  1. You can react really fast, but I personally react faster with an Xbox. My Xbox skills are nearly double my PC skills.

    Also I mean the PC lags so much, it lags even on single-player. So many frame rate drops and hitbox glitches...

    No.

    No, no no.

    NO.

    NOO!

    NNNOOOOOOOOO!

    Get better hardware, the only reason you "lag" on PC is because your PC isn't good enough to do whatever you want to do flawlessly.

  2. HATE....YOU....ALL....

    You loved playing as Covenant. <3

    Wow. What a fun day of Halo. Here's a short bulleted list of what my day consisted of.

    * Hop online party up Halo 4 with Elite 343

    * Some CTF

    * Some Dominion

    * Head over to Doubles and go 5-0 while decimating everyone

    * Check Shoutbox for more players

    * OMG Halo Wars Playdate

    * Blessing from god himself

    * Lose a match on the Frozen Tundra

    * Win a match on Fort Deen

    * Where is Drizzy

    * Hop on over to Halo 4

    * Drizzy: "wtf... where is everyone

    * Play SAW Arena

    * Great fun

    * Play Ro-Sham-Bo

    * Great fun

    * Back to Halo Wars

    * Fort Deen... Ok lets do this

    * Spent to first half of the match giving away our gameplan to the enemy

    * Thought we were in game chat

    * OMG Real Talk ODST Assualt

    * Long drawn out game of attack and repel. Very fun

    * Lose in the end

    * Onwards to Halo 3

    * I have to leave

    So basically what I got out of this was that while I did not enjoy Halo Wars against randoms online... It is great fun when you play against people who have mics and are set on having a good time with winning taking a backseat. Very, very fun playdate and I'd really enjoy seeing Halo Wars thrown into the mix more often.

    :)

    You forgot my 20 hawks moving in a line, one by one.

    And the point they lit the world on fire. :3

  3. The Covenant Reaper

    The Covenant Reaper is a large tri-legged vehicle that is a few feet taller than the UNSC Mantis. It walks a little faster than the Mantis, and can turn in a full circle pretty fast. It has a front turret made to fight infantry and vehicles. It can hold on person.

    Look:

    EPSON001.jpg

    (This is a very simple picture I drew of it.)

    The Reaper would be a smaller version of the Scarab, and a different version of the Locust. The cockpit area looks like a Banshee without wings, and has a rotating platform below. Three big legs connect to the platform. The Reaper has one turret on the front. Underneath the Reaper is a ventilation shaft.

    Like other Covenant vehicles, it is purple/pink, with some grey.

    Turret:

    The turret on the Reaper shoots plasma bullets almost identicle to Concussion Rifle bullets. When you hold down the trigger, it charges and shoots a powerful blast almost like a Wraith bullet. After the big charge, the Reaper must cool down by the vent underneath it. At this time, it cannot move and is more vulnerable to attacks.

    Movement:

    The Reaper moves around by three large legs, each having three claws to grab on to the ground. It cannot stomp on enemies like the Mantis, but when walking the legs can crush you. The Reaper will be the first vehicle to walk on walls. It can walk on any material up to a vertical slope. This might play a key part in the Halo 5 campaign as Master Chief might be surprise attacked by two Reapers climbing up the tower the Chief was on. The Reaper can last of all, squat down. This makes it about as high as a Mantis.

    Health:

    A downside to the Reaper is that it is weak. It doesn't have shields, and two plasma grenades stuck to the ventilation shaft will blow it up. If one of the Reaper's legs gets enough damage taken, the leg will break and the Reaper will fall and break. If damage is taken to the cockpit, than the entire top will explode, leaving the legs to collapse.

    Techical Aspects:

    Before anyone gets in the Reaper, it is crouched low enough so people can get in, lower than when it is squatting. You enter it from the back. Enemies can board the Reaper, but cannot hijack it. They plant a grenade in the back blowing it to smithereens.

    Multiplayer Benefits:

    Maps in Halo 5 could use this vehicle for a whole new version of gameplay. We have vehicles in the sky and on the ground, but now we have them on walls and high places. Forge builders could build great maps and minigames using the Reaper as it's main obstacle.

    Why not just use the regular Locust? Well, Locusts would be too overpowered and not fun with a giant continuous laser blowing up everything. Reapers are an improved version, and after all, the humans weren't the only ones to make something new in four years.

    Here is a better picture that I drew of it, this is more like concept art:

    img001.jpg

    Wow, I'm already day dreaming about driving a Reaper, and climbing over Ragnarok's landscape like it was flat. So anyway, thanks for reading! I'd be happy if you helped me get this to 343 Industries attention. But if it isn't in Halo 5, there's always a Halo 6!

    Yeah.

    343i aren't ripping off Mass Effect.

    I prefer my Reapers 2km tall at the biggest, not 10m tall at the biggest.

  4. The entire point of killing cortana off is so chief would be forced to talk with actual humans. Cortana is the only being outside of his spartans that john TALKS to, johnson doesn't even compare to the relationships he should be having with other humans. 27 years fighting for humanity and he doesn't even know how to hold the most basic conversations because he does all of that with cortana. If he needs back up cortana calls for it, Cortana asks all the questions does all the planning, everything.  Without her he will have to ASK others for these things and rely on them.

    Do you want to see how the great chief acts without cortana? Read "The Flood", he seriously found himself "talking" to noone because he was so used to cortana being there all the time. He almost got killed several times because he was used to cortana watching his back, he even started freaking out because he did not have cortana.

    So if 343 wants to humanize john then getting rid of cortana is the best way to do so.

    Good man.

    At least someone understands.

    Seriously, it was painful.

    Like dating a machine; who dates a machine? No one.

    Besides, Cortana was basically a construct of duct tape, space magic and unreal-ness. Glad to see no Cortana.

  5. An Alienware ALX R4 with the following specs:

    CPU - Second Generation Intel Core i7-3820 (10M Cache+Overclocked-4.1GHz)

    Operating System - Windows 8 64-bit; English

    RAM - 8GB Quad Channel DDR3, 1600 MHz

    Video Card - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 1.5GB GDDR5

    Hard Drive - 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3Gb/s

    Sound Card - Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio

    Optical Drive - 24x CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) + Double Layer Write

    Chassis - Alienware Aurora ALX Chassis

    In all, about $1,600 excluding keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, etc. With those, estimated about $1,800-$2,000.

    Remember, this is my dream computerm but within budget. In other words, affordable yet dream. My full on, turbo dream, would be around $5,000.

    • Do not use over sized text for a whole post.
    • Alienware is for idiots, it isn't even that good at all.
    • On your specification you missed PSU and motherboard.
    • Just don't buy Alienware. Just no. Don't even THINK about it.

    I would have to say my dream computer would have to be the The Blue Gene/P supercomputer or DeepQA artificial intelligence supercomputer. :3

    :gsd:

    You want Watson. :3

    I wish for that too. :3

  6. i know this is an old topic that got people wondering what happened to him after halo reach came out, but please allow me to explain. From the last we saw of Jun, he was assigned to escort Dr. Halsey to Castle base after noble team secured her lab. The solution that i remember hearing was that the pelican that they were on crashed and Jun was killed. I may be wrong about this part, but thats just what i vaguely remember hearing. Now that halo 4 came out, we have seen Dr. Halsey as character in the story, and that she has not perished. Now, how is it possible that Jun died in Pelican crash escorting Halsey, but Halsey is still alive at this point?

    I did try to do a bit of research about what happened after Halsey was escorted to Castle base. Jun's name was never meantioned in the information that i read, but other spartans played a role in defending Halsey. Castle base was intentionally destroyed by  halsey and the spartans to prevent the covenant from obtaining any ONI intel, so they escaped into the abandoned mining tunnels on which the base was built. eventually they were rescued by UNSC forces on a commandeered covenant vessel, which apperntly included Master Chief

    So to get to the point, i just want to know if Jun had a confirmed death, and why it is possible that Halsey is still alive if he isnt

    Son, you don't realise that there is a VERY simple answer to this.

    An answer that will leave you in awe.

    MASS EFFECT FIELDS

  7. Dear 343,

    I hope everyone takes this as constructive criticism.

    Here is my issue with the last two Halo games (one of which 343 didn't even create)

    It seems that Halo is trying to tap into the CoD crowd by changing the game to have similarities and in doing so have really downgraded the online gaming experience the original Halo versions had offered. Halo 2/3 were genuine and had originality, now you have this mentality of specializations and lost the true competitive gaming Halo had in the past. I nearly jumped out of my chair when I saw the update of CSR 343 launched just recently. I called all my close friends who stopped playing Halo due to the loss of the "Halo identity". This is a fantastic step to reviving the purist aspect of the original Halo spirit, but it's still not enough. In the past I would play Call of Duty for that type of gaming experience and would also play Halo for a different (better) gaming experience. With the recent changes the games are to similar with Halo being a poor mans version of CoD. I find myself being nostalgic when I think back on how much fun it was to watch your ranking increase/decrease after every ranked game you played in Halo 2/3, having three or more close friends playing competitively and coming up with new strategies to try and collectively raise our ranking. Halo 2 rewarded skill, Halo 4 rewards everyone who puts in hours of game play which gives off a mentality of "everyone gets a medal" rather than the game being "elite".

    I think the CSR update was a great step for Halo's identity revival. I really hope there are more changes to come where you don't have to go online or to Waypoint to see a persons CSR.

     No more Call of Halo

    Actually, you can sum this up in two statements.

    Businesses compete for the same customers; Call of Duty's creators have a paramount quantity of customers buying from them.

    343i do not care for making their work original, fresh and new. They care for only their success and money pouring out of every hole in the CEO's body (Or highest-status EO).

    I'm not saying that Halo 4 is bad or 343i are just like a cloned EA that plays fetch with an uranium bar until cloned EA (343i) are mutated enough to just listen to fans.

    Well, the second bit. Kind of.

    Halo 4 is still a good game, the direction of most main-stream FPS games must be considered; fast pace with more player-variables to change outcomes of combat.

    343i, being a division of Microsoft (I think "division" is the most accurate word, correct if wrong), has an intention of gaining a big customer base.

    Why? Microsoft games. It is likely that a large Halo-fan base will mean people will be interested in other Microsoft games.

    Although this may not be an intention, you devalue one item's qualities to give it astronomical value of coin.

  8. You are a disgrace to the halo series and to halo fans alike your game dosent work cannot install disk 2 cannot play the campaign and no servers are online why release a game if it dosent work seriously? My guess is you won't get the contract for the next halo did anyone have these problems with bungie? No I work hard for my money and I used my hard earned money on your so called amazing game... It should be amazing but blatantly not I've tried everything possible out there to fix the problems no solutions worked what's so ever and as I can see looking through these forums 2 thirds of the people who bought this game had a problem that says it all.. Pfft not getting my money again..

    This is no-ones fault but your own.

    Buy a hard drive.

    Get out of here and stop whining like a five year old.

  9.

    If they are going to do another Mass Effect they need to follow this list

    • Do not rush the ending out, take your time, we can wait.
    • Add more humor, as clearly seen in Mass Effect 3: Citadel, but not DLC.
    • Keep Multiplayer but with more characters and modes, I hate only playing an eleven wave Horde mode.
    • More squadmates, Mass Effect 3's list was too low, with the Prothean I had like, 6 by the end. In ME2 I had Twelve.
    • More interesting DLC, I didn't like Leviathan or Omega, Citadel was the only really good one.
    • Bring the price of DLCs back to 10 bucks or on Xbox 800 Microsoft points, Kasumi is like five bucks and Leviathan is 15, :blink:
    • If new squadmates, add Loyalty missions, I understood in ME3 as by that time everybody was Loyal to you.
    • More Weapons and Weapon Mods, I felt that the weapons in ME3 fell a little flat except the DLC ones.
    • More enemies, we had about eight reapers, eight cerberus, and some geth.

    Multiplayer has enough characters; new modes are certainly a good idea.

    Kasumi was a small DLC whereas Leviathan was a sizeably bigger DLC.

    There is already enough weapons, more weapons will just make combat too easy. There is enough weapon mods anyway.

    You can't just chuck more enemies in otherwise it is hard to counter them all. Too many enemies = boring gameplay.

    Loyalty missions have a good context since in Mass Effect 4, you'll be a completely new character and will obviously not already be trusted by your team.

  10. Thanks for posting this! I want to see how the story of Shepard will continue or even if a new character appears. Maybe Shepard wakes up from his indoctrination and discovers a new threat? Honestly I have no idea.

    And I'm also excited for that movie :awesome:

    You are months behind...

    Shepard was not indoctrinated in the ending.

    Mass Effect 3 as the end of Shepard's journery.

    The new protagonist will not resemble Shepard in any way.

    The ending will come in 4 different colors!

    I'm digging a hole for you to die in.

  11. The DMR has several advantages over the Carbine and BR, like only 5 actual bullets needed to land a kill or the insane magnetism, or the fact that shooting someone to death at any range besides point blank including the range of the BR and Carbine is easy.

    My proposed buff to the other two rifles is just to make them have the same range as the DMR. I honestly think the DMR will still have the advantage but at least it will be on even range ground. I used the Halo 2 carbine the most out of the versions of the rifle and what made it so good in halo 2 was it's firing speed and the same range as the BR. It fired EVEN faster then the halo 4 version but more importantly it had the range to back it up at a cost of slightly low accuracy at range rapid shooting. The BR will still be balanced except those frustrating times you decided to use a BR in big team, your getting picked off by double its range by the DMR.

    Anyway, I thought long and hard about how to solve this "DMR is better then the other rifles" problem. And don't kid yourself if you think the other rifles are fine.

    No, this is stupid. The DMR has a range advantage and is easy for a marskman to use but it doesn't mean it should be changed or other rifles to be changed to it.

    The BR can easily be used at long range if you care to aim, so can the carbine. The purpose of the carbine and DMR is completely different, so is BR to carbine and BR to DMR.

    Besides, forgers sometimes enjoy implementing BRs into zombie games as DMRs have a ridiculous range.

    My proposed buff to the other two rifles is just to make them have the same range as the DMR.

     Propose to Waypoint, not us.

    Put it this way, if you can use the DMR better than other rifles, use the DMR.

  12. Well... Looks like minecraft is finally dead.

    Depending on your outlook on the game, this is the best update ever, or the worst. I am one of the latter.

    Changes that are especially standing out include

    Chickens are enemies

    PvP combat is turn-based and requires the player to get armies of monsters and animals

    Magic/luck

    Horses

    Different types of fish

    Far lands return

    Dropper, now called flopper turns everything in it to raw fish

    Literal redstone bugs

    -_-link posted later.

    Anyway, what is everyone else's outlook?

    Edit, quoted article.

    Enjoy.

    This is clearly an April Fools joke.

  13. I'm great at halo 4, even so that i use no ordnance and still make a k/d spread in the +double digits for each game. I noticed that i would either make an amazing k/d spread or a downright pitiful spread. I do better on smaller maps but i normally get pounded on exile, abandon, and all other mid to long range maps excluding Ragnarok. Can someone give me pro tips and advice to survive on these maps??????? I would appreciate any help with my gameplay not just on these maps!

    Grab a DMR and plenty of cover, practise your tracking and obviously aim, don't rush like an idiot.

  14. Does anyone really use these anymore with the ability to start with plasma grenades? I've never found them that effective

    The 'Fragmentation Grenade' dos enough damage to drop shields in addition to having a generous blast radius and starting-capacity.

    Plasma grenades require a precision-throw and don't bounce of walls that well.

    The grenades work better with different play-styles.
