It's pretty weak in terms of armor, and once it's shields are down if it doesn't take cover it's game over. I really love the Mantis because it takes a good amount of skill to use properly, but is very effective when used in an effective way. If 2 or more infantry spartans get within 20 feet of you it's game over for the mantis though. Plasma pistols plus the optional ability to roll with 3 plasma grenades is a death sentence to just about every vehicle, and when coupled with Active Camo to get the drop on vehicles it just compounds the balance on this.
