Eevee is one of the most unique pocket monsters available in Pokemon Go, having the distinct ability to evolve into one of eight different forms, each with its own type. Filling your Pokedex will require adding one of each to your roster, so let us be your guide on how to get each of these eight Eeveelutions.

How To Evolve Eevee Into Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon

First, you'll need to obtain 25 Eevee Candies by catching Eevees and sending them to Professor Willow. Once you have them, using the 25 candies will turn your Eevee into one of the three original evolutions.

However, there is a trick that can guarantee which Eeveelution you'll receive, though it only works once for each form. By changing Eevee's name to a particular nickname, you can choose which Eeveelution you'll receive. The names are as follows:

• Vaporeon - "Rainer"
• Jolteon - "Sparky"
• Flareon - "Pyro"

How To Evolve Eevee Into Espeon and Umbreon

Espeon and Umbreon use a similar method to the original three Eeveelutions, though there are two more key factors that must be taken into account: time of day and walking distance.

First, add Eevee as your walking buddy so it appears on-screen with you. Next, you'll need to walk a total of 10KM with Eevee as your buddy in order to strengthen its bond with you. Finally, use 25 Eevee Candy to evolve it to either Espeon during the day or Umbreon at night. That's it!

Also, if you'd prefer to use the nickname method from before and skip the walking or day/night requirements, there are names for Espeon and Umbreon as well. Here's what you need to name your Eevee in order to get the evolution you want:

• Espeon - "Sakura"
• Umbreon - "Tamao"

How To Evolve Eevee Into Leafeon and Glaceon

Leafeon and Glaceon are a little easier to plan for when trying to evolve an Eevee, as they require specific items and locations in order to get them.

First you'll need a special type of Lure from the Shop--either a Mossy Lure or a Glacial Lure --which cost 200 Pokecoins each. Next, head to a nearby PokeStop and activate the lure corresponding to the Eeveelution you're looking for, Mossy for Leafeon or Glacial for Glaceon. Finally, use 25 Eevee Candies to evolve the Eevee into the form of choice.

Once again there's a nickname for each form that can bypass these requirements, but as before the nicknames only work one time. If you need a quick Leafeon or Glaceon and can't get to a PokeStop, here's the names to use:

• Leafeon - "Linnea"
• Glaceon - "Rea"

How To Evolve Eevee Into Sylveon

The final Eeveelution is Sylveon, the Fairy-type form added to the Pokemon world in the Pokemon X and Pokemon Y generation. This one easily requires the most in-game work to obtain, and like Espeon and Umbreon it starts with making an Eevee your walking buddy.

Once Eevee is your buddy, you'll need to interact with it in order to earn Hearts, which increases the bond of friendship between you and Eevee. 70 Hearts are needed in order to evolve Eevee to Sylveon, and you'll know your Eevee is ready to evolve when Sylveon's silhouette appears in the Evolve button on your Eevee's status screen.

Activities with your Eevee that will gain Hearts include:

• Battling Together - Using Eevee in battle at Gyms, Raids, Team Go Rocket, or Trainer Battles earns two Hearts once per day.
• Feeding a Berry - Every three berries earns one Heart, up to four Hearts per day
• Finding a New Place - Activating a PokeStop or Gym that you've never used before earns two Hearts once per day
• Playing Together - Tapping Eevee in AR Mode allows you to pet it, giving two Hearts whenever it spins around, up to once per day
• Snapshot - Taking a picture of your Eevee will earn two Hearts once per day
• Walking - Every 2 KM walked earns one Heart, up to four Hearts per day

Also, completing a certain amount of activities will put Eevee in an "excited mood," which doubles the amount of daily Hearts you can earn.

Once you have 70 Hearts and see the Sylveon silhouette, use 25 Eevee Candies to evolve that Eevee into Sylveon. Or, if this is your first ever Sylveon, simply name an Eevee "Kira" and evolve it in order to receive Sylveon much faster.
