  1. Thanks for the suggestions guys I spoke to GDS I think I know what I'm going for now.
  2. I'm looking for a new laptop it's not for gaming it's just for general use youtube, browsing the forums, watching shows etc. Money is a bit tight at the moment so I'm looking to get a cheap one around £200 max, can someone give me some advice what to get or where I can get it online? I did look on amazon but a lot of them are £300 or more and that's too expensive for me at the moment. Any help would be appreciated. I know that if I was going to get one for gaming I'd need to know what specs but do laptops for general use still need a good level of specs? Sorry if that is a stupid question I'm not good when it comes to this sort of thing.
  3. According to "respected sources" given to VG247 Microsoft will be lowering the price of the Xbox One sometime this year. VG247 reported that it will fall down to the price of the price the PS4 "Microsoft has told trusted publishing partners that it will release a new model Xbox One before the end of the year, a senior source has confirmed to VG247. Although the source was unable to confirm that the system will be disc-less and feature a bluetooth adaptor, the new console will be priced cheaper than the current $499 model. Upon release, Microsoft would likely drop the price of the current Xbox One model, placing it in the same price point as Sony’s PlayStation 4." There has been quite a lot of rumors buzzing around regarding Microsoft this week, mostly coming from Neogaf by the user of "ntkrnl". There has been several rumors including a Halo 2 anniversary edition being set to release this year and Halo 5 being delayed as many of you may already know. But many of us were unsure on how to take these rumors but according to Kotaku nktrnl is connected to microsoft and they are seeking legal action against these leaks. "So how valid is this stuff? Well, thanks to a reliable source, I've been able to confirm that ntkrnl is indeed connected to Microsoft, although I haven't been able to verify any of the poster's claims. Just because the leaker is in a position to know this information doesn't mean this information is true. (When I reached out this morning, Microsoft declined to comment.)" Another Kotaku statement. "On top of all that, according to one person familiar with the situation who spoke to me under condition of anonymity, Microsoft is currently trying to track down and identify ntkrnl. According to that person, Microsoft executives are looking to take legal action against ntkrnl, which, again, doesn't mean that everything he says is true." 12. A rumor has risen that Halo 2 anniversary edition is set to come out this year according to neogaf member "ntkrnl", a newly mod verified source. Now rumors for a Halo 2 anniversary have come up before but neogaf is known to be reliable as it is a very exclusive site and holds a heavy verification process to all members and posts, any posts that are unreliable results in the member getting banned pretty quickly, it is also a site that many game devs post on. Ntkrnl has went through the verification process and he has been allowed to continue posting after the Halo 2 anniversary post. Here is what he said "What has me excited right now is the revisiting of Halo. So later this year we're gonna get Halo 2 Anniversary edition WITH ALL SORTS OF ****. On Xbox One. November 11th! Halo 2 Anniversary Edition - Halo 5 beta access Halo real time show... think Forward Unto Dawn (not the Spielberg stuff) Someone told me there was going to be an alternative f*cking ending. " http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=98866107&postcount=1 Not only does he speak about Halo 2 anniversary he also mentions that it will come with access to a Halo 5 beta and will see another live action series similar to forward unto dawn. What is also interesting is that we had recent tweets from Major Nelson that seemed to be a little suspicious talking about how he's fascinated by bee's. This led many people to speculate that another I Love Bee's ARG was coming thus leaving many people to believe he was teasing at Halo 2 Anniversary. https://twitter.com/majornelson/status/421676373443239936 What was even more interesting is that 405th Infantry Division (the company that made the viral campaigns for Halo 4) tweeted "HALT - MODULE CORE HEMORRHAGE - Truth?" two day's after Major Nelsons tweet. That is a direct quote from ilovebees.com. https://twitter.com/405thSource/status/422566604690685952 So could this rumor hold some value this time around? Either way it should still be taken with a grain of salt. 14. According to CVG Neil Blomkamp may be directing the pilot episode of the Halo TV series, the series was announced at the Xbox One reveal last year and Steven Spielberg will be in partnership with it. Neil Blomkamp created live action shorts "Landfall" to promote Halo 3 and he was set to direct a Halo movie but was later canceled. This was originally reported on Latino Review, no official public announcement has confirmed this but they stated the news came from trusted sources. "You know who is directing the Halo pilot?" "According to trusted sources, I’m hearing none other than NEIL BLOMKAMP!" What do you think of this news? If reports are accurate would you like to see Neil Blomkamp direct the pilot and then go on to direct the whole series?

  18. UK online retailer Zavvi is currently selling the standard edition of the Xbox One for £409.99, that's £20 cheaper than the RRP. I know this is barely a price big price drop at all compared to it's RRP and there certainly wouldn't be one this quick after launch but could this be the very beginning of prices drops for the Xbox One? Well it's hard to tell as this is just one company that seems to be doing it, it could be that they aren't quite shifting as much Xbox One's as expected, but I think it may be worth keeping an eye one as other retailers may begin to do the same thing to compete. 20. Reddit user CitadelSaint has set up a site called xboxie.com that has a collection of HTML5 internet games that we can play on our Xbox using our controller. After he learned that these types of games work on the Xbox Internet Explorer using the controller he searched for games and put together the site. "The name XBOXIE is (Xbox + IE) but pronounced “Xboxy”. As most of HTML 5 games are designed with Keyboard in mind it means there is very little with controller support. After googling for hours to find working games I decided to put together a site with every game I've test and I know that works." There are a total of 38 games on the site at the moment but there are more on the way say's the reddit user in his post "Over the next week I will be adding hundreds of games to the site (But I've been programming all today so I've decided to give myself a break)" He states he will be contacting indie dev's who make these types of games and ask to put in controller support so that they are playable on consoles. We can also submit games to the site, if anyone has discovered any other games that work on the Xbox's IE and that are playable with the controller we can submit games to the site by clicking the submit button at the top if the page and he will add them to the database. Check out the site xboxie.com
  21. In Bungie's latest podcast there has been a mention of competitive multiplayer map's "These maps are specifically designed 100 percent from the ground up to be awesome for competitive multiplayer," Competitive multiplayer design lead Lars Bakken said. Despite Bungie showing major elements of sociable gameplay and features it appears Bungie is definitely bringing competitiveness among players to Destiny. We will possibly see a range of competitive game types and maps. Polygon highlighted other parts of the podcast where Tyson Green, Destiny's investment lead says about Destiny bringing in a wide range of players as Destiny hold's a lot of elements from role playing to an action shooter "We are going into an interesting space, where we are a shooter, we are an action game, we are a game that a lot of people out are really familiar with and they love and they spend a lot of time playing and we are trying to bring some additional elements to that." He also says, "The goal is so that you have this game that you come back to and that your friends come back to, and when you're all coming back to the game, and you all feel like you want to keep playing this game. Then you have a social game at that point. You actually have a cooperative experience, a community experience." According to Lars Bakken the skill you use within Destiny will "go beyond thumb stick abilities and quick fingers" you must understand on how you equip yourself and look at the choices you make.
