Sorry, but Installation 01 is a joke. The community knows it, people who attempted to help them know it. Sorry, but the General Manager of the project doesn't know a damn thing.

Figured I'd add that, then edit this post later.

My post isn't really about the installation 01, I was just referencing it because people know what it is here. Please don't take one thing I said and use it to disregard the rest. I don't know if you were, just please don't.

  2.

I think the first time I saw Halo: Reach was either of these:

    • In the 2009 Teaser Trailer in late 2009 or early 2010. I distinctly remember seeing it on my friend's 360, but at what point I don't remember.
    • In the Gameinformer issue of February 2010, which I still have in my closet.
    Here's the 2009 Teaser:

And this is the article on the Gameinformer site about their issue: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2010/01/08/news-february-cover-revealed.aspx

    The cover as well:

Playing it was a different story. I don't remember ANYTHING about Halo after looking over the GI Reach issue. It might-of been because I had a PS3 at the time, and anything Xbox related did not compute to me. I think the reason I got a PS3 was because my old 360 red-ringed, and I ended up breaking it beyond repair in effort to fix it (fml).

I only managed to start playing when my PS3 was destroyed, and I got a 360 S in August 2011. Though it's possible I went to a LAN for Reach before that, but I don't remember anything specific. Only LANs dedicated to Halo 3.

In any case, the span between August 2011 to just before the launch of Halo 4 was the golden age of Reach as far as I'm concerned. For me anyway. Those were the days...

I remember that game in former, I spent so long studying the picture and what was said.

  3. The Halo modding community is a small but creative group.

There is another company called Bethesda Game Studios. This company is very popular, but what keeps their games popular and played for years is modding. BGS has a very big modding community. The reason this community is so big, and they make so much is because BGS gives them the development and modding tools, this is called the creation kit.

I think the next step in player freedom is in if 343i releases a modding kit for Halo on the PC. Doing this would give tools to go in and be able to modify the whole game, to make who new landscapes, vehicles, armor, story campaigns. Unlike Forge, where it is using some assets of the game, the modding tool would be able to have whole new assets.

Just like Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition they could allow mods on the consoles.

This would make the PC Halo community grow exponentially, and would make the console Halo console side very happy and it would grow as well, by a lot I bet.

Doing this would usher in a whole new golden age in the Halo community. Replayability would be almost endless. The custom games we know and love would be 100 times crazier, their could be whole new campaigns and stories, new weapons, armors, and so on

With what is happening with Installation 01, they could probably do it easier, and more projects like it could be happening.

This is something I think would be great, what do you think about it?

  4.

Lol, what? Halo 2's campaign stomped CE's, and should not even be compared to Halo 5. At least Halo 2 explained itself in the campaign and didn't require to go to Bungie.net for more information.

Also, CE's multilayer only went up to 4 players unless you had friends who liked both Halo and Xbox. Otherwise meh.

And I think you're confusing Halo: Reach with Halo 4, lol. Halo 4 never happened. Even 343I don't acknowledge it just like Halo Legends

The campaign is bad in terms of level design, not really story. The Halo 4 campaign doesn't have great level design, but it has the same issues as the original trilogy, but the story is the deepest overall, which I wish they continued instead of doing cliche number 27 with Halo 5, but this is all just my opinion.

  5.

I know the point of the skill system but the one you proposed is tried and tested. A much better system is needed. Maybe something along the lines of doing some placement matches then getting a number between 1 and 10. You then have a certain CSR rating to reach before reaching the next number. If you lose you can still rank up if you perform well.

The only flaws I can think of really is that if your doing team based you will be brought down by a team with bad players, and a easy fix would be if you have positive kd you should still go up, but otherwise I think it is good, and it should be difficult to rank up.

  6.

You're the first I've seen to mention this so not sure about the community

I'm not stopping myself from speaking my mind, and nobody else is. Everyone's opinion matters

I maybe the first to say the series is on repeat, but generally people think Halo CE has a good campaign, but not good multiplayer, and that Halo 2 has a bad campaign, but great multiplayer. The Halo community loved the Halo 2 campaign.

  7. For one, the Halo 2 and 3 ranking was terrible. It ruined the fun of playing online as you could never rank up without full time MLG pro gaming.

Halo 5 is much easier to rank up in and you can do it alone. This season I ranked Platinum 6 and I've ranked up to Diamond 4 on my own. It's much much more enjoyable.

The Reach system was terrible. Earn credits to unlock armour that is overly priced and locked behind a ridiculously high credit threshold to rank up. There was also way too much to purchase anyway, a lot of it ugly.

That is why I said 2 leveling systems.

The skill based are for those who are competitive and good, you have to try and do well. The skill based system isn't meant to be easy, it's meant to be difficult. You have to practice and improve, that's why it's not for everyone.

The casual is for those who either aren't great or just want to play casually, I don't care what it is, I reference reach as an example, I don't think it's good, but the only point of casual is really just keep the players having fun and playing.

  8.

Halo 6 needs REQs and keep the same style of mutiplayer as Halo 5. It also needs an improved Campaign.

And I disagree it's on repeat:

Halo CE: Good campaign with awful multiplayer

Halo 2: Bad campaign with awful multiplayer

Halo 3: Good campaign with good multiplayer

Halo 4: Good campaign with good mutiplayer

Halo 5: Ok campaign with great multi player

    Halo 6: ???

I was really referring to how the whole of the community viewed them.

I didn't say anything about the reqs, but that is whole of topic worth discussing, but this isn't the topic

  9. It was around 2003 or 2004? I was 6 or 7 around that time and I had just beat Halo CE on Normal and was screwing around in the 'Extras' tab since I hadn't noticed it before. It caught my eye and I went to it, and what did I see? The Halo 2 Announcement Trailer and Halo 2 E3 2003 Demo. It blew my tiny child brain and from then on, those two trailers/demos have been my favorite of those categories. They still are too. Didn't get to play Halo 2 until 2006 though.

That demo looked like it was for a great game, a game I wish was made lol, I wish that demo was playable

  10. Here's a suggestion that will require work my both the site staff and users.

There are certain things a majority of users on this site want 343i to do. Us discussing on here is good, but I don't think 343i is looking here.

A way we can have a way to get 343i to see what our users think is by posting on waypoint.

    Here is the strategy:

Someone makes a topic for a suggestion for Halo, a lot of people agree, at that point the site staff and users coordinate with the users and have one person post the same topic on waypoint, and than everyone from here go there and like and say they agree with the post. If it's get a lot of attention fast, more people, who are users of waypoint will see it, and will discuss it as well, the more popular it gets the more likely 343i will see it.

I am not saying they will, but it will increase the chances.

It may seem ambitious, but I think it can work

  11.

Oh that system...that makes sense. I feel dumb...Lol

Also my bad for misinterpreting your discussion.

So do you mean a system like Bronze division, Silver Division, Gold Division, Platinum Division, and Onyx Division?

I want two types of ranking systems.

A skill based, where you win to rank. Ideally it would be like Halo 3 ranking, 1-50.

The casual can really be anything, it could be what is currently in Halo 5, or preferable the system in Reach.

By unlockable I mean like armor, skins, weapon variants, and such

  12. 1. Skyrim Special Edition

SSE deserves GOTY due all the reasons it did in 2011. The only difference now is that it is all around better. The graphics has been up given a boost. The frame rates are more stable, and generally higher. The bugs that were fixed after Skyrim released in 2011 are still fixed, and then some. The experience for all systems has been enhanced because of modding. PC has always had mods, but now the potential and capabilities are seemingly endless on it. The Xbox One and PS4 also have modding, but it is more restricted, yet there enhances the experience. Players new and old will have a great experience with Skyrim. If you want to get lost in a whole other world, than Skyrim will be the game you want.
