  1. Those servers are down I believe, believe me I have tried putting my old Halo 2 in to play online and got nothing (or I would still be playing that) You cannot argue with the amount of people online, its midnight mountain standard time so its kind of late... kind of. But there are a total of 12,500 people playing online! that is ridiculously low! During prime hours there are maybe double that amount. Comparing that to Halo 2 would be just the ranked slayer playlist. People that don't say this game is a total flop in regards to its online playing community please tell me why the significant decline in numbers? Halo 2 was out the same time as CoD and it had quadruple the amount of online players this game does
  2. I loved how they had social and ranked play lists in the past games. You could get the best of both worlds to be able to practice and hone your skills in social then play competitively in ranked with other people who wanted to have a competitive gaming experience. I am not sure on the numbers, but when I get online and see less than 100k playing online that's not a lot at all. Reach at least had "arena" which was competitive with iron, bronze, silver, gold, and onyx.
  3. Dear 343, I hope everyone takes this as constructive criticism. Here is my issue with the last two Halo games (one of which 343 didn't even create) It seems that Halo is trying to tap into the CoD crowd by changing the game to have similarities and in doing so have really downgraded the online gaming experience the original Halo versions had offered. Halo 2/3 were genuine and had originality, now you have this mentality of specializations and lost the true competitive gaming Halo had in the past. I nearly jumped out of my chair when I saw the update of CSR 343 launched just recently. I called all my close friends who stopped playing Halo due to the loss of the "Halo identity". This is a fantastic step to reviving the purist aspect of the original Halo spirit, but it's still not enough. In the past I would play Call of Duty for that type of gaming experience and would also play Halo for a different (better) gaming experience. With the recent changes the games are to similar with Halo being a poor mans version of CoD. I find myself being nostalgic when I think back on how much fun it was to watch your ranking increase/decrease after every ranked game you played in Halo 2/3, having three or more close friends playing competitively and coming up with new strategies to try and collectively raise our ranking. Halo 2 rewarded skill, Halo 4 rewards everyone who puts in hours of game play which gives off a mentality of "everyone gets a medal" rather than the game being "elite". I think the CSR update was a great step for Halo's identity revival. I really hope there are more changes to come where you don't have to go online or to Waypoint to see a persons CSR. No more Call of Halo
