  1. Wow, I haven't been around the forum too much lately, but I've got to say that you've definitely re-sparked my interest and I'll have to start spending more time here. Wonderful job on the interview you guys, you both did a great job and it was both informative and enjoyable to read. Keep up the great work Drizzy.

Griffin this is a great interview and I always appreciate those who serve the community.  Speaking of the Online Knights, I remember them when Robious first was trying to get it started.  He is a very humble man so every time I told him to plug his channel during CGN he was slow to react.  I must have plugged it dozens of times but now it doesn't need lil guys like me plugging it LOL.  I look forward to playing some REACH next month for CGN(whoops was that said out loud).  I really enjoyed the aesthetics of REACH forging more.  Some time we will have to go check out my maps on REACH where most of my forging happened.  If you like aesthetics then you will love them.

Now what you said about this community couldn't be more true.  Some of the greatest from the Halo community make this forum their home base.  I know for a fact that hundreds of heads will nod in agreement while reading your interview.  I hope the Online Knights will continue to grow, that Halo will recover from the loss of fans, and that you find great success in your endeavors.

Btw, I just have to say it; Thanks a lot Spades for everything you've done for us. We love you man, and we really appreciate it! :)

  2. This is a pretty sweet. Loved the map you were got the idea from. The aesthetics look great, how you blended the environment with the map. Great job!

Thanks man, I'm glad you liked it. I'm also happy you enjoyed the aesthetics, it's pretty much as far as I would go for the re-make while still making it compatible in Halo 4. That's why its more of a re-imagination.

PS: If anyone's interested in more pictures of the map here's the link to the map post on HaloCustoms.

  3. Gamertag: Robius5991

    Map: Purgatory

    Gametype: Hunter

Description: This map was originally my submission to the Meet Your Maker contest, but it has since been changed to work with flood and my own variant; "Hunter", among others. The map is a re-imagination of the Crysis 3 map entitled "Airport", and I did my best to mimic the multiplayer gametype "Hunter" which has the flood with poor camo and modified health/speed, against the armed humans, representing the CELL troops. The map boasts awesome aesthetics and thrilling gameplay that the majority of my testers have greatly enjoyed!

If you choose to feature this map, I would greatly appreciate a shout-out to my channel (youtube.com/OnlineKnights), because it would really help us out.

Here's a video on my channel that we just released concerning the map:

Here's a quick cover picture to give you an idea of how it looks:

Thanks for looking this over, and I hope you'll consider it for a feature.

Update: Yay, thank you Mr Pokephile for the feature:

  4. IMPORTANT NOTE:  Hey guys, although this post is done on my file, this map is not mine. I am simply posting this here for Minister Muffin, who wasn't able to reply to this thread himself, due to technical issues. This map is 100% his.

    CITRO

    C7_zps76f185fa.jpg

    Map Creator:  Minister Muffin

    Map Variant Link:  Citro

    Gametype: Infinity Slayer

    Map Description/Info (From Muffin):

Oh, look. I spotted a Citro. Not so pretty up close, now is it? It is? Well, how delightful! Okay, moving on, Citro is an inverse-symmetric 4v4 map designed for slayer and ctf. It provides long LOS, not to mention some great cover and locations to provide exciting cqc situations. Citro also drops an interesting factor into gameplay: 2 ghosts that can practically go ANYWHERE. Citro's warm color scheme and aesthetics, along with its unpredictable gameplay, provides a great environment for you and your team to spray the other team with needles, or blow their brains out with a rail gun. Because we all love brains... And cats. Warm Citro cats, that is.

Trait zone: 200% gravity & 0% jump height.
Weapon layout: I am not exactly sure what all is on there at the moment.

  5. Purgatory

    1-PurgatoryIntro_zps7a5b7f8b.jpg

    Map Creator: Robius5991

    Map Variant Link: Purgatory

    Gametype: Infinity Slayer

    1-Overhead2_zps9eb95001.jpg

This is the basic overhead layout of the map. I've marked the initial spawns for players and the weapons. There are also Plasma grenades and Random Drop ordinances, but I didn't mark these.

    Important Information:

-First of all, it is important to note that the initial weapons; Sniper Rifle (x1) and Railguns (x2), do not actually respawn, but are instead replaced with random drops. These will offer the same weapons with an odd chance of slipping in either a Beam Rifle or Scattershot respectively. Additionally, there are different random drops scattered throughout the map, encouraging a continuous flow of combat.  Like I mentioned above, there are also two Sticky Grenade spawns, which are on a standard respawn counter. Lastly, thanks to the set up of Ravine, higher levels of BtB weapons; i.e: Binary Rifles and Incineration Cannons, are extremely unlikely in personal ordinances.

-Another important note is that this map is a re-imagination "Airport" from Crysis 3. Originally it was supposed to be a re-make, however due to the rather drastic gameplay differences in the games, I had to change it profusely to make it more fitting for Halo and now it has become a rather different map all-together!

-I would just like to ask that if by some miracle I should win, could you guys please give my channel (OnlineKnights) a shout-out? Thanks!

  6. After doing some research, I found the original artist of the knight in your signature and it is royalty free stock meaning that there would be no copyright issues if you used it.

black knight png stock you dont have to credit me if you use my stock but it would be nice if you did

Thanks so much Insignia, this means that I don't need to lose the EPIC sig/avatar pic you've already made me. Thank you so much for the time you put in to research that (I tried for so long and couldn't find anything) and for the time you put in to make the original sig. You're really amazing man, and I know that I speak for everyone when I thank you for all the great works of art you've created for this community!

  7. Hey Ducain,

Nice to see you here on this awesome forum! Anyways, I noticed that there wasn't any map submissions yet, and so I decided to submit my flood map "Emerald Mine" to your channel.

    Map Name: Emerald Mine

Gametype: Flood Mode (This is an alternative of Flood on my fileshare, however any flood gametypes work [i've been told Flood Evolved is pretty fun on it])

    Map Creator: Robius5991

    Recommended Player Count: 6-16

Brief Description: The UNSC has abandoned this mining facilty long ago, but now it is your last haven against the invading flood. Use machinery and the old defense system to protect yourself, but beware of the turrets' heat-seaking rounds, they will kill anything... including you.

If you happen to decide to feature this map, I was wondering if you might be able to give a shout-out to my channel: Youtube.com/OnlineKnights). We're really trying to grow and any support would be extremely appreciated!

  8. **Important**: I'd kind of like to level with you guys right off the bat. This new avatar would be used both for here (on this forum) and on youtube, if its o.k with you guys. The main reason I would like a new avatar is not because I don't like the last one you made me Insignia (It's freaking amazing!) but mainly because my youtube channel is growing and I would really like to avoid any potential copyright issues that the image may bring (although I'm not aware if the previous image is copyrighted, i would like to avoid the possibility). So, I figured it would cool to update my avatar picture for this forum as that same picture.

Therefore I apologize in advance for the vagueness of this request, and I understand if I'm asking too much... The images I will imput here are not necessarily those you need to use, these are just examples of what I may consider to be non-copyrighted material (and therefore safe for me to use on my channel). Basically, i trust your artistic talents and I hope that by seeing the background of my channel (https://www.youtube....r/OnlineKnights) that you'll get a feel for the coloring and effects you may use. I have no particular preference as long as it holds to the original "Online Knights" theme.

    1. Artist: - No preference
    2. Classification [Avatar] *
    3. Format [PNG (Static image)]
    4. Size [Whatever size works as an avatar picture/ youtube avatar]
    5. Style [i'm sorry to ask but if you can take a look at my youtube channel background -> https://www.youtube....r/OnlineKnights I would love to be able to keep it rustic/worn-out rock-like look to it (I'm having a hard time expressing myself, but I think you'll understand when you see the background]
    6. Primary Colors [Your personal preferences]
    7. IMAGE Information: The picture I'm giving here is just an example. If you guys have any knight helmet pictures that you're sure isn't copyright, and that you think works better, please use it.
    8. IMAGE:http://s1079.beta.ph...html?sort=3&o=0
    9. Background [Whatever you think works]
    10. Writing [none]
    11. Font [none]
    12. Extras [basically, by looking at my channel background, I hope you can figure out some kind of theme that would fit well with it, using the helmet as its center piece (or even a full knight image, if you know its not copyrighted - you can then put any kind of background or effect, or anything that you think would work well. I guess I' m really giving you guys creative liberty on this, because I'm a little at a lost for any specific type image]
    13. Locations [The helmet or knight (whatever you chose) would be more of the centerpiece, then any background that you think would work would be great]

  9. Your welcome man! I can understand as a fellow forger that it takes a lot to make a good and well balanced flood map that has good aesthetics as well as solid gameplay for any gametype anyways. So you deserve at least the gratitude and positive support from a fellow forger. And who knows maybe TheHaloForgeEpidemic will feature it? *wink wink*

Well bearclawskiller, I've got say that you must have some magic *wink wink -> telepathic powers* because the same day that you commented on this map, it was picked up by THFE, who gave it an awesome Aesthetics tutorial on their channel - of which I am very thankful to them. Then, just today I saw that Insanmiac announced the winners of his "Best of the Dead" contest and Emerald Mine placed 1st! I just wanted to thank you personally for the awesome support you showed for me when I posted the map, it really meant a lot and I can't believe that your prediction came true. Thanks a lot for your feedback and kind words!

  10. This is a splendid game! Some of the best graphics I've seen in single-player and the multiplayer was pretty fun as well. In fact, now that you've brought it up, I think I may start playing this again a little more! If I remember correctly, just a few cheevos left... may try to get those! Thanks for bringing me back down memory lane... even if it wasn't that old.

  11. Very impressive Robius.. You've outdone yourself again with another great map. I like the theme of it and I think you made a really good use of the map's pieces. Plus I overall love flood/infection maps I enjoyed playing on this map as well as the aesthetics.

Thanks bearclawskiller, I really appreciate the positive support!

  12. I think that the ending for this game was Ubisoft's way of leaving us with the "Greatest Cliffhanger" they could pull off. For what I'm going to say next, I warn you all that there will be SPOILERS FOR ALL OTHER AC GAMES (Please bare with me as I give examples to help elaborate my point)::

#1: In the first Assassin's Creed, Altair's story was nicely wrapped up and there was no definitive cliffhanger - however, Desmond's story was left in a rather intense state as he developed the bleeding effect and could see the remnants of bloody symbols all over his room.

#2: In Assassin's Creed 2, Ezio's story was left hanging when we learn that it wasn't god that was hidden in the vault, but that it was rather the remnants of Those Who Came Before who spoke through Ezio to Desmond directly. Desmond's story ended with them escaping their warehouse hideout, after fighting off Vidic and the modern Templars.

#3: In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Ezio recovers the Apple of Eden and hides it within a vault under a Roman church. Desmond's story drastically ends with him stabbing Lucy to death, when he is under the control of Those Who Came Before, and falling into a coma.

#4: In Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Ezio and Altair's stories are finally completely wrapped up (in what I thought was a really nice manner) but Desmond's story ends with him waking up from his coma, re-establishing his shattered mind, and saying that he knows what to do with the Apple to save the world.

#5: In Assassin's Creed 3, Connor's story is well wrapped up as he participates in ending the revolution and settling himself, having hidden the seal for a future generation. Desmond's story ends with him sacrificing himself to save the world from destruction, but thus releasing Juno (I think) who will try to bring the world back under her control.

-- In conclusion, by looking as the games' endings (Desmond's in particular) you can see that Ubisoft always ends them with a cliffhanger. My personal perspective on it is that they tried to progressively intensify their cliffhanger-endings. For this reason, I can understand why it has ended in such an explosive manner and although I am a little saddened to see Desmond go, this opens the door for what could be the most mind-twisting Assassin's Creed game to date. I mean come on, not only are the Assassins fighting the Templars, but they are also going to have Juno's omniscient influence to deal with. Anyways, all of this is to say that within the proper context, I think that the ending was well executed (albeit a little oddly) and I will remain a dedicated fan of the series. I hope to hear what other players also thought about the ending aswell, because I tend to sometimes over-analyse everything, so it's great to hear other perspectives.

  13. Really loving the DragonSchmeef.

I don't play Skyrim, but I'll probably use the dragon in some Medieval-Style maps.

    Great map submission!

Thanks iGryfz, feel free to use any of the designs, that's what they're there for! Glad you liked the submission! :)

Just watched the video on it and... holy hell man, love all the designs. Really awesome work. Hope to see more shmeef creations in the future:)

Wow, thanks you so much A J YUSI, I'm so thrilled to have THFE actually like this, it means a lot. As for the more shmeefs, I hope to creating another gallery soon with more original ideas! :)

this is awesome! I love seeing new creative takes on shmeefs! Shmeefs for the win.

Thanks a lot Spades N AZ, I'm very happy that you enjoyed the original designs!

  14. Hey 343iCF,

I'm here to bring you all my content for the recently-unveiled "Shmeef" project that THFE has invented. Originally I wanted to feature my Shmeefs in some of my maps, however, I could never find a good spot to do so, therefore instead I created a mini-museum/gallery to showcase all my Shmeef designs. In this gallery you can find a new variety of Shmeefs, varying from Left 4 Dead parodies to those from Gears of War and many, many others. I want to tell all forgers that they can feel free to use the designs I have shown in the video and any other kind of variation that they can come up with, since that is the purpose of the video.

If this interests you, please check out the below video to see all of my Shmeef creations (so far), thanks for your time!:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhN1NSvzYlg

I just wanted to mention that this is my attempt at helping THFE popularize the "Shmeef" concept and I really hope it catches on as it is a fun as easy concept to forge.

**As a message to any THFE members, if you chose to feature this, could you please mention my channel (youtube.com/OnlineKnights) thanks a lot and good luck with the Shmeefs!**
