Microsoft will offer an early look at their new music service, Woodstock, a codename, at E3 2012 according to The Verge. Microsoft is repositioning how they distribute media by moving away from Zune in favor of focusing on the more established Xbox media center. Woodstock is said to allow cross platform play for Android, iOS, Windows 8 and Xbox users.

The service will run in a browser and won't need plugins, similar to Spotify or Pandora. It will also tie-in with Facebook with friends and group playlists. Despite being displayed at this year E3, Microsoft does not plan on launching the service until later in 2012. It's possible the service will have a simultaneous launch with the Windows Phone 8.
