Do you eventually have to change Xbox 360 controllers?

My Xbox 360 controllers (wireless) have batteries. When we bought the game system, It obviously came with a white controller. We've had the controller for 2 years (3 years in December). Lately the controller has been disconnecting. Like yesterday, my brother changed the batteries for it, and the controller kept disconnecting still? And we checked to see the battery level and it was still fully charged. What's wrong with it? Is it just the controller? Should we buy a new one?

You should probably be saving yourself an arm and a leg by getting a recharge kit for your controllers.

In terms of durability, it really boils down to how the controller is used by the user. If it is thrown against the wall repeatedly, dropped, stepped on, etc then it will start to wear and tear. These controllers are designed to be incredibly durable but like all technology, over use/age will lead to a general deterioration and potential compromised integrity

That being said, 2-3 years isn't that long but it could be faulty if it keeps losing its ability to pair up with your Xbox 360
