What exactly are the plans for the new Halo 2 maps?

There are going to be 6 remastered maps. But what about the others? Are the other maps not getting an update or a graphics bump at all?

nope none of the other maps are being upgraded only 6 of them are I know it's weird but thats how 343 is doing it but the remastered maps will also be available in the old engine too this is the same with Halo CEA there will be no remastered maps as those were in the Reach engine so Halo CEA maps will all be in the original 2001 engine

Every map in Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be running at 1080p, 60fps, but six maps from Halo 2 have been chosen to be remastered in a new Xbox One local engine, so far, Ascension, Coagulation, Lockout and Zanzibar have been confirmed / rumored, although other maps have been speculated...

> Ivory Tower

> Midship

> Waterworks

> Burial Grounds

The director's cut features, such as Assault Rifle and Gungoose, are exclusive to the remastered sandbox.

I think apart from the six anniversary edition maps (which are running on a new engine) all of Halo 2's multiplayer maps will still have their original graphics and it's just that they'll be running in widescreen with more pixels (so everything will be a bit clearer) and at 60fps. It's a bit of a shame, but at least it means that it's probably not going to feel any different from how it was back then!
