  1. On the Xbox One's first day in China, September 29th, the system reportedly sold a whopping 100,000 consoles! The Xbox One, despite it's rough start in 2013, seems to be picking itself up off the ground and running boldly. According to GameInformer.com, the console has apparently sold 100,000 units in China on it's first day. We unfortunately can't put these numbers in comparison with the Xbox 360 or even the PlayStation 4 or 3 as this is the first console to release in China after a twelve year ban. PlayStation plans to launch the PS4 in China in December, so we can come back then and compare day one sales. So far though, the Xbox One is the leading (and only) console in China. Despite this, the PS4 is still kicking ahead as far as we known in total sales. Even though we now have day one numbers in China alone, current sales numbers have not been released, though before the holiday begins I'm sure Microsoft will update us on sales numbers, as the last we heard in total sales was 5 million shipped. View attachment: xbox-one-white.jpg Does the news of the Xbox One's success pleasantly surprise you? Or did you expect the console to make a leap soon? Let me know below! Thank you very much for reading!

  3. Battlefield 4 has been banned in China after the release of the China Rising DLC. According to Techie News, the Chinese Government accused EA, Published of Battlefield, of creating a form of cultural invasion. China Rising is Battlefield 4's first expansion. Set on the Chinese mainland, it contains new maps, modes, vehicles, assignments, and weapons and follows the fictional story of Admiral Chang, who wants to overthrow the government. With the release, China's Ministry of Culture wants to ban all forms of Battlefield 4, and plans to prohibit the sale of physical copies of the game and all related downloads, demos, patches, and news. News site PCGames.com reports BF4 has been characterized as illegal on the grounds that it "endangers national security and cultural aggression." Electronic Arts declined to comment on the matter, but considering it doesn't sell Battlefield 4 in China, the ruling might not come to matter too much. What is troubling for the company is the delay of the DLC where the game isn't banned. In a recent comment to IGN regarding the delay of the China Rising DLC, EA said, "We know many of our players are frustrated, and we feel your pain. We will not stop until this is right." 4. The Xbox One will be available for purchase in China come September of this year! China had banned all foreign consoles in 2000 due to many parents believing that consoles would damage their youths' mental well being. The ban was lifted on January 8 of this year. Microsoft is acting quickly to get the Xbox One on the store shelves in China. Microsoft Corporate Vice President of Marketing stated, "The culture of games and entertainment is rapidly growing in China, with nearly half a billion people playing games – roughly a third of the country’s population and more than the entire population of North America. The gaming industry saw massive growth in the last year - generating more than $13 billion in 2013, an increase of 38% in the last year alone. Gamers in China have shown they love gaming – mostly on PC, mobile and online - and game developers in China have been delivering innovative games for years. Creators and gamers alike have eagerly awaited a new generation of entertainment experiences in China." He also made mention of the joint venture between Microsoft and BesTV, E-home entertainment, a program that will allow dev teams to get their games on the Xbox One in China. I'm sure this comes as great news to our fellow Chinese gamers who may have played Halo: CE on the PC but never had the opportunity to delve further into the franchise. SOURCE:XBOX WIRE
