i can't get on halo 3 matchmaking it says the playlists are loading and a message that info on xbox live cant be reached or something

Ok when i clicked on Microsoft account it sends me to a log in screen instead of usual Microsoft sign screen but a red bar with text in it says i need an extension

its says i need an extension to sign into a microsoft account can some one elaborate on that please
