  2. Rumours are going around stating that Crytek is not paying its employees. Crytek, a studio known for the Crysis and Rise games, are appearently having financial troubles. At least that's what rumours tell us. Crytek's official statement denies all rumours, but the employees themselves claim they're missing months of payment. Shortly after the denial of troubles CEO Cevat Yerly sent every employee an e-mail telling them not to talk about their salary anymore, to prevent it being leaked. Of course this has failed. Inside sources have claimed that all the rumours are true. Some say they don't get their full salary, while others claim they haven't recieved any payment at all. Weird thing is that not everyone is missing out on payments. Some employees claim they have recieved their payments just fine. The main annoyance for most employees is that all the higher up guys are still getting payed. They feel like this is a slap in the face. To counteract the negative publicity co-founder Avni Yerli has forbidden any staff members to talk to the media. Which again has failed. What are your thoughts on this? Let me know down below! Thank you for reading! Source
  3. All of us that have seen the advancement in gaming graphics and visual effects over the years will no doubt feel the amazing sense of reality that Crytek's newest engine, simply named 'CryEngine', brings to the gaming arena. They have brought physically based shading onto every surface which offers the most realistic feeling to the player. Physically accurate skin and eye shading along with deep facial skinning will make you think you are seeing live actors instead of player models. The CryEngine's ability to perform complex simulations with integrated cinematics reveal the most intense and visually stunning scenes that development artists can imagine. There are other features this new engine brings to bear on Crytek's newest game Ryse : Son of Rome. Carl Jones, a Crytek excutive, stated that, "Since CryEngine 3 was launched in 2009, we've dramatically changed the engine so many times, with so many major new features, it's not the same engine anymore.". He also spoke to their desire to create games in 'real time' when offering the changes made to the newest engine. "We have revolutionised many parts of the engine: we have overhauled our entire lighting system, built movie quality character rendering and animation solutions, vastly improved the speed and effectiveness of our Sandbox editor, and even our rendering has changed with tessellation, pixel accurate displacement mapping and now physical based rendering; all of this while maintaining our first principal: that making games should be real-time, all the time." Below are a few images and a video demo of the new CryEngine as well as the E3 game play demo from June 10th 2013. Images CryEngine Demo Video E3 Game Play Video
