Battle rifle skin dlc help

Hi i redeemed my battle rifle skin code and it worked but when i took my hard drive over to a friends house and we played and stuff everything was fine but when i went home and put my hard drive into me xbox i started halo 4 and all my loadouts with the battle rifle were changed into assault rifle so i just thought let me redownload it after i did that i started playing but when i went to the dashboard to watch a movie for a little bit i logged back on halo 4 and my loadouts were changed again to assault rifle so what i need help with is, is why do i have to keep redownloading my battle rifle skin is there anything around it?
