  1. Everyone who has ever played a Halo game is intimatly familiar with the covenants first choice in cannon fodder, the grunts. Now, being designated as cannon fodder usually implys lack of good training/equipment/job satisfaction and generally everything else that makes an effective soldier, but if they WEREN'T some what effective in combat, why would the covenant wouldnt use them right? My point in all this is that through out every halo game, grunts seem to only ever receive the barest amount of adjustments. they really never get any smarter, faster, or tougher in any gamee. thats fine because they a kind of a pathetic race to begin with anyways, but then some would ask "why keep putting them in?"...well, because they're adorable and fill up space/time, and give the player more to shoot at (and they're good for witty banter), but how to make them a little more interesting without changing them to much? Well, lets look at how grunts do their thing and why. so the grunts are basiclly slaves to the covenant/elites who are forced to either fight on front lines and die, or carry out the most dangerous/heavy/dirty work, and above all else protect their leader. they're primary strengths in combat are their large numbers, the limited pieces of heavy weaponry they can opperate, and they're strength for their size. So this is what i was thinking: what if grunts came in squads with specific configuration to achieve certain tasks in game. for example; squad of 3 grunts, two of them have special harnesses with little mechanical control arms on the shoulders and the 3rd has a large plasma cannon folded up on his back. the first 2 drop to all fours then the 3rd mounts the cannon on their shoulders. there, now you've turned 3 normally pretty harmless enemies into a moving heavy weapon support team. more to come later, but im at work now, and its time to go home.
  2. Hello, I'd just like to say thank you for taking the time to read this post. These are my top 5 ideas that I would like to see in Halo 5. Firefight forgable gametype make firefight a gametype in forge and custom games, or at the very least covenant and forerunner AI to place down, and they randomly traverse the map or stay in an area you set for them. Weapon/Armour skin creator the skins in Halo 4 were cool and all, but it would be better if you could create your own skins for the armour or weapons, this way it would be your personal armour and weapon and it would fit better into the way Multiplayer was meant to play out. Better Helmet view in multiplayer In the campaign the helmel view was amazing, I felt that I was Mastercheif because of it, where you saw bits of the helmet, that was amazing, but it would be better(now i know this would take a lot of effort, money, and bandwidth) if there were bits of the helmet in the first person view, and different types depending on the helmet worn. Better Spartan ops Spartan Ops was great and all, but I found me and my friends only playing for the Xp not the story or the fun, it needs more and better maps, with better objectives. Forgeable Pelican Flying one in Sp was cool, but we asked for "forgeable" even as scenery would be awesome, it would be easier than trying to replicate one with the blocks. Anyway hope 343i see this so they can put it in the game.
  3. Hey guys, Though i may be new to the 343i forums, i've got some great ideas to share for Halo 5. What if you were able to have your own customized assassinations in matchmaking? How amazing would that be? The creater tool would kinda be like a WWE game (don't judge me for playing them) where you could create your own unique customizable "finishing move." You're given a huge list of Starting Moves, Secondary Moves, and Finishing Moves, like a three-tier system. You would be able to choose a starting type of move where you grab the enemy SPARTAN, a secondary type where you say, drop him to the floor, raise him over your head, tackle or body slam him, and a finishing blow of a stab, a crack of the spine/neck or the blow of a bullet. All selections would be compatible with each other and there would be a set amount of time that you're assassination would have to take in order for the multiplayer aspect of it be balanced. Now when you get assassinated, you can gasp at each unique creation that each person makes. It would add that much more into the Halo Sandbox and be a fantastic touch to the franchise. I've thought of a real cool one where the SPARTAN grabs the other one by the neck, choke-slams him and makes a finishing jab of the knife to kill his opponent. -Nerdboy132
