  1. Destiny Destiny's Most Wanted Features in Character Customization http://www.thegameheadz.com/Default.aspx?TabId=698&vw=1&itemid=2373&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 Your destiny awaits—but you must first await Destiny, Bungie’s much-anticipated FPS. This game is the center of several conversations, including character customization. Which customization features do fans desire most? Based on Bungie forums, I think fans have four major items on their wishlist. Let’s explore this list from least-desired to most-desired item: Wish #4: A phone app that allows you to customize, equip, and level up characters. This would be great for gamers because they can customize on-the-go. When you’re waiting on that long check-out line at the store, for example, you could have fun preparing your guardian for gameplay. And as an added bonus, you’ll have more time for gameplay when you get home, too. Wish #3: Character customization that is not based solely on looks.Yes, it’s fun to play with facial features and armor, but fans want to customize with depth. Function is important—how will armor and vehicles affect gameplay? Based on Bungie’s mission for this game to transform the FPS genre, I think this wish will be granted. Wish #2: More than one playable character. If Destiny is destined to reach classic status like Halo or Call of Duty, then the game needs to hold gamers’ interest for more than a few months. One way to do this is by allowing gamers to switch between characters with different strengths. They could switch between titan or hunter and try these classes without having to start an entirely new game. In addition, gamers would ultimately have a more versatile gameplay experience with more than one character. Wish #1: The chance to customize characters pre-launch. If Bungie grants this wish, a community of guardians could already be formed come launch day. Fans could take their time customizing the best guardian ever, and when launch day comes they can dive right into the game. Pre-launch customization would also allow gamers to share their creativity with the world—fans have discussed posting their guardian pics on a thread. And all of this would equal free advertisement for Bungie: If customization is this popular, then the game should be fun for sure! Ironically, the #1 character customization wish has left Destiny fans divided. A large number of fans feel that early customization will subtract from launch day excitement. They say that it might even become boring after a while. I understand this point, but I think early customization can only build anticipation. The more gamers experiment with their character, the more eager they will be to use that character come launch day. And if Bungie is concerned about holding gamer interest, then they can simply launch this feature one week prior to launch day. Each of these wishes would have a positive effect on gameplay. A phone app would give gamers more time to play; deep customization and more than one playable character equals more versatile gameplay; and finally, pre-launch character customization would build anticipation among fans, attract new fans, and give gamers more gameplay time on launch day. Will Bungie grant these wishes? I don’t know, but they’re listening—so keep talking.
  2. This Topic will be Halo 5 2014 member posts that I find will be posted in here for now on. So I won't be creating a lot of topics. Transformers Universe Launching This Summer. http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Transformers-Universe-Launching-Summer-62112.html Jagex announced today that they're months away from launching Transformers Universe. They also explained why they haven't released many details on the game lately. "2013 was a critical year in the evolution of Transformers Universe," said Jagex CEO and CTO Mark Gerhard on the game's website. "It was essential that we just knuckled down and got on with the core gameplay, and that unfortunately meant there was not much news to share for anyone outside of Jagex. However from today onwards you can expect regular updates, and soon all start participating first-hand as the game moves from core development, through each stage of community participation, balancing, polish and iteration." Transformers Universe is inspired by the visual style of the Prime animated series. That won't be the sole inspiration for the game, though. Jagex has said in the past that the game will draw from various Transformer works. Universe was first envisioned as an MMORPG. Now, though, Gerhard describes it as a "massively online tactical action game." Players will lead a squad of Autobots or Decepticons into battle with and against players. Each Transformer has their own weapons and augments. It's up to the player to decide on a strategy that makes full use of their unique capabilities. "Legendary" Transformer characters - Optimus Prime and the gang, I guess - appear in the game as well. It's unknown whether they'll actually participate in battles, though. Jagex is promising additional details on this aspect of the game soon. The first thing on the developer's to-do list is to release a gameplay trailer and screenshots showing off some of the characters. They'll also provide information on the features and modes of Universe. Last we heard, the game uses an updated version of RuneScape engine and I'm very curious to see how Jagex has upgraded their old tech. Before Transformers Universe officially launches, Jagex will hold a beta test. They haven't announced a start date yet. However, you can sign up now at their website. You'll have to choose your faction and your commander name when you register so you've got some thinking to do. "2014 is the launch year for Transformers Universe and the start of an epic journey as you #testyourmetal," Gerhard said. "Soon you’ll be able to experience this for yourself as we roll out to BETA. I look forward to seeing you on the frontlines." http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=h5T6qEOCPsQ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ‘The Flash’ set to shoot in Vancouver in March http://globalnews.ca/news/1109902/the-flash-set-to-shoot-in-vancouver-in-march/ TORONTO — The Flash is coming to Vancouver. The pilot for a potential series based on the character with superhuman speed is set to be shot in Vancouver in March. Grant Gustin, best known as the Warbler who tried to break up Chris Colfer’s Kurt and Darren Criss’ Blaine on Glee, plays the titular character and his alter ego Barry Allen. The pilot will also star Jesse L. Martin (Law & Order), Rick Cosnett (The Vampire Diaries) and Danielle Panabaker (Necessary Roughness). Gustin, 24, was in Vancouver last year to guest star as Barry Allen on several episodes of Arrow. The Flash, created for DC Comics by Gardner Fox and Harry Lampert, debuted in Flash Comics in 1940. John Wesley Shipp played the lead role in the 1990 TV series The Flash. It lasted one season.
  3. Update: 2-5-2014 I found this while browsing through a website that I find Information about Destiny and also Halo 5, but this one is update Destiny. Destiny could hit 10 million lifetime sales. http://www.vg247.com/2014/02/05/destiny-could-hit-10-million-lifetime-sales/ Activision’s Call of Duty franchise “vulnerable” in shooter genre in first year of new console cycle, says analyst. “We are very concerned that the first full year of a new console cycle is the most likely time for consumers to switch gaming brands, and with several new choices available, we think CoD is particularly vulnerable” Bungie’s forthcoming sci-fi shooter Destiny could sell 10 million units during its lifetime, according to optimistic analysts at Cowen & Company. Alongside new Blizzard title Hearthstone, the titles will help publisher Activision make up for declines in the Call of Duty series, which is starting to see serious signs of fatigue at retail. “Unit sales of Activision’s market-leading shooter were down 26 percent year-on-year in Q4:13,” wrote the company in an investors note. “The game was poorly reviewed, which we believe was a culprit in the disappointing performance (which was almost certainly below management’s expectations).” “Heading into 2014, the franchise is likely to face competition from four to six other shooter genre titles, including heavyweight next-gen IPs Titanfall (EA) and the company’s own Destiny. “We are very concerned that the first full year of a new console cycle is the most likely time for consumers to switch gaming ‘brands’, and with several new choices available, we think CoD is particularly vulnerable. We are reducing our FY14 title estimate to 16 million units lifetime, down from peak levels of ~25 million units in 2010-12.” Activision will announce its financial results tomorrow (Thursday) and is expected to just squeak past expectations from the market. Cowen & Company are looking towards 2014 new console cycle and the free-to-play mobile business for uplifts in the publishers performance. “We believe Activision’s collaboration with Bungie, Destiny, is probably the most anticipated title of the year among the gaming community. “We expect the game to sell very well, and are modeling 10 million units in lifetime sales, with potentially significant upside. However, in some ways we are even more enthusiastic about Blizzard’s free-to-play card game Hearthstone, for four reasons: expectations are relatively low; it is based on the wildly successful Warcraft IP; it will be available on mobile devices later this year; and finally, we have played it and think it is uniquely great.”
  4. Next Xbox One update revealed - release date, screenshot and details. http://www.totalxbox.com/70715/next-xbox-one-update-revealed-release-date-screenshot-and-details/ Microsoft will release an Xbox One system update on Tuesday 11th February, chief product officer Marc Whitten has just announced on Xbox Wire. Among other things, it'll fine-tune the console's dashboard, improve Kinect voice commands and introduce the ability to manage storage. Here's the very first screenshot of the revised dashboard. What do you think?  "Just as we did with Xbox 360, Xbox One will have regular updates to deliver new features and platform experiences designed to delight you," the exec wrote in a blog post. "On February 11, the first update will be delivered to customers who sign into their Xbox One. "It features many new improvements - including lots of behind-the-scenes updates for developers building apps and games for Xbox One, several new features we believe Xbox fans will love, stability and product updates to improve the customer experience, and continuous improvements to the quality of Kinect voice so commands become more fluid and responsive over time. "While we won't be going into all of the details of the product updates today, we will be sharing more information soon. " Here are "just a few" of the features that will be introduced by the 11th February update: The ability to see and manage your storage space. With this update, you will find it easy to find how much space your content takes up and better manage your content. You can also control your install lineup and more easily manage your download queue. We've separated My Games and My Apps into separate lists, so you can easily create separate queues for both. Now you can pick the order in which you want your content to load and we've added a boot progress indicator so you can better track updates while they load. The battery power indicator is back! You can see it right on the home screen, so you can easily track how much battery life is left on your controller. And, you will be able to use your USB keyboard with your Xbox One. Another update will follow on 4th March "to prepare your Xbox One for Titanfall" - it will offer "many new features and improvements," most significantly a "new party and multiplayer system". "This post is the first of many announcements and sneak peeks at features in the system updates," Whitten added. "We've been carefully listening to your feedback and look forward to delivering many new features that will make Xbox One even better. We're just getting started and can't wait to share more information in the coming weeks."
  5. I will contribute to this tomorrow so i can play on Saturday for this.

  7. I hope it is for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. Also I hope it includes a lot of pre order items and I hope that has the ranking system from 1 through 50.
  8. Halo 2 Anniversary available for pre-order. The rumour of a Halo 2 Anniversary had returned to the load after several months in silence, but it ranges from good train, since according to the Spanish merchant site XtraLife, you can gold and already pre-order it on Xbox One. Nothing ensures that this purchase will guarantee to obtain the title, since it seems that Halo 5 is also available for purchase, without yet formalized itself also, and this from the Microsoft store . The announced date? On November 11, 2014, as usual. It remains only to wait for a confirmation. Next? And who knows, a Collector pack giving you access to Halo 2 Anniversary and Halo 5 by the end of the year?
  9. Gears of War Xbox ONE Possibilities – GoW 4… Or Something Else? http://realgamernewz.com/27190/gears-of-war-xbox-one-possibilities-gow-4-or-something-else Something that many Gears fans might not know is that in all actuality, the humans in the Gears Of War franchise are considered to be “the bad guys” by the majority of beings found in the game. This is shown after they’ve destroyed everything, at the end of Gears 3, and the Locust Queen basically calls all of mankind ‘villains’ while providing some supportive reasons as to why. Personally, I don’t think Marcus and the crew are exactly “bad”, but the majority of the human race? Yes, for sure. Now a new Gears Of War is headed our way as Microsoft has acquired the rights to the franchise and plan to do something with it for their next-generation Xbox ONE console. A year after the Locust came up, 90% of the planet was destroyed and 80% of the human population destroyed even themselves, which explains all the dust people and why some view the humans as savage and irrational. The COG also knew the locust were going to invade for years because of the lambent, but this destruction came from their own technology. Gears of War: Judgment’s story is Baird’s own personal story, it’s not the big picture as shown in the trilogy. Gears Of War on Xbox ONE could potentially explore the possibility that the Locust are not really good guys, they captured humans, beat them, raped them, ate them, and more. But they aren’t totally in the wrong either; the humans are really bad to each other and other species as well. So it’s like two dirt bag species just fighting each other without much gain on either end, just destruction for all. Eventually this has to be explained in the franchise, or come to a point where things boil over – or even less likely, change. Halo is kind of like that too in some ways, and this has been addressed in their plot lines throughout the series as well. This series could end up being used as a guide for how to create the Xbox ONE plot lines for the Gears Of War games coming up, either way there are definitely lessons to learn from how Bungie and 343i handled things. In Halo 4 the Didact hates humans for many reasons and wants to enslave them all and turn them into his Promethean knights. Master Chief stops him because – let’s be honest he doesn’t do anything else. When you really think about it, Master Chief is an extremely flawed character who was captured by the human government, tortured, turned into a super human through agonizing treatments, brainwashed to be a sociopath and psychopath killing machine (sound familiar), and then finally gains feelings at the end of Halo 4 for Cortana but doesn’t understand them Humans in Halo after Halo 3 are becoming more like humans in Gears; arrogant and cruel. One big conflict (the Covenant) brought them together for a while but the writing on the wall spells out ‘it won’t last forever’. Gears Of War on Xbox ONE could possibly be a legit and essential Gears Of War 4 entry in the series. Due to a character in Gears 3 called Aaron Griffon, a former billionaire who made his money off of the same stuff that made everyone lambent, having created his own small society when Marcus and crew showed up then they all died. Aaron obviously hated the COG for what they did to the planet. He told Fenix they would settle this again someday and flipped him off. He said no matter where the COG go and what they do the leave a trail of death. All of this gives plenty of motive for this character to possibly become either a new villain for the series or a rebel hero archetype, as well as provide enough exhilarating events to propel the series forward beyond the so-called end that players were prevented with in GoW 3. Some Locust may have survived the extinction event that was caused at the end of Gears 3, but if Locust is exclusively what GoW 4 has to offer we could all end up very disappointed. It seems that past themes and influences will be in place but as a background fixture to keep the core essence of the franchise alive. The other possibility is that Microsoft and their development studio could go the Prequel route with a game about the war before E-day, or even another event during the COG War possibly providing an open world / MMO style of game pitting players as Locust and COG. Everything remains to be seen, and feel free to voice your opinions / predictions / fan requests for the game companies developing the next Gears Of War games to consider. Follow Our Gears Of War Section for the latest info, trailers, and more.

  12. Halo 5 Fan Made Xbox One Controller is Fantastic. http://www.gameranx.com/updates/id/20118/article/halo-5-fan-made-xbox-one-controller-is-fantastic/ A fan of the Halo franchise, Nicholas Kruse, has put together a mock-up of the Xbox One controller with aesthetics based on the upcoming title in the series, Halo 5. Going by the handle iProtilge on Reddit, the designer is fielding questions over on the Halo subreddit. The game the Xbox One controller is based on, Halo 5, was officially announced as "Halo" at E3 last year during Microsoft's press conference announcing the Xbox One. Apart from the trailer, which showed the Master Chief walking through a desert while covered in a cloak, details about the game itself are relatively nonexistent as 343 Industries, which is developing the game, have yet to reveal any exciting new details about it. A high resolution version of the image can be found here.

  15. EXCLUSIVE: Take A Guess Who’s Directing Spielberg Produced ‘Halo’ Pilot! http://latino-review.com/2014/01/exclusive-take-guess-whos-directing-spielberg-produced-halo-pilot/ Remember back in the spring during the upfronts when the news broke that Steven Spielberg would be producing a live-action series based on the Halo game universe? The series, which will be available on Xbox Live, will be produced in conjunction with the Halo’s developer 343 Industries. During the Xbox One announcement in Redmond, Washington, Microsoft’s president of entertainment and digital media Nancy Tellem said the following: “TV on the Xbox One will immerse you, allowing you to virtually jump into the action. It’s truly personalized. It will provide recommendations with amazing precision. It’s truly social. Xbox is about to become the next water cooler. And this is only Act One.” Spielberg added the following: “The Halo universe is an amazing opportunity to be at an intersection where technology and myth-making converge.” You know who is directing the Halo pilot? According to trusted sources, I’m hearing none other than NEIL BLOMKAMP! For those of you who have been living under a rock the last few years, back in 2007, Blomkamp directed a trilogy of live-action short films set in the Halo universe, to promote the release of Halo 3. Blomkamp was then slated to direct his first feature-length film, an adaptation of the Halo series of video games, produced by Peter Jackson. The Halo movie then completely imploded and Blomkamp went on to make a hot little movie set in South Africa that became a worldwide smash hit called District 9. At first when I heard the news I was a little confused given the history between Blomkamp and Halo. Then again, with Spielberg on board as producer, Microsoft now in complete control of their IP, & Blomkamp now a major player, it seems doable. What are your thoughts on Blomkamp revisiting Halo? Chime in below!
  16. Solving this Titanfall mystery could earn you an Xbox One. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/solving-this-titanfall-mystery-could-earn-you-an-xbox-one/1100-6417340/ It appears that Microsoft has launched a mysterious marketing campaign to promote Titanfall, and investigating it further might earn you an Xbox One bundle and other rewards if you live in the UK. A Reddit user was the first to notice that Microsoft's "Invitation" television commercial was a little different than usual, with the ad stuttering and cutting away to pieces of binary code and an image of a briefcase. The binary code then led users to several websites, including http://gl16790101.com/, where you can find the terms and conditions for the "Glitch Contest." They state that the contest started on Jan. 23, and that it will end Feb. 23. You must be over 18 and a resident in the UK to participate. "The entrant must complete the pre-determined steps that form a path with a dedicated start and end point. These have been created by parties working with Microsoft," the site reads. Prizes include an "Xbox console bundle," "14 Xbox items," digitally signed artwork, signed comics, game artwork, and codes for in-game extras. Reddit users have found several links and images that indicate the promotion is linked to Titanfall. One address references Hammond Robotics, the fictional companies in Titanfall that produces its giant mechs, and Respawn also tweeted "No hints!" when fans asked it directly about the meaning of one of the images.
  17. Rumor: Xbox One Sharpening Filter on Track to be Fixed Before Titanfall’s Release. http://www.spawnfirst.com/news/rumor-xbox-one-sharpening-filter-track-fixed-titanfalls-release/ Not a stranger to insider news, famousmortimer recently stated that Microsoft would be fixing up the much talked about sharpening filter before Titanfall is released. The sharpening filter is the Xbox One’s solution to games on the system that run at sub-1080p resolutions. The scaler on the Xbox One graphically resolves any such games and appears to apply the sharpening filter (that sometimes over-sharpens) to games that are not natively 1080p. This was a big source of discussion at NeoGAF back in November in a thread started by madmackem. He stated: “So having read about xboxone scaler and how it darkens and over sharpens things i was worried, i booted up cod ghosts on 360 and then booted it up on my xboxone. Same settings etc and there it was clear as day even in the lobby menu. Xboxone over sharpens things way too much, anyone who is into setting up there tvs will know what it is and it jumps out like a sore thumb, the worse thing is you cant negate it, turning down sharpness etc in your tv settings doesnt remove it. For those who dont know what to look for google it its like haloing around the text. The game is made to look nearly as bad as the 360 version as the upped textures etc are being over sharpened within an inch of there lives and it adds even more jaggies.” – madmackem The scaler’s effects were noticeable in Dead Rising 3. “The sharpening and filtering is ludicrous, it’s like locking your television set in torch mode. Great for people that don’t know **** about image quality without discerning taste, horrid for people that understand how content is supposed to look. If I was working on a game and I know it’d be fed through that scaler I’d weep tears of sadness. It’s doubly sad because the 360 has one of the most natural looking scalers around imo, and multiplats tend to look better on my 360 because the scaler it has surpasses the performance of the one included on my television set.” – FloatingDivider It seems as if the sharpening filter scaler that Microsoft has implemented on the Xbox One still needs a lot of work, though I’m very confident that they’ll get the technology done in earnest before the bulk of the Xbox One heavy-hitters start coming out. Or so I hope.
