  1. Its no longer about Halo. Halo has become a brand name. :P That, and ultimately, we are dealing with things revolving around Halo. The Covenant seeking them out, and the masters that built them; the Flood, for which the Halos were designed to defeat; and the Reclaimers deciding the fate of the universe.

  2. Yeah, I'm stuck on the Keyes level. One bar of health, limited ammo, and a three story drop through the hanger bay. That room alone has proven the greatest of frustrations. There's always one level in each game, maybe two levels, that are the most aggravating in the entire game. But a lot of it seems to be a health/ammo issue. Kinda hard to punch your way through invincible enemies with no ammo or health. :|

  3. I don't think that many people hated them or regarded them as ugly, per say (With exception to the Halo 1 jackals. oh god). But noting the evolution of species, it is believable that at an early stage, they might have splintered off into a separate species due to climate, but thanks to their culture, or thanks to the Covenant, they came together as a single species. One has to remember, the birds we see today are still very close to the dinosaurs that once roamed the Earth.

That, and 343 couldn't use Bungie's design as their own, and so needed to modify them. What better way than to change them drastically? Think of these reptilian jackals as a off-shoot of the species. There was, in one of the early games, an amphibious jackal concept. (What a dreadful idea)

  4.

Shadow. Not sure if many of us remember Shadows, but you fought several of them in the highway tunnel in Halo 2. They're large, dark purple, transport Ghosts, and have a plasma turret on top. Having those back in Halo 5 would be awesome, at least at some point in the Campaign on your side.
Locust. Scarabs, I believe, are too powerful to make driveable. However being able to drive a locust would be a good compromise. I'll bet it would make a good counterpart to the Mantis.
Seraph*. These are pretty tough opponents in Halo Reach, and would be pretty good for use in space maps.

I agree with all the above. Shadows never got used for anything, which is a real shame. They are part of the resupplying of ground forces, after all. Spirits and Phantoms can't get EVERYWHERE...

Locusts are something I've been waiting a long time to see in FPS games, and would be a great toy to drive around. (Mini Scarabs! ^^)

And Seraphs played a big role in the intro of Ghosts of Onyx, proving to be far deadlier than the Banshees. Now THEY would be a challenge!

In regards to the rest of your post,Seeker of Truth, I agree, too. Instead of the standard Flood we all know and semi-hate, the Pure-strain Flood we see in Infection mode would prove a good change. Flood with armor abilities would be far more dangerous than the standard Flood using the zerg-rush tactic.

  5. I've been playing through the Halo games on Legendary.

    Halo 1 - In Progress

    Halo 2 - Just beat on Co-op

    Halo 3 - N/A

    Halo 3: ODST - Complete

    Halo Reach - Complete

    Halo Wars - Complete

    Halo 4 - Complete

Sorry, accidentally posted and can't find a way to edit. :C

I'm not really sure which is hardest. Each one has their moments.

In Halo 1, the Covenant ship is proving to take a couple weeks to push through. [save Captain Keyes] Low ammo and health.

Halo 2, the jackals did not prove a challenge for me in the least. It almost seemed..... too easy.

Halo 3? Flood sections, definitely.I foresee that.

Halo 3: ODST, later sections of the game, around the area of dead Elites. That portion of the game was aggravating.

Halo Reach had its moments, but ultimately was simple. The very end was troublesome, due to infiltrating the cannon's warehouse with nothing but a plasma pistol. All other ammo was gone.

Halo Wars was simple enough, and took a little bit of planning and foresight. The mission leading into the crater proved frustrating.

Halo 4... anything that involved large numbers of Promethean Knights... and close quarters with them. They loved to blink up to me and gut me.

Looking forward to finishing up the games on legendary and moving on to 5 and 6. I don't think I play the games on Normal anymore...

maybe I should try Mythic next...

  6. The Flood are overdone. Sure, they could be worked in, and work well, but at this rate, every game by ODST, REACH, and 4 have had Flood. And I found it tedious in the first trilogy having to keep revisiting them, despite how well they were written. The plots became repetitive. Flood on a Forerunner structure, fight your way through.

Though the 343 pure-strain Flood could be an interesting challenge, with their armor abilities to "spice things up".

Just don't take us to another Halo...... There's Flood on all of them, and it's been done before.

  7. 1. Sanhelios

    2. Cortana Returns

    3. Arbiter forces vs. Didact/Jul'Mdama forces

    4. Traditional Jackals and Skirmishers alongside reptilian Jackals

    5. Same with the Elites

    6. Introduction of the Locust into FPS games

    7. Prometheans, and Sentinel forces. (They were great to see in Halo 4, but never played a part, sadly)

    8. More Spartans (giving the sense of being just a soldier in the fight)

    9. More Forerunner Technology!

    10. Flood (Traditional, and 343's humanoid purestrain)
