  1. Everyone has time restraints, what if there is time issues for one of the days?

I see that it is also posted on Reddit, do you HAVE to be a member to play or can you play regardless?

    1. I will attempt to announce the date and time of each Challenge a week in advance (Most likely right after we complete a challenge in game). If a contestant is unable to attend a challenge, they should notify me ASAP. I will be willing to reschedule if needed.

    2. In order to post in the Sign-up thread you must be a member. Signing up takes only a few seconds, and we encourage contestants that join to explore the forums. All competition posts will be made on the 343industries.org forums. If you are a contestant, you'l need to be checking in here at least once or twice a week.

    Welcome to Halo SURVIVOR!

Halo SURVIVOR will be a contest pitting members against each other in Halo 5: Guardians. They will have to Out Wit, Out Play and Out Last their fellow players in order to reach the final pairing. They will then have to rely on the very players voted off or eliminated before them to decide which of them will be the ultimate survivor, and take home the grand prize.

One of the prizes that will go to the winner will be a copy of Halo Wars 2! The top two finalists (including the victor) will also receive a $25 Xbox Gift Card.

    The basics of Halo SURVIVOR

This will be both a team and an individual contest that will test your desire to win. Depending on the number of participants, teams will have a minimum of 6 players initially and these teams will compete against one another in challenges. There will be a wide variety of challenges, or mini games, that will test players skill, ability to communicate and ability to work together as a team. The losing team of each challenge will be sent to a voting council and have to vote off one of their own members. Depending on the number of players, teams may be broken up and remade as the competition goes on. The contest will continue as a team event until there are only 6 players left. Then the challenges will become individual competitions that will leave only two remaining survivors. The final two players will take voyage of remembrance that will pay homage to all of the contestants that participated in the contest. Following this remembrance a jury made up of the final four players knocked out during the individual challenge and the last three players voted off in the team challenges will hear why each of the two remaining contestants feel they should receive the jurors votes. Once the jury has cast their votes a final ceremony will be held where the votes will be read aloud and the winner of Halo SURVIVOR is announced. The winner will then be presented with his or her prizes and immortalized in our very own 343 Hall of Fame.

How the game be played in general

Once we have a complete list of willing players, teams will be randomly selected. (There may be an uneven amount of contestants initially and the imbalance will be dealt with depending on the numbers.) Once the teams have been selected they will receive their Team names which will be based off of Halo lore.

The Team challenges will take place on the weekends: Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday, and at a time that best allows for members of all countries to gather and compete. The ceremonial 'Team Council' will take place in a specially forged hall that will be used for all of the SURVIVOR votes, functions and final jury voting. Depending on availability of players for each competition, one player of a Team may be allowed to sit out of a challenge if they are unable to be present to an challenge. A contestant may not sit out two challenges back to back. If a contestant is unavailable from one of the parties for a competition the opposing Team will be required to have one of their members sit out of the challenge so the participating Teams are equal in number. If a contestant repeatedly does not show up for challenges, they will be removed from the competition.

The challenges will have a variety of strategies required. Some will be skill based requiring all players to participate equally, some will require fellow team members to guide a single player through a blind maze and retrieve required objects, others will need your Team to work together and control as many areas possible within a given time frame. Each challenge will be unique from the others and fun as can possibly be. The individual challenges will fit the range of contestants competing in them.

How do you play as an individual in a team contest?

Players may want to join together and make pacts, or coalitions, with one another and formulate strategies to advance your group or eliminate perceived threats to your moving ahead in the game. You may choose to play lone wolf and hope that your self-determination and abilities will take you to the top. This style of play may even be used during the individual challenges to help gain votes should you be one of the two finalists.

There will also be a single hidden 'Immunity Icon' that will allow one player to use after the vote has been counted and before being voted off is confirmed. The 'Immunity Icon' will be hidden on "The Island" and a post containing a link to a map will be publicly made prior to the start of the first challenge. This post will also include some hints that will give each contestant a chance at immunity. There will only be one 'Immunity Icon' accepted and that will be determined by the player who first sends me a private message with the exact location and type of item used for the 'Icon'.

What will you get for being a participant but get voted off?

All contestants that participate and get voted off will receive an award for being part of Halo SURVIVOR. Some of the 'banished' contestants will be used to assist in some of the challenges that require additional support from our members. The final seven members banished from the competition will sit in on each following 'Party Council' and listen in as the remaining contests vote off fellow players. This group of banished players will not be allowed to engage the contestants during the council session.

    Who can play?

Anyone who signs up by the end of the 'Sign Up' period ending on June 12th 2016 by 11:59 PM EST by responding within this thread. Please leave you Gamertag.

    Questions?

Please refer to the Q&A Thread for this contest.

  3.

They're no mods on Halo 5. Actually they're no mods on the Xbox One as its not possible to mod at all on the Xbox One.

If someone has a scorpion tank early on in a Warzone match it will most likely be from a random vehicle req or they killed most of the AI and bosses at the start and got a decent amount of kills.

This is correct. If you know how to do the Ai spawns right, You can get a scorpion tank before the score hits 200. Throw in some kills and its fairly easy.

  4. As someone who jungles a lot in League of Legends, I know the feeling of losing objectives due to the last second, one hit from an opponent out of nowhere. On the other hand, I've done it plenty of times as well. It's part of the game, and the more you work together with your team, block off the objective, and then plan out the final blow, the easier it is.

  5.

I want them back. It's good to know you actually are hitting someone. If you're looking at your hit markers then you aren't looking at the enemy.

I just want the SMG ultra fast pinging back

ah yes, the SMPinger. I hated listening to the weaponfire noise they put in the background for it.
  6. The Halo 5 campaign.

Honestly, I am very disappointed, not from a game-play perspective, but how the story was shown. The cutscenes later on in the game had nothing to do with the story, only serving as a ending point for missions. Although there was great filler information and neat factoids to flush out some characters or events, the main story was left hanging. Even the three missions where you had to run around and talk to various people was fairly bland. The worst thing was that a lot of our interaction with Cortana and her plans/motives take place during battles against Warden Eternal or tons of Promethean knights. At least do it while we are moving from one area to another, something I think Halo 3 did a great job with. I also think we could have seen more of the whole Osiris versus Blue Team hunt. I think only two missions had the player actually trying to find Blue Team, while the other missions were doing things to try to get to Blue Team.

Honestly, I just want to see a Halo Ring again, or the flood. Cortana is concerned about upholding the mantle, just as the Forerunners were. In my opinion, the only way she can prove she is capable would be to hold off a flood resurgence. I think any story not containing the flood in the next Halo game would fall flat.

I hope to see you soon!

  8. My most recent game I have binge played was The Witcher 3 last year. It just took me with a great story and great mechanics. I started to read the books and went back and started playing the Witcher 2. If you haven't, I would recommend getting the Witcher3.

Another games I've played and just been enthralled by recently is Crusader Kings 2, a grand strategy game full of intrigue, war, religious conflict, and family problems. Whether it has been driving the Saxons from England, unifying the Norse pagans, extinguishing the Karling dynasty, or Crusading, the game has not let me down. If you want to spice it up, there are plenty of mods that expand the game into Tamriel, Westeros, or the Americas. It takes a while to understand some of the finer aspects of the game, but it is very rewarding to just play and complete your own personal goals. Just remember, DEUS VULT!

  9. 343i makes updates every week, and with the release of the Memories of Reach, I would not doubt the servers were changed. I would suggest posting on r/Halo during the workweek next week (ie Monday-Friday). Multiple members of 343i browse it frequently during the week. I would also suggest posting in the relevant threads on HaloWaypoint as well: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/58b8518e005f432381ab99fbcaf931e0/topics.

  10. An early concept of Hayabusa was seen way back before release of Halo 5. Whether they continued work on it is unknown.

Also what would de Hayabuse Sword be used for in Warzone? What are your proposed perks?

I think he is referring to the sword that appeared on your armor in Halo 3 after achieving 1000 gamerscore. Completely aesthetic.
