah, it'll be a surprise.

  21. It may have come to your attention that Edward Kenway is no longer a member of the news group, and has in fact been banned. I will not go into detail as to the actual reason he was banned, as we respect the privacy of our members, but I will say that his ban was because he broke a rule. He had previous examples of what would happen when he did what he did, and had been warned along with all members of the staff that doing it would result in not only a demotion but a ban as well. I want to be absolutely clear that his ban has nothing to do with any personal disagreements he has had with the moderating team, other staff members, or even forum members. He was banned because he broke a rule. He likely has his justifications, as everyone who does something wrong does, but some things cannot be forgiven or simply warned away. Edward Kenway's ban is as permanent as permanent bans go. He will no longer be allowed to have a profile on the site, so if you wish to continue to communicate with him you will have to do so elsewhere. Let this example be a lesson to future and present staff members. Edward Kenway has done a lot for this site, but even he was not above reproach for violating the rules. In regards to the now vacant News Team position, we are looking for new candidates to fill this gap. However, don't call us. We'll call you. A guaranteed way NOT to get on the News Team is to pester me or other moderators with hints that you'd like to be considered or even flat out asking for the position.
