I really hope you bring back the rank system in Halo 5 or you will MOST definitely lose my money and a lot of my friends who are hoping you bring it back as well. If you don't bring it back you will lose me and many others for all the Halo games to come. I won't even take the time to look at Halo 6 7 etc. cause ive been defeated by your last 2 games as is..... Halo 2 amazing, fun, and consistently had players online months after release. Halo 3 amazing, fun, and consistently had players online YEARS after release. Reach pretty good, fun, had players on after release and then died off. Halo 4 decent, fun at times... had a lot of players at release then it died off... you see the pattern here. I really hope this message is read by the developers. Obviously my opinion doesn't stand for everyone, but i know for a fact it stands for a lot of people i know, and im sure it does for a lot of people i don't know. There are many people who are just like me. they don't even have the time or energy to post something like this. HELL THEY HAVE GIVEN UP ON THE HALO SERIES. I'm surprised at myself that im even taking the time to make a post like this. I really just hope i can have this idea put into consideration. Right Now: (again opinions differ, but this is pretty accurate for most people trust me...) Halo 3 > Halo 2 > Halo Reach > Halo 4 (halo reach and halo 4 are about equal) I don't even have to buy Halo 5 to show these next two sequences.................. No Ranks: Halo 3 > Halo 2 > Halo Reach > Halo 4 > Halo 5 Ranks: Halo 5 > Halo Reach > Halo 4 So if your trying to gain a stronger fan base, redeem your old one, and overall make more money as a Halo franchise you see here what you need to do with your multiplayer system. Here is what you have been trying to do with your "competitive gameplay" (not sure if one can even call it that)::: arena short lived and pretty lame. hell i can still go play halo 3 and increase my rank. i cant play arena anymore What does that say??..... that tells you something right there.. that means enough of your pointless one month competitions and stuff like that. I know most everyone wants the entire multiplayer experience to be centered around RANKS AND COMPETITIVE GAMEPLAY. not just all social playlists...... it's the same thing over and over again in multiplayer for halo reach and halo 4 because its all just social playlists. nothing is every truly achieved. inheritor is not an achievement or an accomplishment. its pathetic really. a 50 is respectable, a 50 is fun to get. fun to play for. keeps me playing and keeps a hell of a lot more people playing and getting better to achieve it. In Halo 3 you did it right, you had the multiplayer system centered around ranks. then you had a social playlist for others. it was probably 75% ranks playlists and 25% Social playlists. All im asking you to do is make it 50/50 You will find out on your own from there what people really want to play. Make half the multiplayer playlists a 1-50 rank system and make the other half social playlists. From there you can see what happens and SEE WHAT PEOPLE REALLY WANT TO PLAY. In my concluding remarks i guess i just have one small tiny miniature request for the entire game of halo 5. bring back ranks, thats it. Thats all. PLEASE just bring back ranks. thats all i ask, and THATS ALL THOUSANDS OF OTHER PEOPLE REQUEST. Goodbye. please support this thread, make it a sticky, bump it whatever you have to do for it to be read many times until it is changed for everyones sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! one last thing! If it is for level, I want to be able to do it via forge, customs, SO and campaign as I rarely play. I'm not competitive and just don't play MM in general. Teker Posted August 3, 2013 Report Share Posted August 3, 2013 I dislike the Halo 4 ranking system honestly because it feels like it was half-assed, like they could have done better. Halo 3's was the best, as it took time and skill. Getting your trueskill level up is pretty much the same as CSR but it literally has no effect on your rank in-game. I spent a lot of time trying to level up to a 50 which I never was able to but still it kept me playing. I feel like I'm gonna go back to the older Halo games when I hit SR 130 in Halo 4, maybe try to get my 50 in Halo 3, as I'm a 44 right now. In Halo: Reach, all you had to do was play A LOT to rank up, which I did, but it still felt like they could do better. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
