  1. Didn't know about the Halo 2 thing where it got magnetism started lol. I feel that when every new halo game comes out they seem to say that the previous one was superior. People use to criticize Reach all the time and say it was the downfall of Halo and when Halo 4 came out the started to praise Halo: Reach. Guarantee when Halo 5 comes out people are gonna look back and say Halo 4 was better. People don't like change. But something (possibly the only) thing I dislike in halo 4 is the aim assist and magnetism. Halo players are blinded that the past halo games have had mistakes and it started new things.

  2. Alot of people I encounter on websites, customs or on matchmaking think they are soooo good apparently. I don't know what triggers this encounter in Halo 4 because in Reach it wasn't so many. Their would be the occasional person that would be decent but not even good. Now in Halo 4 people try soo hard and think they're good.

Well I'm sure it is the massive aim assist in Halo 4 because people could shoot the torso or beside the head and end up with a headshot. That didn't happen so often in past other halo games where wherever you had your reticle is where the bullet is going to go. But with the massive hitbox's and magnetism in this game even nobody's could out br/dmr a decent player. Then they go ahead and brag about it and say they did this on who.

it just irritated me and wanted to know if anybody had these encounters. I don't think it is healthy and that aim assist and the hit box's need need to be reduced ASAP. But of course I'm sure people will argue that it is good to help the people just starting but the fact is that you're not going to get better with fake aim.

  3. Lol, Everytime I use banshee it's OP. It doesn't matter if the vehicle is weak itself... it depends of pilot or driver. In matchmaking I am guaranteed a rampage if I'm in banshee because I got so much experience in it. Also their are unique banshee tricks that are exclusive in Halo 4. If you guys think banshee is weak than you guys shouldn't pilot it and give it to someone else. Randoms take my banshee and end up either getting jacked or ending the game with a killing spree.

This doesn't convince you. Watch this clip of one of the top ten banshee pilots in Halo 4-

I know people complain about vids with people doing well against noobs so here is a vid against Naked Eli and mlg pros.

  4. Take out the version numbers and just call it outpost. It is kind of unprofessional when version number is up because nobody wants an unfinished map if it is entitled with a version.

  5. Nice, I was going to get my first 50 on rumble pit but I stopped at around 25 because I wanted to get a 50 in dominion first. In dominion the csr actually takes way longer to rank you up than in any other playlist, it really is time consuming. I'm csr 30 right and this kind of gives me the idea to do something like this too but, of course of dominion games.

    Also nice gameplay ^_^

  6. Don't forget, there are also the interiors of the islands which can be put to use. The water looks completely different, and the edges of the islands look like mountains. Lighting can be a bit wonky though.

That also goes with building my own terrain though :( I'd like to, but if I did so then the bases I would make would not be a "base" but merely a location. That is why when making a BTB map with own terrain, it is better for extraction then dominion. I have seen two great dominion maps used with terrain don't get me wrong, it is just that the novice or even intermediate forger will not be able to pull it off. I could probably do it, but I ain't good with my own terrain. -_-

  7. Well, you don't have to make the map entirely on the flat island tops. You can use the rocks near the base, hang your map off the side and use part of the terrain as a high ground, or do a number of other things.

I have tried a couple of times using the water to make a docks themed map, but with the map using walls and blocks for my own terrain, I was unable to make a quality dominion based map. Instead I did turn it into a BTB map that I have left unfinished. Usually making a dominion map with own terrain does create many risks but it rewards by differentiating the map.

I can concur with this, that forge island is bad for certain things. I was expecting a boost in number of placeable pieces to match Reach's count. Instead, some of the pieces, such as windows, inclines, and platforms are now more limited in number. My suggestion, use a curve control, instead of verticality. Bend the map a little and make some sub bases the replacement for vertical change.

Using the whole island is something I did experience with my first time but it was too big, so I already understand that that would not be the ideal idea. Also the map I'm attempting to make at the moment is inspired by Exile, which I recognized is pretty flat so I'm having a bit of support by that.

Any maps I have made on FI have been entirely in my own terrain, with a few modded in Rock 5's for support. (PM me for GT of the guy who did the mods)

I triedsking one for my Star Wars: Battlefront gametype, but it fell apart. I honestly think Erosion and Impact are best for dominion.

FI has water, and good background/ lighting

I love the rock mods... but if the map does have a chance to go into matchmaking, it would not be able to be in considering that modded maps are unacceptable into matchmaking. But for a fun dominion map with lots of changes and natural inclines, I would most likely do that in more of my own spare time.

  8. Originally I was going to entitle this topic Forge Island sucks, but I have seen  a couple of decent maps used with the terrain wisely and that would therefore contradict what I would say.

I am more of a dominion forger and I know ALOT about of dominion. And I have initially made around maybe 3-5 dominion maps on forge island  (some tested, most scrapped) and I have not been able to continue any.

I found the greatest disadvantage to making a dominion map in Forge Island is the flatness! It is unbelievably difficult to make an enjoyable dominion map on that canvas. You would have to work through many sight lines and then create alot of own terrain to differentiate the map and not give it that even level fighting ground.

If you have attempted to forge a dominion map, post how you feel. This is my perspective so don't feel offended on how I view things.

  9. Map: Contingency

    Gamertag: Mexican Torta 7

    Gametype: Dominion

    Player Count: 12 players

Also when map exchanging is done and when everybody has had their turn:

    Map: Metro

    Gametype: 2 site Extraction

    Player Count: 12 players

Notes: Want to see if frame rate is unbearable and to see if I should recreat map somewhere else or something.

  10. Well, I don't see too many people hanging out their too much, but you may be right because if it was enhanced than it would take away from the map. Ummmm... I'd probably keep the middle same then.

  11. Thanks Torta for your feedback. We made it vertical attempting something new to the game, if it didn't work for you, it didn't work out. However, we had a really good time ( long time too, over 48 hours) making this map and testing it. In the end, we also had some awesome dominion games with full custom rooms. I agree that it is not immediately grasped what the strategic positions are, but its equal on both sides, and we meant for people to jump, up and down, floor to floor to get away from things or move strategically around the map. Reviews usually have some good qualities to them, i.e. not completely maligning, so we sure hope you liked something about the map. Although thruster and jetpack are definitely better for access, you have to be half way decent at controlling your character because active camo and sentry units are also quite decent.

We had an awesome time making Basejump, we're glad that THFE allowed us to put it in the lobby and that we are giving people another choice for a dominion map. Thank you for the feedback.

That is perfectly fine, I have played on this map quite a while ago and I still remember my reaction due to the reason I'm more of the competitive player than anything. It's good that you were doing something different and I'd never trash something that took thinking and time.
