  1. ALL of the weapons. Everyone is here.

I'm sick if them removing weapons like some of them are so bad that it needed to happen, especially when Warzone's like "Lol, nobody gives a **** if your weapon is OP, there's literally 100 more just like it". And yes, this even applies to the crappy Focus Rifle from Reach that I hated and STILL hate with a passion.

But if they do remove weapons you know damn well they'll make DLC for them later, which is still infuriating.

  2.

Now, will Blue Team come back in Halo: Infinite? I'm not saying it's impossible but I'm not sure what Blue Team would do story wise, as far as I'm aware most people disliked the team aspect of Halo 5's campaign.

It's not that I disliked that it was a thing, i disliked that they did the whole thing wrong. Blue Team barely does anything in the story, and have atrocious AI.

It's a situation where if they had made it good, then it would be good, and no-one would have anything to say about it. Blue Team as a Co-Op concept is very interesting, and not something new to Halo. Halo 3 had the Arbiter and Elite buddies for Co-Op after all, though only the Arbiter showed up in Single-Player.

  3. I posted about it in the other Poll thing, but I want it to return to a Halo: Reach system where you buy the armor with cR and whatever. You can unlock special armor by doing super special tasks, and if you want to not have to deal with any of that then you can also buy your way to the armor like an a-hole.

Of course, our glorious Vidmaster, Recon, Nightfall, Helioskrill WHAT THE HELL EVER will NOT be bought! NU UH. NO.

  4. Infection. Except Ghostbusters, the mode with the Focus Rifles. That's the worst Infection gametype.

    Honorary mentions:

    • Objective modes like CTF, Oddball, KOTH. Unfortunately, everyone and their mother thinks these modes are the Dollar-Brand Slayer, and never get the ******* objective. Go play Slayer you idiots!
    • Action Sack, specifically for Husky Raid. I think in all of Halo, Husky Raid is my fav gametype. Unfortunately though, it never got its own playlist.

  5. I think Halo 5 was the first real game I got into that had "loot boxes", so at that time it didn't bother me as much: they barely do even now. However, there's problems with the system that I can't ignore, and that need to be changed.

Anyway, here's some pros and cons to the REQ system (there's prolly more):

    Pros:

    1. Obtaining rare items is far easier

This is a debatable Pro. Setting money aside (because we know that usually always makes things easier), if you grind enough you'll be able to get the sufficient number of packs to get what you really want. I don't know the logistics of it, so I'm not sure exactly how long you have to grind, but I believe that it's not as bad as having to grind for armor in Halo: Reach. Almost everything is up for grabs, unlike Reach where most of the armor is locked behind a cR wall that everyone has to overtake.

    2. REQs can be gifted

There's nothing like this in older Halo games; the ability to gift someone armor, weapons, what have you. I mean, you could transfer an Xbox profile to someone, but that's like, really antiquate.

    3. Special, non-REQ armor still exists

Achilles, Olive,Timmy, and some 343 Fotus and Assault Rifle skins I think are the only ones, but that's still stuff you can't spend your way to get.

    Cons:

    1 It's Pay-To-Win in Warzone

The "assistance" may be marginal, but having access to the most powerful weapons in Warzone because you have money - even if you don't utilize them correctly - makes it Pay-To-Win. Honestly, it's Warzone, so I didn't really care to begin with: Arena is still your precious, core Halo experience. If you've got enough skill you should edge out the rich kids, though the odds are stacked against you.

    2. REQ drops are random (except in certain special REQs)

There's a higher guarantee you'll get something important with Legendaries and whatever, but you know, it's still randomized gambling.

    3. Most REQ items are decreased in value: Quality over Quantity

In order to make REQs work as a genuine Loot Box experience, 343 had to make a ****load of "filler" to be contained within. Most people agree that Seeker is a bad set, but I don't know what the hell they're on about: it looks FAR better than Pioneer, which nobody had **** to say about back in Halo 4. I don't agree that 343 didn't put any effort into most of the sets, since allot of them I really like, but I have to agree that having so much of it devalues the overall group. Not to mention, if you can get the most rare stuff by just paying for it, it undermines the achievement of getting that through hard work and dedication.

    3. Loot Boxes prey upon the younger generation: Halo 5 is Rated T

Laws against minors gambling, bla bla bla, we all know what's going on with that. Multiple countries are seeking ways to regulate gambing to prevent Loot Boxes prominence, and REQs I think fall under the Loot Box umbrella.

So, how would you fix that? Well the obvious solution is to not have them at all, but I don't think they'll go away just like that. Still, my ideal solution is this:

Destroy REQs. The armor and weapon system returns to that of Halo: Reach where you earn credits necessary to buy stuff. However... there's an option to spend money for these sets, and in some cases, there will be big armor sets containing exact pieces. There are benefits to either buying a set, or unlocking it in-game: such as being given different variations of that same armor to ensure both camps feel special for having unlocked it with money or with credits. You would also make it so that either of these alterations cannot be achieved by the other camp, making that exclusive.

  6. Realistically, I think that's too big a departure for most Halo fans to handle, especially after being beaten and bruised for the majority of this decade. Like, I'm hyperbolic about that, and everybody knows I complain about 343, but I do like allot of what they've done with the Halo series. However, that still doesn't detract from what they've failed to do, and my refusal to be hyped about them anymore. I'm waiting to see what they market the game as, and what the final product is: contrasting the two perceived versions as well as the influence the gaming industry has had on them. That's something I've had to do for MCC, and Halo 5, which were sold with blatant lies.

Negativity aside though, to expand on this being too much for the community to handle, the series has changed enough already that everybody just wants a classic experience again, which is why ElDewrito gained major steam earlier in the year (although half of that reason was because it was an actual PC Halo game, no bs). I don't agree with them completely scrubbing the new artstyle like everyone seems to be hyped about, and I really hope they don't completely retcon Halo 5's narrative or anything... but from the looks of it, it looks like Halo CE 2, which I'd be okay with. In that vein of Halo, it could still technically be an open-world game, but set across various missions that instead have extremely large environments.

Though I think the major factor here in regards to an open-world experience is the title itself, Halo: Infinite. I've touched on this in a previous poll, but Infinite feels like too generic, and staggering a title to refer to just a Halo CE clone or something. With the dumb emphasis on wildlife (which has NEVER been that apparent in Halo), it certainly feels like they're heading in that direction, which I don't agree with. It's a situation where the final product will be what tips the scales, like what happened with Metroid Prime 1. Still, I'm working with 343's track record to inform their future product, and it's not looking so good, so I don't have much to be hyped about: actually I'm not hyped at all.

  7. It's prolly a new UNSC AI that's female. If they had Roland as the AI then sjws would flip about Cortana being replaced by a guy AI solely because he's a guy. I dunno if Microsoft would push that agenda, but what I do know is that basing judgement on gender alone is really dumb.

Contextually though, Roland being the AI doesn't really make sense since he's the Infinity guy, and it seemed like he was going off the deep end in 5: hinting at him being decommissioned for rampancy onset. Since Chief's back with the UNSC (presumably), and prolly under their microscope, they prolly would give the guy either a clone of Cortana, or an AI that is very similar in order to for him to continue working as closely as he did with OG Cortana. Though this doesn't factor in the fact that Cortana is Hitler 2.0, and all the AIs are bloodlusted.

I'm not even sure the UNSC would allow themselves to utilize ANY AIs really. The only ways I think they would allow Chief to have an AI is that he's either given a dumb AI like Auntie Dot, or is forced to utilize a Cortana clone made by Halsey to defend himself against OG Cortana, who's no doubt gonna be hunting Chief to the ends of the universe. This AI could utilize tech from the Janus Key bla bla bla, Halsey does a thing to make Iso-Cortana annihilate Ur-Cortana upon contact, etc.

  8. It's because the Infinite subtitle whatever added onto the Halo brand caters to the largest casual audience who, upon seeing the trailer, suddenly believes that all their "classic artstyle" dream fetishes will come true, and that our lord and savior 343 has finally saved us from the damnation they themselves made for us. /s

Seriously though, I hate the title. It's dumb, and really generic. Halo 5: Guardians is a good title. Bad game, but good title. They shot themselves in the foot by calling it Halo Infinite because... what happens after that? The context of the title is really important here, because if the game was called Halo: Infinite Evolved then the pressure wouldn't be that bad, but since it's just called Halo Infinite...

This is the same problem Call of Duty had with Infinite Warfare. That is by far the dumbest title Activision has used in the entire series due to the fact that it suggests the warfare goes on forever, so what's the freaking point? It's even more hairbrained when you take into account that there's gonna be another CoD coming out a year after this one, sooo.... In Halo Infinite's case, it suggests that we're basically stuck with these dumb Halos forever. Or the series itself is "Infinite", and will never die out despite the fact that it almost died 3 separate times since Bungie handed over the reigns. Maybe the title is a last ditch effort to convey to fans that 343 is committed to keeping the series alive, idk.

Additionally, the setup for this game is pretty suspicious given our Battle Royale ecosystem we got going on. If Call of Duty, and Fallout are cashing in on the hype, then I suspect Microsoft wants a piece of the pie as well. It would make sense for Halo Infinite since games like Rust, and Minecraft essentially go on forever (which Microsoft owns Minecraft now, mind you). We also gotta remember that Halo's been doing the Battle Royale crap since Halo: Reach, looong before it was an actual thing, and that we also have Warzone, a huge sandbox that easily could be altered for a Battle Royale mode. Combined with the generic title, classic artstyle nostalgia play, and apparent open world traits, I bet you Halo Infinite's gonna be a Halo: CE and Minecraft fusion Battle Royale experience shipping alongside standard modes. I hate the mere suggestion of it, but it's a rational evolution for the series.

(Oh yeah, forgot to mention... Animals, and nature were given allot of screentime in the Halo Infinite trailer... when have animals and their ilk ever been relevant to players in gameplay? Wanton destruction of Moa is fun, but it's a meme pastime. For these animals to be relevant, they'd have to be swole as hell, capable of killing any Spartan with ease. Or... conspiracy theory here... we're gonna be harvesting these animals and wildlife for resources... which reinforces the notion that Halo Infinite is a Rust-like experience.)
