"Failed to write to gamer profile......"

I have played the game basically since it came out and everything has worked fine. Just recently, I started to get an error message saying: "failed to write to gamer profile, make sure profile is not on a storage device that has been removed or a storage device that has low space."

 

I use a hard drive and save everything to it. I have 188GB of space left so space is not an issue. I have tried deleting and recovering my profile, clearing cache, deleting and re-downloading DLC, and talking to Xbox customer support. When I did each of these things, the error would go away and everything would be fine for a few hours, but then it would appear again.

 

I am not sure what is causing this or how to stop it. Should I just get rid of the DLC altogether? 

 

Does anybody know the reason for this, or how to make the error stop for good?
