Horror Games

I have just started to get into this very unique style of games. If you can get through them they are some of the best and most entertaining games out there. I highly recommend you get out and give these games a try. But they are not for everyone.

 

Recommendations:

PC games:

 

(Look for indy games. they can be just as good as any other, and can be free to play.)

 

Amnesia: The Dark Decent

Amnesia also has user created custom stories that can even be better that the original game. Here are some of the best:

Cry of Fear:

(A Half Life one mod)

 

Slender:

(A good free game, and a good intro to the genre)

 

Black Snow:

(A Half Life 2 mod)

 

SCP-087-B:

(A free indy game, very well done)

 

SCP: Containment Breach

(A very unique game that I highly recommend)

 

Afraid of Monsters:

(Half-Life one mod)

 

Penumbra: The Black Plague

(A game from the makers of Amnesia, Frictional Games)

 

Nightmare House 2:

(Half Life 2 mod.)

 

Console Games:

(A shorter list, I do not know many good console horror games.)

 

Fear:

(Distubing 1st person shooter.)

 

Dead Space:

(Zombies and Sppaaacce! What else do you need to know?)

 

Silent Hill Series:

(Hellish and beyond terrifying)

 

Condemned:

(Not as scary as most, but a good intro to horror and fun to play)

They're all very good, I've played at least more than half of them. I heard that Slender's having a sequel or something like that soon.

Yeah, a lot of these indie games are good. I've played and/or seen most of them.

Favorite horror series is Dead Space, Fear, and Silent Hill. Never played the Silent Hill games myself but, my oldest sister did when we were kids and I would always watch her. I was like 10-13 at the time so it kind of freaked me out lol Dead Space though had me jump on more then one occasion when I first played it when it released. Fear never really scared me, it was just a nice FPS series that was something different.

Dark Souls

Left 4 Dead/Left 4 Dead2{Either of these two are good}

Any of the Silent Hills Prior to Homecoming. I havent played SH: Homecoming but the older SH games just have a certain "creepiness" about them that makes them better

Fatal Frame is one tho i do not know how good it is I never got around to buying it
