No. It's not the assault rifle. Idk much about it yet. I will post if I find more info

I heard that they were different weapons though... Maybe, you're right.

 

Edit: Searched for "Assault Carbine" on the Halo wiki and the first thing on the list was the Storm Rifle.

Where did you hear that.

 

I don't remember if they said whether or not the assault Carbine would be available as a starting primary weapon. But it seems to me that the storm rifle is going to be one.
