  1. Pretty much everything Unseenz said 3 posts before me. It still does not change the fact though, that Halo 4 did not have a much-needed ranked matchmaking system ON RELEASE. So, Halo 4 at the moment is not even comparable to CS:GO how it compromised to be a game that somewhat appeals to both casual and competitive audiences.
  2. Regicide sucks because you can barely win with 30 kills, while the runner-up was behind 15 points with only 17 kills total. True story. And those of you saying "oh well its only 35 points", that's 35 bonus points every time you die until you lose 1st place. There is absolutely no point trying to gain the lead until the very end, and at that point it's all luck. Who will the king be next to at the end of the game?
  3. Regicide on Adrift. I barely won with 30 kills. The 2nd place player was 15 points away from winning, and ONLY HAD 17 KILLS. I sense a problem. First off, what was wrong with plain Free For All? If it ain't broken, don't fix it. Trying to be "innovative"? I (and most of the community) would prefer balance and fun gamemodes instead, thank you. There is absolutely no balance. The state of the game is people purposefully trying not to gain the lead, but make a run for it in the very end, hoping the king is going to be handed to them on a platter instead of the other 3 or 4 runner-ups. That is called pure luck; no matter how much skill you have, it does not matter. Welcome to Regicide, the ugly beast that arose out of the corpse of our beloved FFA.
  4. Guys, don't forget the completely unnecessary scoreboard changes making "first to 50 kills" to "first to 500 points" and making a kill 10 points just like CoD, because kids like large numbers flashing on their screen when they get a kill. It's just to copy as much of CoD as possible.
  5. Easy. Have ranked/unranked playlists, all are happy. The question you should ask is: Why shouldn't they provide for the HALO players? It's a major money base for them. Also, does 343i even read these forums? There's some pretty intense insight that is being ignored.
  6. No. There was a 1v1 ranked playlist in Halo 3, and it was a fail and removed. It is easily boosted due to 1v1, it was all about hogging up power weapons or hiding / crouching, and the only competition it provided was a test of who can play the cheapest and run away when they get the lead. Also, it was not MLG-style maps but default maps or slightly modded (like every other freakin playlist in existence), which did not help either. But it wouldn't matter anyways because sadly there are not going to be ANY ranked playlists at all. /tear
  7. The reason Halo 3 had quite a large amount of boosters was mainly because of matchmaking filtering exploits, such as pressing Prefer This Player for your booster buddies, switching the language to something like German and checking on Search Only For My Language. Plus, many achievements such as the nigh-impossible 2 for 1 laser kill in Lone Wolves promoted and encouraged boosting, making more people in the playerbase aware of these methods that can be exploited. 1) Add ranked playlists along with social 2) Get rid of boosting exploits 3) ??? 4) Profit.
  8. YES, THIS ^ It's brilliant! Genious! Revolutionary! And..it's not even a new concept, but tried and tested and preservered. It's only common sense to go with the good and out with the bad.
  9. Halo 2 ranking was great. Basically, every ranked game from level 25 onwards was EXTREMELY competitive, and gave more of an importance streaks. I miss that.. For those of you who haven't played H2, it was somewhat similar to H3's ranking system except that going 1 to 45 wasn't easymode. I understand that they want to implement something that prevents boosting. But please for the love of all that is good, bring back an actual RANKing system that promotes competition again.. Even Starcraft's will suffice. But CoD or Reach? That makes me /facepalm.
  10. I'd play if it wasn't so ridiculously bugged and broken with 0 tech support for the past so-many-years
