  1. Due to my previous post it may have seemed like I'm one of the guys who thinks 343 is "ruining Halo". This is not the case, I actually think the opposite. If anything there's a ton more lore, books, animated series, ect. due to them. Which is always a good thing, and I really appreciate the fact that they listen to the community. However, I think some of the changes they've made and things they've done are a bit odd or out of place. As stated in my previous post. But that's what the community is for, recommending things we'd like done to the series.
  2. Alright, I just wanted to start off by saying that I'm a big Halo fan, and have been since the release of Halo Combat Evolved (the original one made by Bungie). Now, onto the main topic. I just finished Halo 5 (I bought the limited edition Xbox One system and everything), and I loved it. But, it's lacking so much. It isn't stating true to its original roots at all. For starters, Chief would never go a wall, I understand that he has a romance with Cortana, and 343 did a decent job portraying that. But the point remains. There's just way too many drastic changes that seemingly come out of nowhere. For example, The Chief's armor (throwback to Halo 4) he climbed out of the cryotube in totally different looking armor, how the hell does that happen if he's been asleep for years? It even has all the same damages in the same places from Halo 3. Another thing, where are all the Marines? The Master Chief is supposed to be there to aid them and in most cases, save them. Which is the whole reason why he's a legend, he gives all the regular Marines hope. Also, how did the flood just disappear? I've played all the Halo games from start to finish on all difficulties and they're always brought back because they're on every Forerunner installation. I enjoyed fighting the Flood way more than these floating robots that glow. With the Flood there was an actual sense of danger and suspense. Not to mention the fact that they could multiply by infecting corpses. Holy hell. And what's with Locke? Halo was literally made about, mainly, The Chief and Cortana. And now there's only three playable missions as the Chief. The rest are as Locke who, I'm sorry but, the players honestly don't care about. It's not that he isn't cool or anything. It's just that we love The Chief, and we're way more attached to him and Cortana than Locke and his men. And as far as playing as The Chief goes, I'd understand if it were a game meant to be like Halo 3 ODST, but it isn't. It's supposed to be about The Chief, and Cortana. Not some random spartan team that half of us don't really know or care about. If you want to introduce a new character, give him or her their own game. And even though I'm such a big Halo fan, there were way too many things that I had no clue about. Like, where the hell did Palmer come from? Why is there some new Elite that a ton of characters are making a big deal about? (Not the Arbiter, the dude he's at war with). If you want to add in things like that, make them Easter Eggs or something, not critical parts of the game. And it's not only cosmetic things, it's gameplay. Why is split screen gone? What if I wanted to bring a group of friends over to play Halo? (And yes. People still do that, I actually had plans to upon release of this game. BUT IT'S NOT POSSIBLE.) What if I wanted to play Campaign with my brother like we did when we were kids? And speaking of Campaign, why is it so short? It's only 15 missions long, and two of them aren't even real missions. You just walk around and talk to people. I miss a long, involved, and challenging Campaign. Not many people play Halo for Multiplayer, that's why the Chief and Cortana are so huge. I understand the new generation of Halo fans need something like Multiplayer, I get it. But don't half ass the Campaign because of them. There are TONS of people like me who are thinking the same things. Halo is loosing what it was, and if you keep changing everything so drastically, then you're going to lose the original fans. I'm criticizing the game because I love it. And I don't want it to turn into trash like Call of Duty has. Sincerely. Matthew. Also, Brutes. What happened to them? They just disappeared. They were a fun enemy, and now they're gone. Plus, they were huge in the story. They replaced Elites in they covenant and now they're gone. And some Elites just returned? What? How does that even happen? Plus, the Warden was WAY too overused and recycled. Making the game repetitive and in a lot of aspects. Annoying.
