  1. As much as I personally like to see debates and thoughts on 15+ year old titles, CE is NOT one that can even be properly discussed.

CE was a 6 monthgame.  The game that was supposed to bē Halo, was completely scrapped and rewritten in 6 months time.  Normal engine development alone is a 3+ year venture and the netcoding end of it takes just as long in simultaneous  development.  Given the fact that this game was thrown together by a team of less than 10 people is astonishing in it's own right.

Trying to pick it apart and compare it to successors that had proper development time is like trying to debate a stone wheel versus a Hancook tire.

That being said, CE actually did multiplayer and story better than it's successors.  The proof is in the still recent 500+ multiplayer base that still exists and the numerous downloads available for þe title.

Also as a secondary thought, pretty graphics do not a good game make....aka Halo 4 & Halo 5 failed miserably because of the attention to detail and graphics, and less on story, replay value and good old fashion fun.  Halo has to quickly evolved as a whole and in that process it lost it's own identity.  It is now a basic copy & paste fps title just like CoD.

  2. I'm sorry, what?  Poor rendition doesn't even begin to explain this mess.  I'm assuming you think that we have something to do with the developers of halo, 343Induistries.  In which case you are mistaken.  This is a fan forum.  Welcome?

  3. Halo players ACT entitled, there is little to no debating this.  How many inflamed Reddit, Subreddit as well as other websites have we seen claims of "wanting a refund" or "give us the game we want" threads?  Fact is, due to how consumerism has evolved as a business and practice, they themselves bred the now "Entitled" gaming movement as a whole.

Far be it from me to claim anything other than logical and factual, but it is correct.  Gamers today have been so empowered to the point in which they really do think they are entitled to refunds and gaming titles that cater to their every wish and desire.  And anything that falls short in any way is unacceptable.

A decade ago gamers did not have this false sense or feeling of entitlement.  We got what we got, and that was it.  There was no whining, flaming or endless complaining just because we were not 100% satisfied with what we boguht.  Contrary to popular belief, gaming and media/entertainment in general has NO GUARANTEE!  Anything you rent/buy/play is not guaranteed to function/satisfy or otherwise.  You do this under your own accord.  Perhaps if more people actually read a EUA and the companies actually stuck to their guns, we wouldn't have bred this Era or Entitlement.

That's just my 39 years of life expereince....

  4. Nintendo is again heading in the direction that seems to be the "Lonely Left Field". Mobile gaming is a fad, a horrible, costly and step backwards fad. Banking on mobile gaming is like banking on the tablet market to replace the desktop. Doesn't work, won't work, move on.

Sony is following what MS started in terms of bridging the PC/Console divide, albiet both in the wrong way. Being said, Sony has a massively larger AAA base and from what reports indicate, pulls it off leeps and bounds beyond MS.

Microsoft is simply rinse repeating what they did with the 360. But this time around, they are touting Scorpio as a true next gen killer. As if to say that the hardware they currently have is tapped out, and they need a stronger system to work with, because their talent pool and quality is just that massive. If you believe that, I have a bridge in France I want to sell you.

At the end of the day it all muddles down to Sony and MS bidding for your bucks on the holidayz, while simply delivering recycled services you don't need and are simply trendy, not revolutionary. If we wanna talk big about gaming and quality, let's wait until at least year 6, when the hardware is finally properly supported by next gen software.

As the old saying goes, A fancy smanshy hardware rig does not produce quality, without the bleeding edge software to be powered by it. It would be like being handed a GTX 1060 in 2012. Sure it's the highest end, but is the software to utilize it fully there?

In short, what are they all doing wrong? NOT moving onto true next hen extensability such as proprietary upgradable hardware. Not, diy type stuff, but bring your console in, MS sponsored spots retrofit a new cpu, ram, gpu into it, and your back gaming on a more powerfull console with less downtime, more options, and far less money spent by you, and by costly hardware manufacturing just for chasis', dvd drives, packaging, etc...

  5. Jumping the gun are we not?  Frank's comments were that basedof sarcasm.  Fact: Due to the new development architectures and lack of software even potentially harnessing 20% of current gen hardware is what led to the inability of maintaining high fps with split-screen.

We should be waiting to hear an ACTUAL release of documented information about Halo 6 before wasting time on frivilous conjucture and possible what-ifs.  Just my take...

  6. Email address linkage is the likely cuplprit.  Let's be honest, everyone assumes that just because you use a VPN, mask your locale or IP, that they can "fool" Microsoft.  It's a billion dollar company...they can find you whenever they want, and find your info/account/id just as easily.

Moral of the story...don't do stupid stuff that will and can result in a ban.

  7. You really gotta coordinate better with me next time you jump on brah!

Well said I could NOT have said it any better.  While I too have some qualms with what happened, I guess things inevitably change either for the best or worst.  But at the end of the day, it isn't the site or who is running it that makes it a great place, it is it's members as a collective whole family.  Wish you were still here and texted me from time to time, I'm sure we both have a LOT to catch up on.  Tell Derek to get his ****** arse on here once in a while too!

  8. The problem is not Live or your individual settings. The main core problem is the netcoding and scripting that was thrown in to swmi allow a functioning co-op CE experience. By default, CE was multiplayer only, ao trying to add the Live functionality of a co-op was hit or miss and pray, pray, pray to god that it works even 10℅ of the time.

Not sure if it comes a relief or more disdain, but it is soley the fault of 343 and the infinite screwey planning and execution that took place.

  9. If there is a server issue you will usually find info on it at Xbox.com.  If you were looking for a direct 343 answer, you won't find it here.  This is a fan forum.  But that being said we have a great community so you may find someone posting or shouting an answer to your question.  Hope that helps?

  10. Based off of the fact that this particular permutation does NOT show a corresponding model, it is entirely possible that this permutation is a DLC based armor.  Meaning that inside the mainmenu map file, the reference is there, but whatever map or external data source it is linked too, is not in our hands yet.

Either that, or it's a dev only permutation and it has to be specifically assigned, or else for anyone else it shows up as a blank model.  Just a theory but it is based off of how the internal engine and tags are handled.  Then again who knows how different things are really layed out since we don't currently have ANY information on the game engine variant or tag related data itself.

  11. I did enjoy Glasslands a great deal.  That being said, it's the ONLY novel/comic/other that I actually finished reading.  No offense to Joe Staten, but ANYTHING prior to 3rd party writing just lacked the in depth story telling.

Again that being said, what I would like to see is a revisit to everything starting with harvest, but re-imagined and written to include what is now known as acceptable canon.  I also hate anything comic related to halo.  Certain things just don't work well and I think the comic thing is just awful.

  12. While it is very cool to see both Halo PC and Eldorito giving it everything they got, I must advise caution towards the staff and community.  Since Halo Online was officially canceled, I would expect a Take Down notice or possible attempt wt legal action on behalf of Microsoft.  Also not to be a huge downer, we wouldn't want anything like "notices" or any other M$ directed action to potentially harm this community.

Believe me, I have a great respect for Eldorito and what they have done, but for me personally the potential fallout or harm for advertising the community here is just too much to risk.

  13. Unfortunately, the support team for Microsoft is even dumber than those that are tasked with support at actual Halowaypoint.  We have no affiliation with Microsoft or 343 and therefor cannot help you with account/game/official support of any kind.

However this fan community does boast the most creative and helpful of ANY type of Halo community on the web, so who knows?  maybe a fellow member here will see this and be able to offer some advice or help.  Unfortunately again, that isn't me lol.  Good luck man, hope the account stuff gets worked out!

  14. The only major problem with this theoey is that the Spirit of Fire was discovered over 00 The Ark under Brute control. Only 1 flood infection form was ever discovered in relation to SoF, and it wasn't on the ship itself.

As for the flood coming back, possibly. The Flood did not originate from any known lore / canon in the present established Halo Universe, they came from outside of known stellar space. To add to that, regardless or who is in control of the Domain, Cortana and Forerunner ideology persists in that the Flood must be eradicated at all costs. I just couldn't see the Flood ever used as a pawn to facilitate the destruction of the human species via Forerunner design.

But, you do get points for creativity.

  15. That said, I'll be happy to add you back on to my list of potential candidates in preparation for the next time we're considering a recruitment!

That would be fantastic RSR, thank you very much!  If there is any way I can help with anything that doesn't require a staff or certain permission set, feel free to ask.

The only wall I plan on building is in Halo 5: Guardians Forge for PC.  Think 343i meets Gladiator!  As for who will pay for it?  The loser of the Gladiator Tourney will pay for it with delicious bags of Doritos for the site lmao
