Hello

 

I downloaded Halo 5 yesterday and found out about the editor called Forge.

As I always thought Halo was too slow I decided to come up with my own project to speed things up.

 

Currently I am still trying to figure out scripting with Forge, but it is fairly easy to understand. Won't take me long to release this project soon.

 

The basic idea is to speed halo 5 up abit and add true deathmatch elements to it.

 

It is heavily orientated on classic deathmatch games such as Quake and UT

 

Testmap: Fathom

 

Powerup: 2x Speed Boost, 1x Green Armor (2x optional, depending how large the map is), 1x Yellow Armor, 1x Red Armor, Armor shards, Overshield

Respawn timers:

Speed boost in 25 seconds

Green Armor in 25 seconds

Yellow Armor in 35 seconds

Red Armor in 60 seconds

Overshield in 60 seconds

Armor Shards in 15 seconds

Weapons in 25 seconds

 

I am still figuring out if I should go with the Armor system or just a basic 2 or 3 powerup setup that will increase your shield.

I am also planing to add health bubbles.

 

The basic concept of the project is to bring classic deathmatch elements to this game.

There will be no thruster, no shield reactivation, no damage absorbtion. Just like a deathmatch game.

 

As I said I am still figuring out the possibilities of Forge and it's scripting mechanics.

 

Played a couple of rounds solo yesterday for testing and the speed boost allows for some nice slides and ramp jump action.

 

I would like to add some aircontrol, but I haven't figured out yet if that is even possible.

 

I am also not certain yet which weapons to actually implement.

 

I wanted to keep the overall Halo feeling so I will keep the basic weapons as Assault Rifle, Magnum, Sniper aso, but would on the other hand like to add Rocket Launcher, Rail Gun, Binary Rifle (sort of similar to Shaft in Quake) and others.

 

The concept is to add area denial weapons, such as Rocket Launcher, Grenade Launcher aso.

As the gameplay will be alot faster from what you know from basic Halo, the weapon balance is very crucial.

 

Anyway I will keep this thread updated.
