  1. I think that it would be very interesting to bring back Guilty Spark (either as a protagonist or antagonist depending on the circumstance). I understand that he was defeated in Halo 3, but if you read Halo Primordium it is revealed that Guilty Spark is recovered and interogated by the UNSC. At the end of the book Guilty Spark takes over the ship by overpowering the ship's AI.

Introduction: Guilty Spark could use the ship he controls to crash into the UNSC Infinity (where the Chief would be) and take it over. I was thinking this could be the thrid or fourth level in the campaign.

Use in the Storyline: According to Halo Primordium Guilty Spark's main desire is to find the Librarian. He could then state that he has found his location but needs a Reclaimer to access it. Because of Chief's skill and experience with fighting the Didact (who I presume is alive and may be looking for the Librarian himself) Guilty Spark chosses the Chief and essentially becomes his AI. It is a much different relationship though where neither of them trusts the other. For example, Chief might try to activate something that goes against Guilty Spark's agenda and Guilty Spark shuts down his armor causing him to fall to the floor, threatening to kill him if he tries it again.

Final Thoughts: This storyline would allow Chief to have an AI that is nothing like Coratana and would add to Chief's lonliness rather than help it. I was also hoping that at one point Guilty Spark could make a speech something like this, "Do you know what it's like to be turned from flesh and bone to metal. And then be forced to guard over a ring for a hundred thousand years with nothing to do. Nothing! Until finally those that should suceed me arrived. Only to have my ring destroyed, twice! But that is no matter Reclaimer. I must find the Librarian, and you will help me."

Thanks for reading and please post your thoughts.

  2. She did not actually touch the index. She copied the set of instructions that it contains and deleted the original. She then projected the index as a hologram.

Where did you get that from? It sounds like details that are very hard to find.

  3. How about an upgraded version of the sniper Rifle? Like have no scope, 8 shots, larger reticle and 2 hits to take down shield, one to the body to kill.

If it doesn't have a scope how is it a sniper rifle?

Also, the Promethean sword thing that Knights have :D

That would basically be an orage energy sword.

  4. Energy sword. It encourages the player to think creativly.I just love jumping down, surprising someone, and then slicing him with the sword as he turns around going "What?" It is also a guranteed kill, I hate it when I fire my shotgun too early.

  5. My favorite was the plasma rifle in Halo CE. This is relevant because as I never killed anyone directly with it I'd SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT and then... Wait for it... SQWACK! Right in the kisser! It would freeze people in place while you closed the distance. Took down shields fast and opened them up to melee. Easy as pie. But now I'm stuck with game mechanics that don't mirror that play style at all. :(

    Use a plasma pistol.

  6. I know that he has teleported (i'm not that dumb to miss it ^^) - that's why I wrote "imagine if he teleported just by himself". English isn't my native tongue but I believe that this means he would do it without any help from others (Cortana, Spark, Portals etc.); kind of like the Prophet of Regret in Halo 2.

Also I agree that it isn't inconsistent that the Chief used light bridge, my initial problem was just - like you mentioned - that Cortana hasn't "taken a form" before.

Technically she has once before. In Halo CE after you fight through the flood to retrieve the Index Guilty Spark 343 urges you to put in the index, but then Cortana comes from the Forerunner database and snatches it. She actually snatches the object from your hands. Its pretty safe to assume that when she is a Forerunner database she can give herself a physical form of some kind.

  7. My take on a better version of the Flare Cannon: (Forerunner) Flash Booster: It shoots a superheated ball of hardlight energy that sticks to players and surfaces like a plasma grenade. The ball is extremely bright like a flare and it blinds players in a nearby vicinity. The ball drains the health or shields of anybody within a few feet of it. It will kill a person that it sticks to in 3 seconds (unless they have a full overshield, in which case it will take away the overshield in 2 seconds and then drop off of the player), but if it sticks to you, you can see unless it is stuck to your face. It burns for five seconds after it hits something and then the flare goes away. The radius upon which it blinds people and drains health or shields, decreases with each second. It has a one shot magazine and the same amount of total rounds as the sticky detonator. It also takes the same time as a sticky detonator to reload. It has quite a bit of bullet drop.

Sounds like an even more powerful version of Incerneration Cannon. We don't need that. Inceration Cannon is powerful enough.

  8. Oh, and to JackalZealot, they aren't trying to make the elites seem like enemies, Halo 4 elites are a rogue terrorist fleet.

I understand that they are a rogue terroist fleet, but they are still trying to make the elites seem like enemies. In Halo Wars a different Arbiter was the main villian, despite their being a Brute Chieftain and a Prophet in mulitplayer. Plus, in Halo Reach the Elites are the main enemy, killing off many of Noble Team (including Noble Six). They could have easily shown a Brute Chieftain kill off one of the Spartans, or had a scene with a Prophet saying "Kill them all." Then, they remake the Halo CE, where they could have easily included Halo 2. They did that because Halo CE shows elites as the main enemies, without any prophets or brutes.

They want us to forget the brutes and prophets, and get us to start hating Elites.

  9. Every so often they add a new multiplayer mode so here are my ideas for some new ones.

Think Twice - Every player with an ordinance weapon is given a waypoint.

One hit wonder - All ordinances become rocket launchers with 1 bullet.

Lifeless - Respawning is disabled, but there is x amount of rounds.

Close Quarters - All players have either a shotgun with promethean vision, energy sword with active camo, gravity hammer with thruster pack (The one when you are a flood) or scattershot with hologram.

Pistol Fight - All players have a magnum and plasma pistol, or magnum and boltshot.

  10. The reason they didn't make a Halo 2 anniversy is because they are trying to make the elites seem like enemies. Playing as an elite ruins that feel. So if the elites become allies then yes, there should be a Halo 2 anniversy. If they're still enemies then a Halo 2 anniversy wouldn't work.

  11. New Ideas:

(UNSC) RULE Pulser: Remote Ultra Light Electromagnetic Pulser. It sends out a massive blast of electricity the expands horizontally to two times the size at two times the distance beyond short range. It also decreases in damage with the increase in range. It paralyzes foes at medium distance for 1 second, and depletes their shields fully at that distance. It insta-kills foes at short range, but has less of a spread. It has a 1 shot chamber with a 2 second non-automatic reload time and a .3 second charge time. It has 4 shots in full. It also leaves an electric trace for 2 seconds on the ground (unless it was shot at a falling or flying enemy) that slowly depletes shields of anyone that walks over it, keep in mind that the area of this trace increases and decreases with distance from the gun to the ground that it hit. It has an instant hit from the time it fires. It disables vehicles for 1 second at any distance, and at short range it also fully depletes the players' shields inside those vehicles for the normal time.

This sounds too hi-tech to be UNSC. Make it hardlight instead of electricity and make it Forerunner, or Plasma and Covenant.

Take out the trace, and I think it's balanced.

  12. She's technically not dead. Remember that scene where she touched Master Chief? She may be captured now and may in Halo 5 or 6...

    1. Clash with your new new A.I. (If you get one)

    2. Become a villian

    3. Save you again

    4. Never appear again (I doubt this though, they put too much time into her)

Or maybe a combination of the first three.
