Covenant CQC weapon

anyone else think halo needs a new close quarters weapon for the covenant??

 

the humans have the shotgun, the prometheans have the scattershot...

 

i thinks its time the covies have their chance. I'm just looking to hear some cool ideas for this weapon. For example, would it be plasma based, needles, spikes, fuel rod, etc

Is the Gravity Hammer a covie weapon? I"ve never been to sure. But the sword counts. At least I would think so.

It belongs to the covenant but was made from reverse engineered forerunner technology. I think it sill counts as a covenant weapon, though.

Fair enough. It seems like the covie's have more mid range power weapons. Needler, Concussion Rifle.. But ultimately I like the balance of the weapons.

Wow, i never really took the sword and hammer into consideration.....

 

But if there's no brutes, then i see no reason to keep the hammer(except for custom games). so it may need a replacement weapon to change things up a bit

Anyways awhile back someone suggested a needle shotgun, I think that would look really cool and be really fun to use.

Now that's something I'd like to see!

 

Most Covenant weapons are already quite balanced toward close-quarters, though. They tend to do massive shield damage but have a weak effect on underlying health, which means they synergise with melee combat (which depends on depleting shields faster than the opponent).
