  1. OBJECTION! There's no way I would think that Halo was outdated. I DON'T PLAY MODERN MILITARY SHOOTERS! When I got my hands on Halo 4 from my roommate who borrowed it to me, that was the day I decided not to get an Xbox One. Despite the bad things Microsoft was planning to do with the Xbox One, Halo 4 was the turning point. I also did not renew my Xbox Live subscription. I invested fully into my PC since then, and I am now a returning customer to Steam. The only reason I have so much knowledge about COD, Battlefield, and other 'modern' FPS titles is because I've watched my roommate play, and he complained 90% of the time. And 90% of the time, he was justified (invisible guy with C4 because the textures didn't render in Battlefield 4, anyone?) You can't fool me with a . You pretend to build bridges, but really are trying to present my 'opinions' as insignificant and override them with your own. They not only made an 'ok' movie licensed game (and we all know how bad movie licensed games typically are), but they made a game that proved that FPS genre was a viable venture on consoles (which was already thriving on PC). Their TU did do things that people liked, but then they backpedaled on it. Halo 4 did not have working file share at launch nor for many months. The game was redesigned to have an XP unlock system to sell Mountain Dew and Doritoes. Forge remains broken, with nearly every piece being off by 'just that much' when using coordinate lock or magnets, without even precision editing to manually fix it. The Halo MCC is merely a collection of PORTS. And to my knowledge, there are still matchmaking problems, and ranks keep getting reset. A responsible consumer does their research before a purchase.   2. It is true that I may have not been nice to some of the people who posted here. But you know what? When I try to be reasonable, people start talking down to me. Therefore I'm going for the preemptive strike. I won't be nice, because I know others aren't going to be nice to me. They will use excuse after excuse to defend developers and publishers who don't care about them, and will cut and water down a game as much as they can in order to get the highest amount of profit. Even when developers aren't 'appealing to a broader audience', they still cut the game up into little pieces to resell as DLC, which is exactly what happened to Destiny. I am running out of patience for people's ignorance. So please forgive me if I've taken up the role play of a lawyer, which is more concerned about figuring out the truth than worrying about people's feelings. The truth hurts. Of course I can't just present concrete evidence of wrongdoing, because of course those companies who are performing wrongdoing or planning on doing wrongdoing are going to do their best to hide it. We can only guess their motives and plans based on what we see. And all I see is DLC, DLC, DLC.   4. Very well then. Please do your utmost to calm my fears. Removing vehicles would go WAYYY to far to cater to 'a new audience'. After all, as mentioned in one of the videos I presented, vehicles do present a huge skill gap for new players to overcome. It would kill me if 343 removed them just because they felt like new players don't deserve to be killed by pro vehicle drivers.
  5. Change Log 9: -Added sneaky disarm a. Press the action button (which is reload/swap weapon) while behind an enemy player to steal their weapon or objective item, ala Mirror's Edge. It will drop your currently held weapon, so make sure that the weapon you want to drop is in your hand, and not the one you want to keep. Besides stealing weapons, this can be used for a non-violent game of keep-away oddball.
  6. *shakes head When typing in '343 confirms BTB and vehicles will return in Halo 5', I come up with nothing on Google but fans speculating on what sort of vehicles might be in Halo 5. It worries me. Never has a Halo game been so quiet about vehicle combat. In fact, every beta I've seen of Halo until now included vehicles in one form or another. I know it would be a suicidal move for 343 to exclude them, but then they DID implement their own form of killstreaks and took out the 'arena shooter' aspect of Halo during Halo 4, and only changed it when the population was nearly dead. Now I think they're taking the 'arena shooter' aspect too far and we might just end up with, well, arenas. After all, the most popular map in Halo 4 was Haven. Haven didn't have vehicles. I'm just afraid 343 is looking too close at the numbers and not interpreting them correctly. People should not consider purchasing Halo 5, at least until there's solid proof and confirmation that vehicles will exist in multiplayer. But if you're fine with a Halo that doesn't have vehicles (YES THERE ACTUALLY WAS A HERETIC THAT SAID THAT). by all means go full steam ahead.
  7. Sprint used to be an armor ability, that could be countered by other armor abilities, and it could be removed. While there were still problems with Sprint, armor lock overshadowed it, which is why people probably didn't notice Sprint as much. My title is not exaggerated. I do not believe it's a good idea for 343 to look for 'new' people, when those 'new' people might not exist in large enough numbers to warrant sacrificing the needs of those they already have. In fact, I do believe most of the people they are trying to target ALREADY HAD Halo, as well as COD. HANG ON! It's fine if you do want to continue playing Halo under 343. But many have lost trust in them. I have lost trust in them. And I only feel it appropriate to express my suspicions. I won't say that 343 won't include them in multiplayer, but I have my doubts because of what 343 tried to do to them in Halo 4, making them obsolete, which was expressed in the video vaulting frog quickly dismissed. I won't ask you not to go ahead and get Halo 5, but tell me: What if vehicles aren't in Halo 5 multiplayer? What would that do to your confidence in 343? Could you really handle it, if they pulled something like that? I say this out of concern, not spite. What is your limit when it comes to changes to Halo? When will it stop being Halo to you?
  8. Nope. But while being competitive or not DOES originate with the player themselves, games can be designed these days to encourage one type of play style verses another. The reason why Halo was successful in the past was its ability to cater to many kinds of people with many kinds of tastes; one of the primary ways the old Halos did this was by separating competitive and casual playlists. But now, because 343 feels like the 'new' people should have their needs placed above everyone else's, the whole thing is starting to unravel. To me also, a game is something I enjoy or something I don't. I don't enjoy the 'new' rules Halo 5 brings. The main point of this post is to determine whether or not it's a good idea for 343 to ignore the needs of some of the 'older' player base in order to attract a 'new' one. I don't think it is. Halo 4 is clear evidence of that. I mean, do I really have to present the darn chart that gets so over presented, and ignored anyway? I think the game should be remade from the ground up. You cannot deny that Halo 5 bears similarities to COD: Advanced Warfighter, and that's a stigma that very well be Halo 5's undoing, regardless if the mechanics work or not. Besides the port still being broken for Xbox One, there is a point where a game DOES get repetitive. DLC stopped coming for Halo 3. Also, the story can't continue on Halo 3 (unless they took Valve's route and started releasing episodes, but that's obviously not going to happen). As good as the campaign is, nobody wants to be told the same story over and over, it needs to progress. Unfortunately, the story Halo 4 presented wasn't very satisfying to many people. I myself couldn't enjoy it. Also, Xbox Live has this nasty habit of dropping support for certain games, which is why Halo veterans are so desperate to make sure Halo 5 does cater to their needs. Eventually, support will be dropped for H3 and MCC. And one more thing...if all the veterans are playing H3...wouldn't that SHRINK the actual population for Halo 5? Why is it that these people 'have to go'? It's done nothing but backfire for 343, but they assumed that if they could get rid of the veterans that they could cater to the unreasonable expectations of the generation raised on COD. That hasn't worked. It still won't work. No matter how hard they try, Halo at its core is far too different from COD to appeal to those who only like COD. And as I meantioned at the head of this post, it's pointless to try to appeal to those people because many of those people ALSO PLAYED Halo. Halo was the game to get better at, COD is the game to automatically stomp in. When one got boring, they would change to the other. But because 343 is trying to make Halo the same sort of game COD is, people actually find LESS of a reason to get Halo.
  10. I know you may not like lone wolfing and lone wolves, but is it worth making the game so that it's a near impossibility? I feel almost as though Bungie left a bomb that was bound to go off when they left Halo for other projects. Halo means so many things to soo many different people. 343 cannot simply focus on one group over another, and must find a balance. You have forgers, casuals, competitive, machinima makers, speed runners, soloists, team players, and lots of individuals in between. I have the feeling that, although Microsoft and 343 may want to downsize this game (which isn't a bad thing in itself, since Halo looks to be becoming a yearly title), that it's next to impossible without some sort of backlash. Now, I will say this: sometimes Lone Wolves ARE a problem, especially when they aren't good enough to actually fill that role and hog power weapons. But forcing people who want to play a more independent style shouldn't be punished for doing so. The problem needs to be solved, not by punishing these individuals, but rather adding an additional layer to the game that can only be accessed by teamwork. Right now, vehicles such as the Warthog immediately encourages some teamwork on their own, since they cannot be used effectively without two people. But besides vehicles, I think even more teamwork can be encouraged by solving a few problems that the old Halo trilogy had. THAT'S RIGHT I SAID IT: THE OLD TRILOGY DID HAVE PROBLEMS. What was one of those problems? Well, from DAY 1, there was one annoying thing that has always happened: people on the same team fight each other to use the power weapons. I myself have encountered this in the most ridiculous circumstances. I would ask my team "Does anybody want the sniper rifle?" I'd wait, look around, and hear nobody say anything or see anybody around. Then I would pick it up, and then the morons WHO I JUST ASKED if they wanted the sniper rifle or not would attempt to kill me and take it. I didn't even want the gun at that point. I just wanted to get rid of it say "HERE! TAKE IT AND LEAVE ME ALONE." However, in order to get rid of it I would have to run to another weapon, which they of course would take as me running away with it, and swap it out. 9 times out of 10, they would stop shooting me, look down at the gun, look back me with sudden guilt, and then pick it up and go about their way, head low. Of course the other 1 time they're just team killing for the sake of team killing. If you could drop the weapon you are carrying for your teammate without going to a different gun, that would have prevented so many friendly fire incidents. Moreover, if you could THROW a weapon or ammo to your teammates, that would be revolutionary! It would spawn a whole new breed of combat medals, from tossing weapons from teammate to teammate and getting those special assist kills. Perhap the medals would be known as 'Alley-Oop' medals? Anyway, it would cause a whole new level to the game, that might make lone wolves a more useful part to the team by them collecting weapons from the map and bringing them back to their team. Also, people who aren't good with certain weapons would no longer have an excuse not to hand them over. And noobs would have the ability to help their team without getting kills, again collecting the big guns for the strongest players to use. Is that where your opinion about people not being able to adapt to the game originated from? I do apologize for having to point a figure, but sometimes that's how you get to the truth. My personal opinion is that the reason Halo 5 doesn't appeal to me or many others is the fact that the game is both too competitive AND not competitive enough. Please hear me out. When it comes to being too competitive, I think that's because what many considered 'noobifying' features, like equipment (or in Reach and Halo 4's case armor abilities) and duel wielding, have been removed. Although now Halo is supposedly a 'fairer' game because of this, it is also now a more boring game now. That's because the game no longer has match altering events like the simple deployment of a bubble shield, or someone popping out with akimbo SMG's. What you're left with is a game which you might only enjoy if you do well at it. When it comes to not being competitive enough, that's because the game encourages defensive play. With the ability to Sprint, it encourages people to move away from their adversaries, and forces them to move with their team, if they want the greatest chance of success. This effectively kills the ability to be the 'one man army' that you could be in other Halos, since people will likely only travel with their team. Also, since people can Sprint, they can move away while a different teammate steps in. This wasn't a problem in older Halos, because likely the other player wouldn't get very far, and the one who initiated the engagement could back off and not worry too much about being pursued, since everyone moved at the same rate of speed and could fire in any direction while moving. That meant anybody that DID pursue could expect a grenade to be lobbed at them, meaning that in order to take out the person they were pursuing, they still had to outplay them. But, because people can Sprint, the other teammate of the guy who had to back off can rush forward to take advantage of the former attacker's situation of a weakened shield, and the weakened individual would be forced to engage rather than attempt escape. In other words, when you are alone, Sprint is the bane of your existence, but when you are with a team you are practically untouchable. Thus reinforcing the point that players, when they figure out how the game works, will stick close to their teams and not deviate. Essentially, at low levels of play the game is still somewhat fun, but at higher levels it becomes tedious and stressful. So, what do you think about this, Mr. Tortellini? Ah, but what you've just mentioned is what the primary problem is. And it is the problem I stated at the top of this topic. It is true, that 343 could never give each customer the EXACT game that they want. Which is why they should not have been focusing solely on one party over the other. The reason Halo was so successful in the past was because it was BOTH a casual game AND a competitive game at the same time. When 343 tried to target casual players in Halo 4, they blew off the competitive community. Now, they 'seesawed' back to the competitive side with Halo 5, and went too far. You'll have to see my reply to Mr. Tortellini to see what I'm getting at.
  12. I think you've got the definition of 'adapting', 'tolerating', and 'preferring' confused. You see, there is very little trouble when 'adapting' to different controls, or 'adapting' to a defensive style of play. Adapting to new controls happens ANY TIME you pick up a new game. In fact, the main complaint of most old time players who comment on the game's mechanics, don't complain that it's too hard, they complain that it's TOO EASY. That it's TOO EASY to stay alive. Most of the ones complaining about the mechanics being too hard are the NEW players, the players that 343 is supposedly trying to bring in. As for 'toleration', why should people expect less performance...from a NEWER game? And finally, 'preferring'. Let's face it: some people do not like the new aesthetics of Halo 5, with one major thing being pointed out being the redesign of the rocket launcher. They do not like many of the redesigns. They also do not like a defensive-type game. They are 'preferring' the methodic, but situationally dynamic style of play that older Halos offered. When you claimed that people who don't like what Halo 5 had to offer 'have trouble adapting to it', were you saying that... *slams table https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hx8WTHcie0 BECAUSE YOU THOUGHT YOUR OPINION WAS BETTER THAN THEIRS?
  13. You still haven't answered the question. What about Halo 5 are people having trouble with adapting to? You claim there are people who lack the ability to adapt to the game, but you've yet to put a finger on precisely why they are having trouble doing so. Stop beating around the bush, and at least throw out a theory.
  14. I will assume that by this 'new game', you mean Halo 5, correct? If it is true that the features of this 'new game' are difficult to adapt to, what about them makes you assume that is so?
  15. HOLD IT! Adapt to what, exactly? Perhaps I should reveal the true intent of this post. This is my personal courtroom. There are 3 cases here: 1. Is what 343 doing in the best interests of the community and future profit? 2. Are 'old players' truly too selfish to accept change? 3. Are the 'new players' even Halo fans? If I were to answer these three from my perspective in the most simple fashion, it would be "1. no 2. yes and no 3. yes and no". But that will be seen in time. Right now, the question I give to you is "Adapt to what?"
  16. OBJECTION. Just because you don't understand the situation, doesn't mean the situation doesn't exist. Just because you supposedly haven't heard the excuse, doesn't mean it hasn't been said. But what you've said is likely untrue, because you found this post, and chances are you found other posts, which DO bring up that excuse. In fact, this is the VERY EXCUSE you are using right now, just worded differently, saying 'Games are supposed to change as they move on'. 343 making the game they want isn't necessarily the same game their customers want, which is far more important. If they wanted to make the game they want to, then it needs to stop using the title 'Halo', and become its own IP. There are several examples of games that haven't 'moved on', such as Dynasty Warriors, that still turn a profit. There are also examples ot games that have 'moved on' as you put, that fall flat on their faces like HALO 4, which had a dead population within three months. 343 cannot ride on Halo's name again to turn a profit I think this time. Maybe most of the flak is from people who refuse to adapt, BUT THAT'S THEIR CHOICE.   17. Despite the overarching controversy, this is a sort, simple refute to the fanboy excuse of '343 changed this game to appeal to a broader audience excuse'. The funny thing is, it's actually true. But just like how 343 doesn't understand what made Halo popular, Microsoft and their investors don't understand what made it PROFITABLE. What they fail to understand is that most people don't own just ONE game. This is true of at least 99% of all Halo players. And chances are, at least 50% of them, in addition to Halo, also had... CALL OF DUTY. In their desperate gambit to attract the 'casual' player that plays COD, they failed to realize THEY ALREADY HAD THEM. In short, Microsoft thinks they will continue to make a bunch of money...but they stand to lose everything. WE stand to lose Halo. So stop using that excuse. It's only reinforcing a bad financial decision. Investors may be in it to make money, but that doesn't mean they always make wise decisions. In fact, a large group of people does not guarantee wise decisions. Take a look at this video, and see if you can find parallels between what I've said and what happened in this historical situation. Microsoft, 343, and their investors are just as likely to make silly mistakes when it comes to looking at statistics. They thought "WOW! So many people are playing COD, maybe we can get them to play this game instead!" when in reality...they already were. But now they're not, because why buy a game it's the same as the other? So I suppose that it's also hilariously true when fanboys say that people who abandon Halo aren't hardcore Halo fans...That's because many of them also played COD. I guess fanboys and haters are both right...too bad nobody's a winner. Excuse me while I laugh my buttocks off, reattach it, and laugh it off again.
  18. Okay, there's not going to be a 'change log' spoof for this since this doesn't actually have to do with the ingame mechanics. It actually has to do with the matchmaking mechanics. As you all know, it's rather annoying when people quit a match, and that people in skill-based ranking Halo games would de-rank so that they could play with noobs. Most people suggest ideas that would punish such people, but I suggest that the game be made so that they never want to leave, and never want to derank. But how can that be done? Well, I was inspired. Here's the story: When playing on Guardian in Halo 3, 6v6, my team was getting slaughtered, and quit out, leaving a huge lead for the other team. Two members of the other team quit, because they thought the match wouldn't be fun anymore 6v1. So it became a game of 1v4, the one being me. But unlike most, I actually was looking forward to bringing the match back. I knew it had nothing to do with how well the other team was playing the game, but how poorly my team did. Now that my team was gone and stopped giving the other team free kills, it was all up to me. It was unfair...for the other team! I managed to win that game 29 to 28 when time ran out. Was the other team disappointed? No, actually. Their last words before leaving the lobby were "Dude, you're a freakin' ninja!" We all had fun. I had brought fun out of a match that otherwise would have died. Did I think I was going to win? No, but I enjoyed 'being the mouse'. Now, Robocraft, a free-to-play game, has a system that judges robots and player skill to matchmake. While most matches are a team of equal number and equal level robots to the other, some matches are completely unbalanced. One or two players with high-level robots will fight an entire team of low-level robots with more members than normal. These are 'boss fight' matches, where the large group of low-level robots work together to take on an otherwise insurmountable foe. What if highly skilled players could form a small team and fight noobs in an overly large team? What if it was even 1 v 8 or more?!? This would give highly-skilled players the noob stomping they crave and low-level players an opportunity to learn how to work together as a team! The superior numbers on the noob team would give them a huge psychological moral boost to stay in the match, and the pro won't want to quit because it's a target rich environment where the ability to make multi-kills is nearly limitless, where normally a pro playing other pros won't probably get many multi-kills. Also, there's a mental buffer against defeat, where noobs would say 'he was just too good for us' or the pro saying 'there were just too many'. I think purposely matching high-level players against many low-level players would benefit the game as a whole, making the learning process of the game much faster, and the game that much more exciting, regardless of who wins or loses.
  19. Halo would be gone by the time I would finish any programming classes with the rate 343 is running the series into the ground. This really isn't for my benefit, but for theirs. If they're truly so desperate for ideas, they would actually look into this, once enough replies and views happen. But, if all they want to do is make money and nothing else, well, Halo is already a lost cause. Probably has been. Like I said earlier, these posts are for anybody who has the ability and resources that is willing to REPLACE Halo as well...mwahahaha! I'd rather play than make games, just sayin'. I hear that the job can be a nightmare, with your bosses taking advantage of the fact you want to make video games.
  20. So...what do you actually think about the topic at hand? To sum it up, I proposed that Sprint be removed and replaced with a 'Finesse' mechanic that allows you to run and shoot at the same time, as well as perform rolls, forward flips, side flips, and backflips. If you perform a roll or flip, your state is reset to default and you have to press the 'Finesse' button again in order to get back up to speed. You cannot zoom while in 'Finesse' mode, and melee would be harder to control (i.e. flying kicks that might miss). If you are shot it also resets your movement to default, like de-scoping. I also talked about how duel-wielding could easily be an armor ability (with improvements), how to buff/nerf certain items/weapons/abilities that already have existed in Halo, and weapon drop/toss system that allows you to easily share equipment with teammates, or keep important stuff out of enemy hands. See the paragraphs for more details. Changelog 8: -Added more features to 'Finesse' a. Contextual moves. While not all these moves are available depending on what weapons you are carrying, they are as follows: 1. Clamber. While I am not ok with how 343 is implementing it in Halo 5 vs. jumping higher/crouch jumping, I can morph it into something more acceptable. By allowing clamber ONLY while under the influence of 'Finesse', this mean that if someone is shot and 'De-Finessed' (like de-scoped), they cannot perform this move until they enter 'Finesse' mode again. In fact, if a Spartan is shot from the front or head shot in the back (without needing to kill them), they will actually fall before they can complete their clamber. I know it doesn't seem like clamber needs a nerf, but remember Spartans have shields. I think it would make the suppression mechanic even better. To clamber over a low surface without jumping (which may not be advisable in most circumstances other than stealth), crouch and then press the jump button. 2. Forward Flip. This existed before, but I'm restating it for this list. If you are moving forward while under the influence of 'Finesse', and jump, you will do a forward flip that will let you get to higher places than normal. You cannot fire at all until you are upright. Note that while performing this move you cannot shoot. 3. Kart wheel. If you are strafing while under the influence of 'Finesse', you may either no-hand or one-hand cartwheel, depending on the weapons you are carrying. Only small weapons, and certain power weapons (like the shotgun), can be fired while in a kart wheel. Other weapons, such as accuracy weapons like the BR, and medium weapons like the AR, cannot. The only heavy power weapons that can fire while in a kart wheel are the Spartan laser (if it was charging first and fires mid-kart wheel), the Rail gun (same as Spartan laser), the Grenade launcher, and the Sticky detonator (which is small anyway). However, if you kart wheel sideways off a ledge, and end up upright in the air, you may fire midair. Note it is slower than Forward flip because you are strafing. 4. Back Flip. Not as high or as fast as the other flips, but you can fire while in it, only with a brief period mid-animation where you can't. 5. Slide. If you are running forward at speed you can slide to a crouch and shoot. Remember you disable 'Finesse' when you do this, like the other moves. 343 had this, but I want it nerfed the same way clamber is. 6. Roll (something that existed earlier, just a reminder). If you are moving but not at full speed (which cannot be attained unless moving directly forward) and crouch, you roll in the direction you are moving. -Added new contextual melee moves. 1. If, during any flip you press the melee button, it will perform a disarm move after the flip, and will force any player to which the hit connects to drop their weapon(s if dueled), but will have reduced damage on the shields. It cannot kill by itself, but it does also a very brief stun. If the enemy player/AI is in critical condition (one-shot), it will knock that player to the ground briefly. Think 'The Matrix' movie series. However, it should be noted that Spartans are able to do that in canon.
  21. That's fine. I'd like them to stay as close to the originals as possible too. But for some reason everyone thinks that even though the old formula isn't broken, it needs fixing. However, I would like the ability to drop and toss weapons to teammates, if only one thing was to be added from my entire list. It would help tone down the betrayals, and perhaps even give players who aren't as good meaningful purpose in trying to collect weapons for the better members of their team to drop for them. Personally, I'd rather just drop the Sniper Rifle than fight for it. And if the guy using it isn't doing so well, he has no excuse to not give it to someone else, since he won't have to go looking for a weapon to swap it with. Basically, I would just fix problems that actually exist in the old formula rather than create a whole new formula with its own problems. Thank you.   23. I'm giving up. The Halo 5 beta game play is the last straw. I've already observed game-breaking mechanics, and noticed things missing and suspicious. -The ADS. It IS ADS. I always thought that smart-scope in the books was an explanation for the cross-hair and the instant zoom mechanics that fill your entire vision. But 343I made it into dumb scope, which instead of helping you it actually takes away precious milliseconds that could have been spent zoomed in already. This means the guy already zoomed in and shooting is going to have a bigger advantage than ever before. I don't care how subtle the effect is, the point is that it DOES NOT help anyone. -Thruster pack. Spartans (at least in the books/movies) are already capable of performing most of the maneuvers that the thruster pack adds to the game, and the moves that Spartans can't normally do are stupid and unbalanced; so much so I fear that people are just eventually going to stop using their weapons and just keep tackling people. -The non-shield-recharging Sprint. Great. We've gone from people getting away too easy to being unable to escape at all. The enemy KNOWS you can't recharge your shields when you're running. OF COARSE he's going to chase you. -I didn't see duel-wielding. Is it suddenly just not cool anymore? Well, neither is Halo I guess. -No Elites. I don't care if the Master Chief Collection allows you to play as Elites. That is a collection of old games. Why no c in nu gamez?!? -They say that the 'smart scope' doesn't make you more accurate. So...why iz AR no bloom then when in that mode?!? -SMG looks like P90 with a top-mount magazine instead of a side-mounted one, at least while held. I might have let this go if duel-wielding was a thing, because it would have made more sense to reload it with a mag like that. But there is no dueling it seems, sooo... -Where Halo 4 was too 'casual', it seems Halo 5 will be too 'hardcore', seemingly being built from the ground up as a spectator sport. That might not seem bad, but did anyone notice any 'killer cones' or things of the sort in any of the maps shown? I'm thinking all the random, hilarious physics-based shenanigans that helped give the game replay value are about to go bye-bye. -The automated 'Weapon Incoming' announcements. Great. Now people will cluster around every power weapon BEFORE it spawns in. And everyone but one person will feel bad when they don't get it after fighting so hard. Additionally, everyone on the other team will KNOW when it is picked up, so the guy who did get it won't be able to surprise anyone. -I didn't see vehicles either. Call me paranoid, but I'm wondering if they are about to go the route of modern military shooters and control every action you make in the campaign, dispensing of the sandbox we know and love. You might not get to decide if you want to steal an enemy vehicle. And the vehicle sections you do get will force you to use the vehicle, even if you don't want to. Without this freedom in the campaign, of coarse they might not give you that luxury in multiplayer. It sounds unbelievable, I know...but really what won't they do if they know they've got your pre-order? In short: DO NOT PRE-ORDER. I don't care if you get it day one, but don't pre-order. There's no need to due to the advent of digital downloading, and stock won't run out. All you are doing is telling them that you don't care about what the final product looks like, you are just impatient and want it now. Therefore, they won't care what kind of product they give you. Not pre-ordering actually DOES work and forces them to release a quality product. Look at Battlefield: Hardline. When the pre-orders didn't come in, they delayed the launch because they KNEW if they released it broken, they wouldn't make any money because they hadn't made the money from the pre-orders already.   24. Change Log 7: -Simplified the weapon toss/drop system. a. Pressing up on the D-pad will enable 'Toss' mode. You may continue to press up on the D-pad to cycle through tossing your currently held weapon (which is the first selection), the weapon's ammo, an Equipment, and a non-primed grenade (as in it will not explode). The non-primed grenade you toss is the grenade type you had selected before going into this mode. Toss the selected object by pressing the throw grenade button once selected. After tossing your desired object, it will reset back to throwing grenades regularly. This feature can be used to aid your teammate by throwing them ammo, weapons, or Equipment to them. It may also be used to throw away items that you might want to keep away from the enemy if you know you are about to die. Also useful for trolling, and surviving rare plasma sticks on your carried weapon. b. Left and right D-pad cycle through your stock of grenades and Equipment. c. Pressing down on the D-pad will enable 'Drop' mode. This functions in much the same way as 'Toss' mode, but instead of throwing the item it drops it at your feet. This feature makes it easier to exchange weapons with a teammate close by, although you may hold the action button at the same time as your teammate if you are face to face. It also is useful for bringing weapons to form a cache, and also if you want to set up a trap involving a strategic retreat. Note that the weapon will despawn after five minutes if this feature is used. Weapons will still despawn normally if regular drop events occur, such as death or weapon swap. (Pro tip: Instead of swapping for a weapon directly, drop it and then pick up the other weapon. The weapon you left there will stay longer. Unless you don't want that to happen, in which case the 'Toss' function can be used to hide it away from the enemy.)
