This new breed of munitions is evidence of an adaptive society. Jonathan Goff, an expert on Guardian militaria, tells a story about turning the weapons of one's enemies against them. “Advancements in directed energy disbursement were gained through dissection of hostile tech gathered in the field. The first implementation of this new technology comes in the form of Fusion Rifles.”

Fortune favors the brave, we’re told. Bravery, it turns out, is requisite for anyone fortunate enough to wield a Fusion Rifle. “One of the first working prototypes was deemed too unstable for mass production,” recalls Goff. “Despite the concerns over faulty radiation shielding, the weapon's incredible power as made it a favorite of daring weapons collectors.”

Newer generations of Fusion Rifles have solved some of these problems through slow and painful innovation. “The barrel configuration on this model dampens the wattage use needed to power the inertial chamber,” observes Art Lead Tom Doyle. The technical jargon translates to brute force that any Guardian would value. “Its over-penetrating burst fire is ideal for taking out multiple targets at once.”

The Conduit F3 is next generation hardware for killing the bad guys who deserve it. Charge it up, and let it off the chain.

Bungie has given out Destiny codes to the community to unlock certain things in the game, it is unknown what these codes unlock at the moment as it tells you to check back in 2014 to see what you have unlocked.

Here are the codes and they have each been given name that relates to the game, so this could be a hint what the codes give us, possibly some kind of exclusive access to weapons, armor etc. It is unknown that if the unlocked contents can be used in the beta but more news will probably surface regarding that.

Microsoft has announced plans for a worldwide

Xbox One promotional tour.

The Xbox One team is giving you a rare chance to get your hands on the goodies

before everyone else can.

This will begin on Oct 1, 2013 and go on until the end of the year.

The tour will give consumers the chance to go hands-on with games including Forza 5, Ryse, Killer Instinct, Dead Rising 3, Kinect Sports Rivals, Crimson Dragon, Max: Curse of the Brotherhood, Zoo Tycoon and Minecraft. While attendance is free of charge, it's limited to those over 18 years of age and space will be limited.

Xbox One will also be playable at Milan Games Week (Oct 25 - 27), Paris Games Week (Oct 30 - Nov 3), and Madrid Games Week (Nov 7 - 10).

Additionally, custom Xbox One 'Test Drive' vehicles will offer hands-on time at festivals, university campuses, retail centres and other locations across the UK, Germany, France, US and Canada in the coming months.

on their drawing board,

this week that weapon is called the Silver Dollar Shotgun.

Heres what

They're back.

As most of you have noticed, it's been some time now since our weekly custom game playdates were running, and even longer since the days of full lobbies and lengthy play sessions. Some of you no doubt thought that they were gone forever - that we'd given up on the dwindling lobbies and decided that there was no point in continuing, that with so few of our members able to attend we'd chosen to focus our energy on finding other ways to interact with the community.

But here at 343industries.org, we're nothing if not resilient: our staff saw in the ever-shrinking numbers of players not a fate to be accepted, but a challenge to be overcome. We knew that even if the existing system of lobbies weren't working, the one thing you can guarantee about a forum full of Halo fans is that if there's one thing they all love, it's playing Halo with their friends and fellow members. And so instead of simply shrugging off our playdates as a failure, we set out to make them better than ever, to make them so good that they would be completely unmissable.

Introducing the Future.

From now on, instead of just holding a playdate where you can get together with your fellow forum-goers for a few rounds of Halo every weekend, we'll be announcing a small number of individually-chosen, specially-selected Community Events every month. We've put a huge amount of work into exploring every corner of the Halo fandom to compile a collection of the finest maps, minigames, and content for use in our new Community Events, and we're going to continue to add to that with new ideas and material every single day. From now on, interacting with the community won't just be restricted to playdates every week: instead, while the opportunity to kill your fellow members for points will most certainly be returning, we also have a whole slew of new contests, tournaments, and prize giveaways that we can't wait to introduce, covering every aspect of the Halo universe: regardless of whether you want to take on Halo's gamer elite in a fast and fair competitive setting, forge masterpieces worthy of the Forerunners themselves, or delve into the mysteries of the expanded universe, we have something that you're going to love.

As you all may know by now, Valve had a very special week last week. It was their transition to living room gaming, potentially as a rivalry with the upcoming Xbox One, and Playstation 4. They had a 3-Part announcement all week.

One.

As you may know, the first announcement was about Steam OS... a Linux based operating system designed for gaming in the living room.

Two.

Second, was on Wednesday. Steam Machines was announced, which most know as the "Steam Box". Specifications will be customizable, as Valve is promoting hacking, and modding. Select companies, will have certification to make their own Steam Machines... an Alienware Steambox, anyone?

Three...

This is the best innovation I've seen in, well, 2-3 years actually. The next controller for PC's (any version of Steam) , and the Steam Machines will be:

THE STEAM CONTROLLER!!

It's beautiful. Let me explain people...

The two discs on each side, are track pads. Now they are track pads, and they are clickable as well,

and in some situations, DO FUNCTION AS speakers!!

Then, in the center is a High-Resolution touch screen, that is a second screen in most cases,

and can be used to scroll, etc. It's stunning.

Then you have 4 buttons around it, 3 under the screen, and then on the back of the handle,

you have two big ones - basically a clickable handle.

Then, the triggers, of course.

In fact, here is a controller layout for Portal 2 that Valve provided:

It Has Innovation Written All Over It.

It differs greatly from our commonly know Xbox and PlayStation "Dual Shock" controllers.

Linux Based OS For

The TV and Living Room

This will allow steam to have:

Better Graphics Processing - "Game Developers" are already availing themselves

to these performance perks "as they target SteamOS for their new releases"

You can Stream games from you Windows or Mac system to a SteamOS machine.

You will also be able to stream "Music, TV, and Movies" - Valve Says it's "working with

many of the media services you know and love." No names yet but we can assume

they want to compete with Roku/AppleTV.

PS4 to Xbox: Cross Platforming?

A really cool article here by Cooliest. It's about the PS4 being able to snap the Xbox One's HDMI cable and vice versa. It basically means you can have both systems running at the same time and switch between them instantaneously because the connectors are the same. I still don't have a good grasp on how it works honestly even after Cooliest explained it to me but you need to give it a read so you can figure it out for yourself.

Actually a billiant idea. There's a lot more to this thread than meets the eye. Member pyro6666 has actually sent this message across all Halo Communities to demonstrate the importance of being a unified, single, whole, Halo Community. No need to link you to the thread, even though I aleady did, because this is all there is to it. The genius of it however comes with our MoM Zandril's explanation.

Xbox One can read the HDMI signal from a PS4 and thus allow

Microsoft's console to host Sony's, an executive has confirmed.

Because of the Xbox One's HDMI-in port, users will be able to feed the PS4's HDMI cable into the rival system. The on-screen result would be a PS4 running within an Xbox One overlay.

Microsoft executive Albert Panello confirmed that Xbox One users could theoretically multi-task between both consoles.

"Any application can be snapped to a game... so if you wanted to be playing Ryse and Killzone at the same time, you could snap that," he said, as quoted by Gamespot.

Killzone is a PlayStation-owned IP, with a new instalment in the series due for the PS4's launch.

Panello's comments also imply that any games console outputting through an HDMI cable can be displayed on the Xbox One, from Xbox 360 to PS3.

The Xbox executive, who was speaking to gathered journalists at the Tokyo Game Show, also warned users against vertically standing their Xbox Ones.

How nice will it be to sit back, relax, and play both consoles without even thinking?

Halo Command - Browser Based Halo Strategy/RPG/Text Based Game

Started by a member by the name of Glitch100, Halo Command will be a browser based Halo game involving the aspects of Strategy/RPG/TBRPGs which is what makes it very interesting. I support Halo Command because it's just another step towards bringing back the love for the Halo Universe itself and not just the games and multiplayer which is what everyone's been focusing on since Halo 4 came out. Halo 4 Pan-Cam Feature!

Quite a find by a member by the name of Brett on our site. I've used Brett's video's before in the Wrapup so his name might be familiar to some of you whether it's from seeing it here or watching his videos when he posts them himself. Microsoft has aired the first North American Xbox One television ad,

to coincide with the start of the NFL football season.

As you'd expect the ad is heavy on NFL and, as Microsoft has done throughout its promotional campaign, highlights the various entertainment features of the new console, including Skype and TV functionality.

The Xbox One release date was confirmed this week as November 22, 2013. The console will launch in 13 markets including North America, UK and Australia simultaneously.

Speaking at a technology conference this week, Microsoft's Yusuf Mehdi said Microsoft believes it will break even or even profit marginally from sales of Xbox One at launch.

This differs from console launches in recent years, with firms usually taking a loss on early-life hardware sales with an eye to turning profits on software sales and services, and later on hardware following manufacturing cost reductions.
