  1. Sword block doesn't require skill and is entirely random. There is no specific timing for the melee, nor is there any proper way to do it. It's a random event that punishes the sword-wielder for being smart enough to use the sword in its niche, a close quarter situation. You cannot block the shotgun, so why can you block the sword? Sword block makes no sense and adds randomness to the game, which lessens the skil gap.
  2. If by easier you mean taking less shots, then yes. However, everyone's got this supposed advantage (though how your bullets going where you aim is an advantage is beyond me) so it won't be easier to kill your opponent. Reach plays better without bloom. It makes more sense without bloom.
  3. Bloom is gone. Around the middle of the video, the DMR doesn't have bloom. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSrlaIJkm0M&feature=player_embedded
  4. The "Official Explanation of Bans Thread" was made by a community member, not a 343i employee. Therefore, it could be, and probably is, missing some information.
  5. Bungie was pretty good for most of their tenure. I've been on B.Net for over 2 years and I never saw any productive threads locked.
  6. I still detest the concept of AL, but this would work better than having it available to everyone. Though, at the end of the day, it never belonged in Halo, nor in any FPS.
  7. What I got from that is that you like bloom because it gives you a chance to kill a person who is more accurate than you.
  8. It's a power weapon. It's supposed to be that way. There's only one on the map, and it spawns once every 3 minutes.
  9. Sword Block is just another example of Bungie catering to the lesser talented.
  10. Team Slayer, MLG if I have friends on (which I never do any more).

    Forge World Maps

I actually quit BTB after they added all the new community maps. As bad as Paradiso was, it's 39039103 times better than Abridged and the like.
  12. Forge World maps need more playtesting and should adhere to more stringent standards before being placed in matchmaking. Of the current crop of Forge World maps in Team Slayer, I can think of three that are absolutely horrid off of the top of my head: Think Twice, Precipice, and Select. Of these three, Precipice is the worst. The layout makes absolutely no sense and is entirely dependent on radar usage. The team spawns and weapon spawns are horrid, and map movement is confusing and slow-paced due to the design of the map. It's terrible. TL;DR: Playtest maps more/create higher standards for community maps. Note: Some maps, such as Rebirth and Synapse, are very well done and rival Bungie maps (Rebirth is fantastic and Synapse looks and plays wonderfully).
  13. It's hard to capture the flag if you're on your death screen 24/7. The team that out-slays will win an objective gametype more often than not.
  14. Removing the ability to shoot while jetpacking would make it the weakest AA of all.
  15. I bag them back the first chance I get, and make sure to piss them off as much as possible for the rest of the match. If I'm crushing them and they get a lucky kill and bag, I'll send them a message <3
  16. How many did you have? Also we're so far away from the original topic lulz, enough of this.
  17. If you're good enough to go undefeated all the way to 50 then you deserve the 50. Also, you're grossly exaggerating how easy it was to get a 50.
  18. No one who got boosted to 50 ever played on it in ranked. They'd be slaughtered, lose it immediately, and be taunted by everyone in that game. Thus, fake 50s hardly affected matchmaking. And rank in Halo 3 does mean something. All good players have 50s, but not all 50s are good players.

    343i Flares

I want them to come out with a damn website first.
  20. Do you have a source for this sneaky fashion thing? And I can't really blame myself for being sword blocked when it's completely random. I'm not going to ignore the kill if I have a huge advantage merely because there's a 15% chance he could stick his arm out and block my immensely powerful weapon.
  21. General Grade 1 as you can see in my sig, almost Grade 2. I don't get to play nearly as much as I'd like (not during school week, rarely during summer because I'm at my summer home) but oh well.
  22. When I have sword, if it's a 1v1 battle, I like to switch to my DMR immediately after the lunge in case I get sword blocked. That way, I can usually kill the guy, because he's 1 shot. Keep in mind I only do this when I can see there's no one else around, and that it's not perfect.
  23. He's got the sword, he's not going to run away from a close quarters encounter. Sword Block is just another example of the skill gap being lessened in order to cater to the masses and the less talented. It should be removed; it doesn't even make sense. My arm can block the sword randomly but usually if I get hit by it, I die instantly? What?
  24. Of the guns available off spawn in Slayer/Slayer DMRs, yes, although I wouldn't say medium range; the DMR would win that.
  25. Are you kidding? The magnum has crazy amounts of bloom. It's only effective at close range because of this. DMR vs Sniper at medium range is a toss up, and really depends on how you define medium range. Also, after one body shot the person with sniper would pull out their secondary weapon to clean up the kill in a typical matchmaking game.
