[GameSpot] - Diablo 4 - When Can You Play As The Necromancer And Druid

Recommended Posts

The Diablo 4 early access beta is upon us. Those who've pre-purchased the game will be able to venture forth into the harsh wilderness of Sanctuary until they hit level 25. However, as players have pointed out, there have been a few hiccups, which include long queue times and server disconnections. Apart from these, it's also worth noting that neither the Necromancer nor Druid are available in Diablo 4--not yet anyway.

Diablo 4 Necromancer and Druid availability

The Necromancer is an old fan favorite. These Priests of Rathma aim to strike a balance, resurrecting the dead to do their bidding. They're able to create projectiles made of bone and cause corpses to explode. Druids, meanwhile, are in tune with nature, giving them a means of striking down foes with the elements. Moreover, they're able to shapeshift into ferocious animals.

So, when exactly will you be able to play as the Necromancer and Druid in Diablo 4? The short answer, according to Activision-Blizzard's official blog post, is next weekend. Basically, Diablo 4 has two public beta stages:

  • Early access beta - Runs from March 17 at 12 p.m. ET through March 20 at 3 p.m. ET. Only those who've pre-purchased the game will be able to try it out at this stage.
  • Open beta - Runs from March 24 at 12 p.m. ET to March 27 at 3 p.m. ET. This will be available to everyone.

During the early access beta, only the Barbarian, Sorcerer, and Rogue are playable. As such, you'll be able to see their capabilities and experience the first act of the campaign. That's also when the Necromancer and Druid become playable in Diablo 4.

You can make corpses go kablooey as Diablo 4's Necromancer.

Do take note that your progress from the early access beta will carry over to the open beta. However, once the open beta concludes on March 27, all progress will be wiped. The next time you do get the chance to enter the dark dungeons of Diablo 4 is when it officially launches on June 6. In any case, you can learn more about the game's playable heroes in our class hub.
