Pokecoaster, made by @NukedIceCream, is a race map put into the 'Race Map Submissions' section of our THFE forums. Once again, what really got me to read and check this map out was a member of The Halo Forge Epidemic commenting very positively on it and this time it was RLD Hot Tamale giving his commendations. Here's just a glimpse of what the map looks like: It's got a Pikachu! Most of the aesthetics on this map were made by NukedIceCream's friend: Lord FluffBall, so make sure you check out some of his maps if ever given the chance. Spectral Jester (who is enjoying life as a regular member on the site) got the inside story on it when others were confused. I won't give you a synopsis, I'd like you to read and comment on his post here. PLAY DATES Monthly Halo 4 Play Date More sad news for me and Play Dates: I didn't make it to the monthly Halo 4 Play Date. Again I'm sure it was another great one and it probably had a bigger turnout than our previous Play Dates seeing as most people own Halo 4 now in the community. We always play fun games in Lil Dog's lobby like Flood gametypes on cool maps. Skumm hosted a little bit and we played a fun game of Ro Sham Bo Jr. where our Spartans were modded to be smaller but our weapons were the same size and that got laughs out of everyone. We played Drag Race and Minotaur and we even did some regular Infinity Slayer which was nice. DESTINY Legends of the gaming industry, Bungie, launched their ARG, or Alternate Reality Game, for their upcoming title: Destiny. The ARG requires fans to attend alphalupi.bungie.net where they input geomantic symbols that unlock encrypted pictures that started blurry. The pictures increase in clarity with the increase in people that frequent the site. Each picture unlocks poems that supposedly leave hints to the game Destiny by Bungie but who can say what they really refer to in the game? Find Adamj's thread on the Destiny ARG here. Featured Map Here's a map that caught my eye in our Forge forums. The map is called Dusk and was Forged by a member named @Yama. His map is very aesthetically pleasing and aims to be ideal for 1v1s and 2v2s. I'd love to provide a screenshot of the map but for some reason I'm just not able to copy and paste a picture nor use the media BBCode for it. *cough Choot 'em help me cough cough* I immediately knew this would be a good map when I saw that THFE's Psychoduck posted the last comment really thanking Yama for the time and information he provided. QUILT QUALIFYING PLAY DATE Halo 3 Play Date Much better turn out with the Halo 3 Play Date than last week's Reach Play Date. We started off with some matchmaking then went into some custom games. We played Slayer mostly but we also played some objectives like One Flag, Juggernaut, and Territories. There was a good amount of lag to no one's surprise but that wasn't going to make us quit a game that we all love. All in all it was a good time. If you weren't there you missed out. You can be the judge of whether that's good or not haha. CRAZY GRUNT'S RIDDLE CHALLENGE The Crazy Grunt's Riddle Challenge is a humorous and brain stimulating forum game. One person comes up with a Halo related riddle and then the rest of the participants have to solve that riddle and the one who gets the right answer wins the point. The rule is that each player gets one guess per post and waits for the riddler to respond to whether they were right or wrong before they can post again. The score to win has varied over the 4 rounds but this round players have to solve 10 riddles to get the prize: The Riddler Award Round 4 has just begun. FEATURED INTERVIEWS Quantum - Former Staff member mainly working with our Art Department who has just recently retired. This is an old interview I did with him last year. He has always supported, promoted, and expressed intrigue and appreciation for Forge and Forgers alike. It's because of him that our Forge community is so populous. But right now he has been allowed back to the community with a fresh start as Member. Former MoM with a post count that used to be over 4,000, Biggles gives his formal apology here. We played fun customs like free for all slayer and infection and a really cool race map. Eventually we went into matchmaking and we destroyed our first team of opponents. Second game not so good . I participated this time around and I was glad to make it. In my time there we played fun custom games like Hot Potato, Race, Mantis Warfare, and Clue. Hover over the Other tab and you'll see the list of other things we have there and at the bottom you'll find a tab of all of 343iCF's AFFILIATES: 10 year Bungie veterans, Certain Affinity is a group of game developers that have worked on titles such as Halo 2, Halo 2 Vista, Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, and Call of Duty: Black Ops The Halo Forge Epidemic is a group of dedicated Forgers dating back to April of 2011. They make maps for all gametypes. Their group consists mainly of hosts for every gametype: Oakley Hi-Def, Psychoduck, Darth Human, Mr. Pokephile, Able SirThomas, RLD HotTamale, and A J Yusi. "Halo Customs is a hub for finding and creating custom games in the Halo series, downloading and sharing maps, and sharing Forge tips and tricks." Ducain23. CUSTOM GAMES NIGHT Spades N AZ's Custom Games Night - The Golden Spade Award gained by attending Custom Games Night hosted by our very own Spades N AZ. DGL Next up we're going to talk about Doc's Gaming League Season 2 or the DGL. Originally thought up by DoctorB77, it is a singles tournament. The DGL is a hard thing for one man to maintain and the Legendary Member Choot 'em saw this and volunteered his help backing the tournament from the start. This is the gaming league's second season and it is more official than ever. The DGL Forge Submission Contest has already come to a close and maps have already been chosen for the tournament's 15 weeks. The last week is the showdown between the remaining competitors. 33 members signed up for the DGL this season. QUILT QUALIFYING PLAY DATE Halo 4 Monthly Playdate: Quilt Qualifier Initially hosted by Absolute Dog, I was at the Halo 4 Monthly Playdate for 4 hours or so and it was great. Good old fashion fun. We started with about 8 people which quickly jumped to 10 and then before we knew it we were at 14 and then a full party of 16. We were doing matchmaking games until the party got too big and then we were playing customs. Slayer and Flood and then an awesome Halo version of the classic board game Clue.
