  1. "We all know it's overpowered so why isn't it patched already? Stop saying it's fair."

Right. Every time anyone disagrees with you, they should just stop.

    "All players use it"

    No they don't.

    "it's too strong."

Are you sure? What about the DMR? Or any of the weapons. They all kill in under two seconds, you know...

    "'Yeah, you just suck.'"

    Not unlikely.

    "i barely get killed"

Really? Are you some sort of super MLG pro Halo god? I hear even Tsquared gets killed regularly.

"this gun is just a joke."

Wait, it's a joke? Doesn't sound like a joke the way you're describing it. Sounds super serious. Like the fate of Halo depends on it.

"I get tons of kills without it"

    Then what's the problem?

"most of my deaths are due to this op gun"

I wish most of my deaths were attributed to just one weapon, which I could then adjust my style of play to avoid most of my deaths. And I believe you. Most of your deaths totally aren't form rifles. You probably only play on Abandon, and only go up the lift when it's occupied. That would explain it.

"that kills me out of nowhere from miles away."

Picks one of the shortest ranged weapons in the game. Complains about being killed out of nowhere from miles away. Did he snipe you with it from across the map now? Headshotted you with it did they?

"All those who believe it's fair use it"

Yes, that would make sense. You probably use the DMR, like me, which half the people here feel is unfair.

"don't get kills any other way"

    Nope. Never. Toats not.

    "don't even dare annoying me"

Oh no, how could anyone dare. It's not like this thread hasn't been made hundreds of times, and it's not like you didn't make a horribly embarrassing, childish post.

    "boltshot"

Yeah, well I can end my posts with random weapons too. covenant carbine

EDIT: Oh god, his name. His name...

You're a blob. This thread is stating the obvious. The gun is too strong. Stop acting like players can adapt to a one hit kill gun. You practically get a shotgun as your secondary. Remember the last game that made shotguns a secondary. MW2. How did that game turn out?

  2. Nothing to fix. Its an intention game design, and most people don't seem to have a problem with it. So move along folks, nothing to see here

People like this guy ruin first person shooters.

Basically this fanboy is saying he likes starting with a shotgun. The gun needs to be nerfed. My opinion is that the gun should be taken out of the game and whoever designed it should get a nice punch to the face. But if 343 is going to nerf it, then just make it red line you. Its too random of a gun to throw into a Halo game.

This gun creates campy gameplay. Take it out. Move on to making skill based weapons, not scattershot one hit kills guns.

  3. I absolutely love snipers too! I'm glad they had it in the rotation for a little while, but it'll be back and I'm sure that the demand is so high that it will become permanent. 343 has to do things by the numbers for now, so just give it a little bit of time and I'm sure in a week or two it will be back and be permanent.

What does that even mean? "343 has to do things by the numbers?"

How about 343 just explains why they took Snipers out of matchmaking?

  4. No doubles. No Team Snipers. No headshot medal for the snipe. No true skill ranking system. No map diversity (small - big). Not being able to move when I hit select mid game to see players in game. Not being able to search peoples maps. And last but not least, the promethean pistol. I hate 343 for making this gun. They are just giving bad players kills.

These are all the issues 343 needs to address for me to keep investing my time into this game.

  5. Halo 4 Matchmaking Changes: These are my opinions on how to make matchmaking a better experience.

Playlists: Let me start off by saying, I want Team Snipers back. 343 made an update, brought in Team Snipers for a week and then took it out. If 343 is fixing some of the issues with Snipers like a secondary snipe or map selection then I am for it.

Can 343 merge some playlists together? How about 343 takes all objective gametypes (Oddball, Flag, Hill) and put them into 1 playlist. Instead of having 3 seperate playlist with 2,000 people in each playlist. This was something that was in almost every Halo game. An objective playlist. Did 343 really need to change this?

Maps: Can we please have some SMALLER maps. The crimson map pack featured 3 BTB maps. They all have vehicles on them. I want a small symetrical map that creates balanced gameplay and actual BR battles at short to mid range. Every map feels huge because theyve spaced everything apart for sprint. Every map is huge. The only small map that launched with Halo 4 was Haven.

Each playlist has what feels like 3 maps to choose from. I cant even choose NONE OF THE ABOVE anymore when I am voting for a map. You just get stuck with 3 choices and you cant change your vote once you have voted. Youre just simply locked in. Something they have never done in any Halo game.

Add the maps that you launched the game with. There were I think about 3 additional maps that lauched with Halo 4. But 343 decided not to put them in ANY of these maps in the playlist. I do not understand why. The game already feels like there just arent enough diverse maps to choose from. I understand that there needs to be big maps for big team games, where people can drool on there controller and ride around in a different vehicle every time they spawn.

Gameplay: Okay, so there are alot of major issues with the gameplay. I won't touch on all of them, just the ones that really dissapoint me.

Medals: There seems to be a medal for just about everything in Halo 4. Im suprised you dont get a medal for just walking around. Oh wait, you do. You can get a distraction medal for doing absolutely nothing. But my dissapointment towards medals is the lack of a headshot medal for the snipe. I dont get why or how you would leave this out. If youre play testing this game, how do you leave it out? There is a medal for killing someone while they are reloading, but you couldnt add in a medal that has always been in Halo games?

Bugs: Killcams are absolutely rediculous. Theyre not accurate and its not something new. Killcams are in COD, leave them there.

How come when I hit select to view players mid game, I freeze in place? The game isnt smooth. Its jagged and buggy beyond belief. Youre not able to check peoples connections mid game. Why does 343 leave this stuff out? Its been in all the previous Halo games. I understand this is there game now and they wanted to make changes, but 343 is leaving out the little things that made Halo games feel smooth (besides Reach).

Weapons: I like the fact that I can start with a BR or DMR or whatever I want every game now. That is a plus. But when 343 adds guns like the promethean pistol, I wonder if they actually play there games. They made a gun that is a quick 1 shot from close range and its your SECONDARY gun. I remember the last game that made seconday weapons better than primaries. It was COD MW2. We all know how that game turned out. Keep the gun (I guess) just nerf it down to its secondary status.

There seems to be this notion that, the more guns you add to a FPS, the better it is. That is simply not true. I would rather have 3 solid guns to choose from then 20 pointless overpowered guns that dont belong in the game. I want a skill based game with skill based weapons. Not a game where someone can get 1 shot, sprint off, hide around a corner with promethean vision and 1 shot me with a secondary retard gun.

I have made a previous post about these fixes and would love to see what competitive gamers think, along with the stupid ones who think the game is perfect.

You'll notice that the people who think the matchmaking is great are the ones that wanted more Big Team maps with more vehicles.

" I should've know that once the lead designer of Halo 4 said that they made it so ghosts could get through doorways that the game was going to be bad."

  6. Team Snipers has been an option in every halo. Why would 343 make it rotational? At the credits end, 343 states, Thanks for trusting 343 with Halo. I don't remember having a choice nor am I happy with 343. Campaign was pretty terrible but matchmaking changes are appreciated. However, rotating a favorite playlist like Team snipers is irresponsible. Bring it back and have different variants of No secondary weapon, Alien sniper rifle or pistol. Why is this so hard.

Side note: if a company takes over a main title such as Halo, you would think they would preserve as much as possible and change very little in order to keep the fan base. Instead, 343 changed everything but master chief's voice and some of the main weapons. I really do like the matchmaking changes but it would be nice to have advanced the sniper rifle fire, compared to halo 3 instead of keeping it comparible to reach which predates halo 1.

Finally some people who see the glaring issues with Halo 4. Bring it back, add a headshot medal and I will play the game twice as much.

  7. This article was created to try and get our voices heard. If you agree with the article below, please copy and paste it to any website/forum where it can be read by halo fans. The point is to have this article on the internet so much that 343i has to notice it.

Halo 4 as it is now

Halo 4 has set new boundaries for future Halo games. They have provided us with unique forge features that make forging much more easier then ever before. On top of this they have provided us with two solid campaigns. The master chief's story is both epic, thrilling, and even a little saddening. The new Spartan-Ops mode has replaced firefight over all and set a new playground for co-op fun. Finally, of course, there is the ever beloved matchmaking. Infinity slayer, swat, and griff-ball are returning favorites. However, even with all of these new features, there are still many flaws that need to be considered by 343i before the game is perfect. These are small tweaks that should have been considered before-hand, but, should be considered now before it is too late.

    Spartan-Ops

While the new spartan-ops has met my expectations, providing us with a rich story that flows in perfectly with the main campaign, and giving co-op players a new field for mayhem, it has some flaws of it's own that should be considered perhaps next season or even next game. For starters, while the cut-scene episode that you witness every week is original and brilliant, the actual in game gameplay has no link at all. If you set a person up for Episode 1, Level one and then put them in Episode 3, level 3, they might not even know that you skipped any levels at all. While the game explains why you are there, no connection exists between that level and the others. On top of this, there is nothing unique to these missions. Not once do you ever get sent out to save scientists in one level and in the next level have to do something unique such as passanger warthog filled with scientists as fast as you can towards your evac point, with covenant on your hide the whole time. It is always the same thing. Go in, kill covenant and promethiens, and get out. No epic mammoth driving, no pelican driving, no escape scenes. Just killing enemies. They have even recently decided to just take multiplayer maps and turn them into spartan-ops missions! No, they did not do anything cool like add more to the level, they just took the level itself and added enemies.

    Matchmaking

I absolutely *love* the new matchmaking. It has such great potential. However, this potential was not put to it's full test. Do not get me wrong, i still love it. The ability to have custom loadouts, weapon skins, packages/upgrades and specializations is amazing. However, they have not used this all to it's capability. Let us start from the bottom up. The ability to choose your own loadouts is great, fantastic in fact. This idea alone has no flaw. What does flaw is the options they give you. Out of over 30 weapons in the game, 7 primary weapons and 3 secondary weapons are at your disposal. The other 20 are RARELY used. I have used only about 5-10 of the other weapons because that is all you usually come across. The game should have either had 15 loadout weapons and 15 power weapons, or even gone as far as 20 loadout weapons and 10 power weapons. The fact is, we just do not need that many power weapons. Hell, some of them are just pointless, such as the concussion rifle in this game, in all of it's under-beefed glory. Having so many power weapons gives the game a glossy appearance that it is full of bad *** explosions and fights. Yet, as we all know, this is not the case. Providing players with more loadout weapons means there is more incentive to level up, more action going on throughout the ENTIRE match, and more unique and individual load out systems. If they consider this in future games, it would truly put potential to the test.

Yet, even with all this, there is more. Let us talk about something they have the ability to change at any time. Tactical/Support packages. This feature is great and unique to the Halo Franchise. Yet, is there any big benefit to them? Let us all admit, the idea for these came from popular games like COD and BF3. However, it works well in Halo. Yet, in games like COD, the perks are completely game changing. In Halo 4 however, you hardly notice the difference at times. You can sprint infinitely, recharge your shields slightly faster, recharge your AA faster, but it is not that noticable. Even with this not being noticable, it would work well if there were more options. If they refuse to have perks such as increased melee distance, more damage with secondary weapons, having enemy vehicles outlined, or no turret over-heat, they could have still added perks such as faster melee, more damage to vehicles, or less damage from certain genres of weapons. All of these are easy to add to the game through a patch, and game changing.

Now, hold on, i am still not done with Matchmaking. There is still the issue of weapon skins and specializations. When i heard of weapon skins and specializations, i got excited. Finally, a game changing benefit that is visible and easy to notice. Yet... i was later disappointed. While specializations ARE game changing and provide us with unique unlocks, it is way to difficult to achieve them. Specializations should have been unlocked at a much lower level (20-30) so that most players could have access to it. Instead, they placed it at level 50. This would be fine except once you get to level 25 and above leveling up becomes a complete chore. If more players had access to specialzations, the gameplay would change for the better. People would be aiding their team more by knowing they can do better and get more points by being a team player and filling their role in their specialization. Instead, there is a distinct line between people who barely can get on to play, and those who have all day. On top of this all, there is weapon skins. Such a unique feature, but there is just not enough of them in the game. One per weapon is not unique at all and ruins the idea of it all together. Just add more to be unlocked in the game or through map packs and players will be pleased.

I will post about forge later on.

How can you absolutely love the matchmaking? Just because there are loadouts doesnt make the game good. IMO the only good thing about loadouts is that I dont have to start with an AR anymore (even though the AR is actually a good gun now). I can choose BR or DMR right from the beginning. Its people like you who fuel 343's overhaul of an already good franchise (except Reach). That are so many flaws with the matchmaking, its not even funny.

This is my post about fixes Halo 4 needs: http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/21632-a-list-of-fixes-for-halo-4/

  8. I want to start off by saying I think the game has potential, but up until now I feel like I have purchased an unfinished game.

One of my biggest pet peevs about this game has to be the fact that there is no headshot medal for the sniper. This to me is very suprising. How do you play test a game, shoot somebody in the head with a sniper and not realize you didnt get a medal for it? Or just seeing how many headshots you got with the snipe at the end of a game. It brings up several questions to me.Such as; Did any 343 play Halo 3? Are the people that made this game actual competitve gamers? This brings me to my next point...

There was a weekly update for Halo 4 a couple weeks back and when they brought in Team Snipers. 343 then the following week took it out. Once again im confused to what they are doing here. Lets get this straight. You updated the game, put in a playlist, then took it out almost immediately. I hope it just means that they are fixing the playlist and are eventually going to put it back into matchmaking but something tells me they are not.

I do not understand why the playlists are so divided. Why is there not a playlist for all objective based gametypes? Why do you need to have 3 seperate playlists for them? All that does is space out players from playing eachother. Why is there no simple Free For All playlist? (Back to my snipers point) Why is there no Snipers playlist?

Maps. This is becoming a joke. I feel like there are a choice of about 3 maps in every playlist to choose from. Thats pathetic... Oh and lets not forget that the game actually launched with more maps but 343 has failed to put them in any playlist. I want to be able to download peoples maps. I want the option to type in "the pit" and get a list of pit remakes. But looks like the servers are down and 343 cant fix this problem with downloading maps in there search option. Think about it. They gave you a game where a portion of it isnt even accesible. I mean come on. This is supposed to be the follow up from Halo 3. Give me some of those classic maps. The Pit, Narrows, Construct. Give me something that is on that same level of greatness.

Fix your kill cams or just get rid of them. Did you add the killcam to annoy players a little more? This isnt COD.

How about fixing when I hit select to view the players mid game I dont freeze in place?

Show me the players connection in the game. Did you really need to change all this ****?

You catered to the retard 343. There was a part of me that thought you wouldnt do that. That part of me is gone now.

  9. There are a bunch of glaring problems with Halo 4's matchmaking. These are simply my opinions. Feel free to post your opinion about my opinion. Lets start with maps.

There is a total of what... 8 maps in the game. There is no variety to them. You either get a massive vehicle based map made for big team or you get a semi large map made for 6v6. They made IMO, 1 map designed for 4v4 (Haven). I could go on and on about the maps and why I do not like them but my main issue with the maps in matchmaking is that you get 3 choices to vote from, thats it. None of the above didnt seem to cross 343's mind when building the game.

Weapons. Im not going to argue loadouts because I accepted that when they first announced it. I like that I can start with a BR whenever I want. Definately a plus. But some guns don't belong in matchmaking. The promethean pistol? Whoever invted that gun should be banned from Halo forever. You made a starting gun that people can sit around a corner with and 1 shot you with. Dumb. The registration in the game seems janky. Killcams lag and there isnt the same sort of team shooting aspect there was in Halo 3, mainly because the maps are gigantic.

    Other problems:

Why don't I get a medal for a sniper headshot? Why take that out? I get a medal for a no scope now, which is cool. But If I get a no scope head shot I'll never know. There isnt even a place in the after game report that even shows me my number of head shots.( IE; Headshots: 7 ), I guess I have to browse my medals now to know. 343 added all these other medals and stupid voice overs for things you're doing in the game but no SNIPER HEAD SHOT MEDAL? That just shows me that they were not gearing this game to be competitive because 343 employees clearly arent competitive. MORE MAPS. I can't even download people maps. No explanation for that. That was a big selling point for me to buy this game. The ability to see some of my favorite maps from past Halo's. Narrows, the Pit, Ivory Tower, Guardian, Lockout .

I feel like 343 launched this game pre maturely. The game doesnt even allow you to vote for the map that you want to play because you only get 3 choices with no NONE OF THE ABOVE option. They changed so many things that didnt need to be changed. The matchmaking interface. The medals. The fact that in some playlists friendly fire is on and in others its off. That is stupid. Weapon mechanics, such as the sniper. When I get hit by another sniper I get this kick like somebody uppercutted me when I was firing. The game didn't need to be more like COD, it needed to be more like Halo. Halo 2 and 3 were the cream of the crop. The model of Halo 4 should have been the next page in that book. Not the next saga of a failed Halo:Reach Nexuiz COD hybrid.
