  1. I need that controller mate! I may not seem like it, but I really am the collector type.

And besides, what would you say if I didn't celebrate Christmas?

I would say... you should celebrate Christmas. xD

Doesn't matter if you don't celebrate Christmas though, the main point is that you should wait for bugs and issues to be fixed before the initial release. This is especially the case, with these particular next-gen consoles, as they're a whole new generation altogether.

  2. Can't I just do a software update when they DO fix it...

I mean if that's the case then I can have the console and wait.

And if the console itself is having issues, then maybe MS will have recalls.

If I were you, I'd wait it out until Christmas.

What I'm doing is, getting some of the Xbox One games I want, before I get the console (Battlefield 4, maybe Assassin's Creed 4 too). I get the games first, then purchase the Xbox One on Christmas with some of my money, as well as Christmas money. By then, all issues with the consoles should be ironed out.

  3. 4 Different Forge Canvases?

    Ravine- UNSC/Rock

    Impact- UNSC/Moon Rock

    Erosion-  UNSC/Rock

    Forge Island- UNSC/Rock

You'll see in FTF that having 4 different forging locations that all look different is a great advantage. It's not just UNSC/Rock. Ravine has a waterfall, Forerunner structures and a large crevice. Impact has an asteroid field, space background and two large asteroids to forge on. Erosion has a run-down, rusted facility, a polluted lake and it's underground. Forge Island has Green Screens and trees.

To the untrained and unimaginative eye, its simply 'UNSC/Rock'. However, if you gave a close enough look into each of the areas and used any creativity you have inside you, you'd see that the maps are truly advantageous to Machinima makers. People need to look more closely, and be a little more imaginative.

Yes but they also ruined machinma by making the Spartans looks stupid and you cannot lower weapon's while moving or you cannot put you're hands down with the no weapons glitch .  :)

This has got Machinima makers to think outside the box and go above and beyond to create great Machinimas. A few Machinimas, including ours, now have CGI animation in them. We've had to search the internet for the people and tools to make this happen. We wouldn't have bothered if all of what you have listed were still in the game. With this, we have created amazing Machinimas, that don't just consist of in-game gameplay.

  4. I've been in your situation.

Maybe not to the same extremes, but somewhat similar. Anyway, gaming's the only real thing I can do. Also, I achieve fairly well in terms of academics, which always pleases the dads. I'd say you should work hard at school, try get good grades, then show him your results. The fact that I'm also apart of a large-ish YouTube channel, as well as staff on this forum, was also a good way for me to get my dad to loosen restraints.

I still have to get off by 6pm, but other than that I'm basically allowed online as much as I like. Right now though, I barely even touch the console, since I have so much editing to do and I've gotten bored of the games I currently own.

So I don't really have any tips for you, sorry. I just had to work it out for myself, so I guess you'll have to do the same. You could have a go at asking the dads of this forum though.

    Good luck with your endeavours.

  5. I'll go down the list. Beware, there's a tonne of flaws.

Spike Cannon - Needs to be more unique. No point in having a turret the exact same as the others, just re-skinned.

Needle Cannon - Needle Rifle from Halo: Reach.

Spike Rifle - Needle Rifle from Halo: Reach.

Spike Sniper - Doesn't sound much different from the Binary Rifle.

Flame Gun - One of the only ideas that sounds good to me.

Needle Grenade - Spike Grenade from Halo 3?

Promethean Sword - Pretty neat idea. Halo should have another melee weapon, and I thought of this as soon as I saw the Halo 4 demonstrations.

Sticky Carbine - Sounds pretty useless in my opinion.

Crossbow - Lots of issues. Sounds the same as the Binary, again. There shouldn't be so many one-hit kill weapons. It also doesn't suit Halo at all. In the year 2557, you're up against the Covenant and other Spartans, in space. There wouldn't be any point in a crossbow, with things like Sniper Rifles around.

Bow - Somewhat of a nice idea, but similar issues to the above. This worked well in Crysis 3, but Crysis is set on Earth, not other foreign Planets.

    Needle Knuckles - Silly idea.

    Spike Knuckles - Silly idea.

Support Rifle - Absolutely no point. This isn't Battlefield, where suppression has somewhat of an effect. Nobody would ever want to use this weapon, ever. Suppression wouldn't work, if everyone knows that this is a weak pea-shooter.

Combat Rifle - Just a DMR without the scope...?

I'm sorry, but I'm just being realistic. Most of these just don't work.

  6. I understand what you're getting at.

I didn't read the entire thing, no. I skimmed through, because I couldn't be bothered to read all of this hate on 343i. Through my very brief reading, I've pretty much summarized your ideas into this: you want game-breaking glitches back, as well as some button combinations and other mumbo-jumbo that I completely don't understand.

Anyway, read all of the responses above. They pretty much sum it up. These 'super bounces' are game-breaking glitches that ruin the experience. Halo is a game of skill, not knowledge of how to use a game's flaws to its advantage. These bugs aren't at all intended to be in the game, they're just mistakes.

With this, I have no idea how you'd expect 343i to ADD IN bugs to their games. Game developers strive to create a clean and ironed-out experience with no unintended bugs or glitches. There's just absolutely no way they will do as you ask, I can guarantee you that.

Now, in future I suggest you introduce and present yourself in a more mature and polite manner, as your introduction was rather offensive. Its not as if we can't read, we just don't care for arguments against a game that has been released and will not change. 343industries have been handed down a massive franchise from a big company, so you should respect that. This community is the best I've ever been apart of. We're caring, fun and most of all - positive. We'd appreciate it if it could perhaps stay that way.

Howdy everyone! Its that time of the cycle again. No, no not that cycle. I also shouldn't really be saying 'again', because its the first time... of the cycle... wut.

    [*INTERMISSION*]

Anyway, trying to surprise you didn't work. Actually, it wouldn't have worked anyway, since I named the title of this thread as the surprise, which you've already clicked through reading it, unless you're blind. In which case, I have no idea how you got here, or how you're currently reading this, and how I'm wasting valuable text space on what could be me explaining the surprise. The surprise that isn't a surprise no more, just an announcement.

If you've read to this point,  I can proudly say I have stolen 15 seconds or more of your life, depending on your reading speed, mwahaha. BÚT WAIT, don't stop reading because I wasted your life, continue reading, because I have a surprise that won't waste your life. Well, it could, but you should read it anyway.

The 18th of October marks the one year anniversary of the OnlineKnights YouTube channel. Some may know I'm apart of this channel, some... may not. Over the 365 days (or 360 so far, if you're reading this on the day I posted this), we have gone from 0 subscribers, to 3290 subscribers. I haven't actually been on the channel for that long though, so here are some words from Robius5991 that I copy/pasted from Halo Customs:

"as most of our viewers are aware, Halo has been the main focus of our content, specifically features for Halo 4 Forge Maps. In fact, we like them so much that we've featured over 100 of them! Therefore, to celebrate this 1 year milestone, we decided to set up an Anniversary Game Night."

How exciting! Please, just take a big step back and scream how much you love us, or alternatively, you can whisper your excitement. You know you want to.

Now, back to wasting your ti- I mean, explaining what this whole thingy is about. We're essentially throwing a MASSIVE PARTY! :awesome: .... but on an Xbox! ...on Halo ...Halo 4.

Come join in on this super fun Custom Lobby we'll be hosting, by reading all of the below, that I have again copy/pasted ;) :

"As some of you may have noticed, we've been a little scarce in the customs community lately, and for that we're very sorry. School work and personal affairs have kept us rather busy, but this was a date that we simply could not ignore, and so we are throwing caution to the wind and hosting a 6 hour lobby on Friday, October 18th, starting at 3pm and ending at 9pm (Eastern Standard Time). To sign up, please RSVP to the lobby that is linked above! (Or here, because you're not on Halo Customs, you silly muppet: http://halocustoms.com/threads/onlineknights-1-year-anniversary-game-night.13916/ )

For this lobby, the two main hosts will be myself (Robius5991) and GryffinGuy007. clear.png

We have also decided that since this is a celebratory event, we will not be accepting map submissions to be played, but instead will be following a pre-determined schedule of maps. To pay tribute to our awesome subscribers, and the Halo community in general, our Game Night will include our Star Wars Battlefront remakes, a few of our own maps, but most importantly, a variety of the community's maps that have been submitted to us in the past. Hopefully there's something for everyone in that list. Below, in the spoiler, you can find our map schedule for the evening:"

    1. Star Wars: Polis Massa
    2. Joust Arena Revamp
    3. Driftstead
    4. Star Wars: Tantive IV
    5. Shooting Stars
    6. When Running Fails
    7. Star Wars: Mustafar
    8. Car Park
    9. Aihab Redux
    10. Star Wars: Endor
    11. Run for Your Life
    12. Holdout: The Manor
    13. Star Wars: Hoth
    14. Arrow Slayer
    15. Purgatory
    16. Star Wars: Utapau
    17. Kamikaze Banshees
    18. Our Daily Bread
    19. Star Wars: Jabba’s Palace
    20. Hornets’ Nest
    21. Shipwreck 007

Now here's a thankyou from Robius! That isn't copy/pasted! Actually, it is!

"When I started this channel a year ago, its purpose was very different than the one it now holds. At first, Halo was just supposed to be a way for us to build a bit of a viewership and to hone my commentating skills (on that note, if you want a good laugh, be sure to look up one of my first videos... ouch), but it soon became the central concern of the channel. Staff was fluctuating a lot at the beginning, and although I had support and some help from friends, I was the one producing all the content. However, when Halo 4 came around, we really united as group and pushed the channel forward. Since then, we've added to our group two others; H2AK0N and GryffinGuy007 who've been a great help since, and I've got to say that I'm very proud of how far we've managed to come. Anyways, the main point of this is to thank everyone. Through Halo 4 I've met some amazing people, made some new friends, learned a lot, and was blessed with a great community of viewers. Overall, I just want to say thank you to my OnlineKnights team members, both old and new, thank you to my friends in the Halo Community (Yes that means everyone here on the forum too) and thank you to all our viewers on youtube. You're all amazing, and here's to another great year!"

I'd gleefully write my own 'thankyou' block of text, but uh... well... what he said.

Anyway, thanks for reading this entire thingy. I'll just slip in below a video that sums all this up without the effort of reading the above. You've probably read everything up to this point, so there's no point in the video. I could have just displayed it up the top, but I'm just evil. I suggest watching the video anyhow, just so you can get all this information engraved into your tiny lil' brains. :3

  8. Has S1E1 been released yet?

    That's a negatory, I'm afraid.

The closest thing to being released in the new cinematic trailer we're currently producing. With over 20 people hard at work on this Machinima project, that's the most we can do for now. However this one WILL be 15x better than the other, with more CGI, original soundtracks and more.

Also, add me on Skype: gryffinguy007. I'll let you into the group so you can watch the progress.

  9. Hmm... how intriguing.

This news, rumour or not, really interests me. I think with all these triple A titles, Halo needs to step it up. True, Halo 1 - 3 were a great success, but remember their time period. At that time, there was no Skyrim, no Battlefield 4, no Xbox One and of course - no Destiny, which ironically I think will be its real competition. If they kept true to what many claim to be 'what makes Halo, Halo', it just wouldn't be able to compete with the other huge titles being released.

What they're doing here, is adding a much larger sense of replay-ability, which is a step in the right direction. So far, this seems very similar to Mass Effect, but slightly larger and more ambitious. I never really replayed the Halo campaigns after I completed them once, since they were so linear. I like the sound of an open-world Halo game, especially in the Halo universe. 32 - 64 player multiplayer would keep it on par with large-scale games such as Battlefield, which is what it needs to do, seeing as how amazing Battlefield 4 looks. Call of Duty is sticking with the small arcade-style formula, so a larger Multiplayer mode could place it on top of that.

I'm loving the idea of incorporating vehicles from Halo Wars, since I don't know much about it. Having an open-world game could potentially teach us non-lore followers just that bit more about the Halo universe. They're really considering the trends of modern-day gamers and game developers alike, which will definitely improve the franchise.

Even though this may be all speculation, I believe they're taking a step forward with the franchise.

  10. An interesting idea, but its already been taken.

They have a weapon similar in design to this, in Titanfall. The only difference being that it's a machine pistol, not a rocket launcher. I see a 3-way lock-on explosive weapon being way too OP. With 3 rounds per magazine (1 more than the standard Halo rocket launcher), a lock-on mechanism that can lock to infantry, plus firing all 3 rounds at the same time in different directions, this just wouldn't work I'm afraid.

However, it is an interesting idea - wait until Titanfall, and you'll get something similar. ;)
