  1. As a huge fan of the Total War franchise, I am very happy and I'll absolutely watch every part of the Let's play.

Having played the Grand Campaign as both Epirus and Syracuse, I'd suggest you go with them. They have a very hard starting position, especially Epirus (they have a diplomatic relation of -20 with every greek faction, which makes them hated by every neighbour), and they'll have to complement each others' armies, for Epirus lacks heavily in the navy and Syracuse lacks in good horsemen.

Anyway, good luck, and I'll be looking forward to this serie!

  3. Yeah I'll jump on the train too.

I've been lurking a lot in the last years, since I've been caught in another forum and basically left this one. So I think my opinion wouldn't count too much, me being an inactive member.

But every month I checked back to see who was the newest MoM, and the most recent changes to the Moderating team.

Although I respect RSR's decision, and although I consider him one of the wisest members here, I think this time he took the wrong decision, for the many reasons stated above from many members. But it's even easier than you think.

The whole MoM idea was born as a reward to the most active members that contributed fundamentally to the growth of this site. MoM is something earned, something that should make you feel special and unique in that month and in the months to come. Because you were handpicked from the community, the crowd, and you stood as an example of how every member here should be and act alike, and you should be respected and loved.

I remember when Victory Element asked me and a bunch of other trustworthy members, when he got elected as MoM, to buy a Micorosft Points card (back when they still existed) to give at each Moderator (Sorry if you didn't want this to get public, VE, but it's been a long time ago). This was the first time I ever put some money in a forum, because I was really active at that time and the community was at its best (in my opinion). THIS was an action worthy of being a MoM. THIS is why you were elected as a MoM. THIS was something unique, special, an act of kindness that not everyone would've been willing to do.

MoM shouldn't be awarded just because it is a new month and we need a new MoM. And most of all, MoM shouldn't be a propaganda instrument.

  4. I suppose he is either a seek-and-destroy Spartan, or he is just trying to find the Chief.

It really looks like a badass, that's a fact. His armour is quite advanced, I'd guess a MJOLNIR GEN3. Anyway, it really looks like Forerunner design.

Interesting is also the new design of the BR he's holding, if that is actually a BR. The scope is quite different, restricted like a short-range weapon.

I suppose, he being a new character, that we'll play as him in the main Campaign, at least a part of it. Maybe we'll see a split up Campaign, like Halo 2 one, where we play some missions as Master Chief and some as the new spartan?

One thing is for sure: ONI wouldn't send a Spartan of their own to follow the Master Chief without a good reason.

  5. Well AD, when I joined here you did probably just resign and one of the first topics I saw on here was about your retire from the forum. I've always looked at you as some sort of God-like member, and I can remember perfectly the time when SJ was left alone as the only Moderator. Then you came back, and SJ left. Then you promoted RSR, and here we are, the cricle is closed. It's sad to see you leaving here again, but you've already done so much, no one will ever question your decisions.

Goodbye, and may God protect you and your family.

  6. Yes, it was indeed a success. The multiplayer is great, I love it, it's funny and smooth, and the first time I picked up my controller and jumped into a match, I got the same feeling I had when playing Halo 3. I love its multiplayer.

But Campaign? Nope, not at all. It doesn't feel like Halo, there's no struggle for survival, there's no connection with the past. New suit, new ship, new enemies, new Covenant, new Forerunner's style, new UNSC. I don't like it. I mean, I like the story behind it, but I dislike how they created it, how they told us the story. Am I surprised? Not at all, I mean 343i was born as a multiplayer-only studio, it's obvious that they made a great multy and a poor solo. But I am disappointed, and I don't know if Halo 5 will change my point of view, though I really hope so.

Too long, didn't read? Yes, an economic success.

  7. Agreed it feels like everyone and their dog is asking for something to be crammed into Halo 5. How about we let 343i decide what to do with the series(lore wise)

Also I'm sure they will return somehow via comics, novels, main game, spinoff game, tv show, etc.

I mean 343i told us what happened to Jun(Read Halo: Initiation its a neat comic explaining Palmers backstory and how she became a Spartan)

Yeah you know what? It'd be great if 343i told us that via the games. Initiation can't be found here in Italy and I can't really know what's the story behind EVERYTHING.

That's just my italian rage, we're always cut off from everything. But I agree, everything can't be explained in the games. I just hope something will be clarified in the next installment, such as what happened to the Arbiter, Rtas, the Brutes, and every former Covenant faction.

  8. It's always annoyed me that despite it's significance, there are NO images whatsoever related to the Sangheili-San shyuum war, at least to my knowledge. Both races were supposedly already pretty advanced when the war started. The Prophets ended up as the scientists and engineers in the Covenant and were copying Forerunner tech long before then, so pre-covenant San shyuum technology and style must not have been a far cry from covenant tech, but there may have still be differences. Even so, we never see anything of purely Elite design. My searches have come up dry. Is there ANY visual content related to this war (besides the covenant mural stick drawings), official or fan-made?

You'd better not search for fan-made images, I ruined my childhood with some of those.

Seriously though, there is no image related to that period, but I see what you mean. I've always wondered how Sangheili and San 'Shyuum fought and how did their ships look like.
