How Does One Merge Two Audio Files Using Audacity?

I want to make a back to back song for a mod (nacho business) and I don't trust anything from the internet. Can Audacity meet my needs? If yes, How is this done, and if no, what do I need to fulfill my task?

So do you need to merge the tracks as in make it seem the tracks are as one?

 

Regardless of program if the sound files are too different sounding it might never work. Using audacity you could have both files on separate tracks and fade one into the other - you do this by selecting a portion of the track and adding fade in/out through effects to each to make them blend into each other. You can tailor how long this fade in and out will take to make it sound seamless.
