Does anyone know where Spartans and Elites put their grenades and equipment like the power drain?

Yes. That's why the knowledge is dangerous.

Spartans keep grenades and ammo magnetically attached to their thigh armor, etc. I assume the power drain is placed in the same place Cortana-cylinder is on Noble 6
For elites, if you check the animation it looks like its pulled out the Elite bum bum but maybe its the same - magnetics.
