  1. Halo Reach probably has the worst map selection of any Halo game since Halo 1. You always go through big team battle playing the same maps, tons of forge world variations that simply have different layouts, but look the same. Im thinking about going back to Halo 3 since so many of the same maps are constantly played in Reach, especially in Big Team Battle. Halo 4 should have at least 15 maps to start with. 6 of those maps should be available for Big Team Battle. There should also be more value for map packs, 3 maps is nothing, each map pack should have at least 5 maps, 2 big Team battle maps and 3 maps for the other game modes.
  2. They should make all the map packs free and combine all the Big Team battle maps in one playlist. Then you will have 2 maps from the Squad DLC mpa pack, 3 maps from Anniversary, 3 maps from Halo Reach, The 2 Forge World maps which I think look distinctly different so I count them as different maps, Asphalt and Hemorrhage, the rest are just different layouts but look the same. Still, 10 maps is not that much.
  3. They really did? Where? But those maps will just be more Forge maps, they will just have different layouts but it will look the same as every other forge map.
  4. I have logged about 200 hours on Halo Reach, 26 of those being my time played solo on Legendary. I think Im gonna stop playing it soon and focus more on Gears of War 3, the map variety is just getting painfully boring. Halo 4 better not make the same mistake, it needs better map packs and more maps. I might even go back to Halo 3. Well, I will just play Firefight on Reach then once Im done that, never again, unless people who I play with are still playing.
  5. Have any details come out about Forge? It better have a large variety of Terrain this time and some props for maps, different buildings instead of the same old blocks structures.
  6. Anyone here like me and think Halo 3 had better maps then Reach? Not counting forge. Big Team Battle has a lot of forge maps but they look the same, so you can only really count 2 maps for forge in that play list. Then there is Boardwalk, Spire and Boneyard and thats it! Halo Reach has no variety at all. There is that rare time in BTB that your able to play 2 map pack maps in Squad DLC. Halo 4 better have alot of maps, at least 10 maps for Big Team Battle.

I was hoping for a bigger team battle mode at least 12 vs 12 or 16 vs 16. They better make Forge better, its the only thing that could save this games competitive multiplayer in my opinion. They should also add an exclusive Forge playlist that plays a wide variety of user made maps. 1. Forge Needs new Terrain! The generic blocks and grasslands does get old, it needs new props also. 2. Snow Terrain, Mars Rock Terrain, Snow, Dark Wastelands, Tropical Terrain (Palm Trees), Wet Swampy Terrain, Desert, Space PlatForm Terrain to make space maps along with the typical Grasslands. If Forge had all these Terrain options along with some new props to make some diverse looking maps then it would be really fun unlike the generic Reach Forge. So if they don't improve Forge, this game will be a major disappointment. While I like Halo Reach's Forge maps, I don't wanna end up playing the typical blocky/grasslands Forge maps that all look the same except for the Terrain Layout. They need new structures, Im sick of the same blocky boring structures and constant green grass.

  9. Does anyone feel like Halo Reach does not have much map variety? Forge is fun but it gets a little repetitive. All the maps are either that blocky style or some altered terrain with those block structures. I think they need to make a full fledged map editor but if they are unable to do that, at least add some new terrain! Desert, Snowlands, Mars Red Planet Style, Dark Wasteland, Swamps. Tropical Island terrain, Grasslands. It needs more variety. The map voting needs to be re-worked to, instead of having a couple maps to vote for, they should just have a list of all the maps for that game mode so there will be no "none of the above" and the need to start another voting session. Also hope they have a Huge Team battle, 16 vs 16 on dedicated servers. They also need a 1vs1 mode and something truly different. But I fear this game will not be innovative at all, the only new distinct feature will be Spartan Ops. They better at least change Forge! They should also have a Forge Playlist where you only play Custom maps that people have already made and uploaded. Just look at Farcry 2, they had an amazing map editor.
  10. Big deal, some new Coop game mode and tweaks to the abilities thing, The core multiplayer will remain the same. This will be a major disappoint , these games don't innovate at all do they? Now its some boring story focused on Semantics about why Red Spartans fight Blue ones, when a parody of that was already made with RedvsBlue and they are making a serious story out of it now. Are they at least gonna improve forge? Or is that pathetic map system going to be another block building mecca and your only able to change the terrain and build grey block structures. They should have props like houses , buildings the players can make themselves, new terrain settings, Desert, Snow, Mars like Rock, Weird looking terrain on a different planet. But I bet Forge will be the same. Look at Farcry 2's custom maps or custom maps for cs:source, not way they will have a map making system as comprehensive as that. They need to make a real map editor this time. Forge has been done the same in 3 and Reach did not improve upon it much.

I don't know about all of you but when I play Halo Reach I mostly play big team battle, mostly because I always get the tank in Hemorrhage, I love playing with tanks/vehicles since Im good with them. Also like the feel of a bigger battle. But is Halo 4 gonna do anything different? For one, they need to make multiplayer bigger and they need some radical new game modes. Im pissed off that there will be no Elites, maybe forerunners instead? Still, its disappointing. That was an innovation they are taking away, gonna make it more generic like Halo 3? I don't know, I really liked Halo 3's maps though. The Elites really played differently then the Spartans, you felt like you were playing another race. Forge needs a radical re-design, Forge in Reach is good but it looks so boring! All the maps look the same, you can't truly create a new map, only alter terrain and add those blocks, there is no terrain varation, I want Snow Terrain, Red Rock like Geonosis (star wars its like mars) and Desert. They also need to make major improvements to forge so people can make better maps. Now, what will really define the multiplayer is new game modes. I think they should pay more attention to big battles. It should be increased to 12vs12 at least, COD3 did 12vs12, Frontlines Fuels of War was 16vs16, I don't see why they can't do it. New Games mode ideas. 1vs1 Duels Forge maps matchmaking playlist(this would be amazing if they actually improved forge alot) 8vs8 and 12vs12 sometimes 5vs5 depending. 12vs12 Big Team Battle A completely new gamemode with the largest Forge maps designed by the developer, Has dedicated Servers for a MMO like feel, 100 vs 100 multiplayer matches. But my wishes will probably not come true, there will be nothing really different about the game. Just a new engine and flashy new graphics but the core gameplay will remain the same.
  12. Halo 4 really needs some new game modes and some unique maps, they can release a classic map pack from previous games after it comes out. The Forge World map creator needs a big change to, the problem with Forge in Reach is you could never change the the setting, you just made big block structures. Halo 4 needs a snow terrain, desert, reddish rocky terrain, greyish wasteland terrain and the standard forest terrain for their forge world. They need new game modes to. Heres an idea list. 1vs1 matchmaking Giant Team Battle (would be played on dedicated servers) massive 16vs16 battles. Custom map playlist (only custom maps from forge world are played) Base vs Base gamemode where there is an RTS like commander who is able to build a base and gun emplacements , requisition vehicles , the objective would be to destroy the enemies base it would be 16 vs 16 on dedicated servers.
