I havnt read primodium yet but i have seen people posting quotes from it in other forums and in the book is says that the captive (im guessing thats the precursor prisoner) is gravemind which quite interesting can any one shed a bit more light on that?

All information pertaining to Gravemind can be found HERE! The "captive" being a gravemind, or at least controlled by a Gravemind, would make sense as to why the Precursors had him locked away. He also shows similar communication in the form of telepathy with humans/forerunners in Cryptum as Gravemind did in Halo 3 communicating with Master Chief. I haven't completed Primordium but will keep you informed as new information is revealed. The possibility is there.
