  1. A little background, I have been a huge Halo supporter since the original Halo and have turned dozens of people onto the game between the original and 4.

I don't even know where to begin with Halo 4, I guess asking a question like; How do you take a perfectly good game that maybe needed a few minor adjustments in online gameplay and COMPLETELY **** it up? Seriously. I keep telling myself to "give it a chance" and "I'll get used to it" but I keep finding myself just frustrated with these over-thought changes. I'm not going to state everything I disagree with as I have probably lost everyone halfway through this paragraph but I have one issue I feel that I need to bring up for pure stupidity.

Why aren't there weapons scattered everywhere on the map? Scattered weapons promote movement, currently everyone stays in one ******* area and it's boring! How can something so simple be overlooked?

343, please call Bungie for help as you have missed the point of Halo Matchmaking.

P.S. The campaign is great, but it looks like I'll be going back to Reach for Matchmaking.

I 100% agree with you, but of course some d-bag is gonna come say "don't like it don't play it" the guys over at bungie are probably dying inside to what they did to the game, CoD fanboys turned Dev. They don't deserve the name 343
  2. I'm surprised treyarch or infinity ward don't have a lawsuit in the works... This is basically cod with master chief slapped on the cover

I second this. An no "slayer pro" isn't like old halo, not everyone is a MLG try hard wannabe, that's all you will play against in that playlist, we need something so that people that enjoyed halos TRUE form has something to enjoy as well.

Wow. Just wow. Take a look at evey damn CoD game and tell me there is ZERO change. As long as there is noticeable change in the game it will sell because they can claim that its "New" and "Better" than the previous.

How does Sprint take away from the experience? It speeds up the entire game which imo is good.

And thinking of original ideas that people will LIKE is not that easy. You have obviously never tried to think up of something completely original.

sprinting slows it down, as everyone just runs from firefights when they are loosing them, i have 20 clips of it in my fileshare if you want to add me and take a look. It's just run hide run. Thanks to the genius idea of giving players power weapons for camping, which is easy due to the extreme range on BR's and DMR's due to removal of bloom.

Did I ever say there was anything wrong with the weapon spawns? There are times when running out of ammo is inevitable however there are ways to prevent that. As I said before pick up another primary and be more accurate.

Next time you spray think about your ammo.

I'm done you're being a idiot. I just said a while ago I was on a streak, some people don't die every 5 seconds and run out of ammo. It is nessacary this is not CoD

Youre not even complaining about the things actual core halo fans care about theres new weapons and crap in every new halo game most people are concerned that there are not enough game variants in matchmaking not that OMG THERES A MACHINE GUN IN HALO

well if you read my thread you would see that I complained about insta spawns and no weapons on the map.
  6. That's not quite a valid explanation or solution, I don't agree with the whole "h4 is cod" idea but there are a lot of aspects they have taken from, not Cod but rather games like cod (cod's not the only mms) things such as default sprint, the perk centred loadout system, regenerating health. And also things that aren't just cod like mechanics, but generally imbalanced and not needed mechanics, like pro-vision. I think 343 are falling into the trap of trying to cater to a too wide audience, no trueskill rating, rewards for everything (medals for generic kills) it makes new players feel like they are top dog. In another thread someone made a great point, that someone that is genuinely not good at the game can easily achieve a high rank and be matched with high ranking players that are much better, this is unfair on both parties. with a halo 2 style ranking system this can be resolved. You can't as a company try to take on a such a massive IP with a large dedicated fan base, and make such drastic changes to it. You are going to piss off a lot of people.

Is it the same as everyone else? No. Just by taking a glance at it everyone will be able to recognize it as Halo. It will not die until they stop making it or people stop buying it. They have to find a balance in keeping good old features and new ones because sticking with the old will mean the death of any game.

so how does CoD sell 400,000+ copies every year? You sound dumb. They can make new things without biting ideas it isn't hard. New weapons, new gametypes, speeding up the walking speed wouldn't have hurt, but adding sprint and other things takes away from the halo experience that everyone has come to love.

You should try and be more accurate, it could help with your ammo problem. As for the Valhalla example its a huge map...get on a vehicle and kill someone or go scavenge. And even with your primary running straight into a big gunfight usually results in you eating the enemy teams bullets.

are you being paid to be stupid? There was NOTHING wrong with weapon spawns. It was crucial, if you got caught in a jam somewhere on the map there was at least something you could pick up if things got bad. Same goes for nades.

Halo 4 is not a remake. So your example does not fit. They did not REMAKE Halo 3, 2, or 1. They made a NEW Halo. They added new things because if they didnt it would just be an updated Halo 3 game with a new campaign and better graphics, do you really want that? As much as I liked Halo 3 after a couple years playing it I got tired. Just because they added new features does not mean its less Halo.

the reason I liked halo was because it was DIFFERENT, for god sakes, there is a SAW and an airdrop, I am willing to bet everything that if they don't make a few small changes, they will gain new fans, but lose a lot of fans in the process. Halo will die.
  10. So lets re make super mario world and give him the ability to do Kamaehamaeha's... As long as its "fresh" and "new" older Nintendo fans shouldn't complain. You're compliance doesn't mean everyone feels the same way, some people actually liked Halo the way it was, which was Halo. And the way 343 is heading it will be just another FPS on the shelf and lose all star power quicker than you think.

And you're not part of a band wagon?

I like the game, but I don't like a LOT of the things in it. Don't give me any of that if you don't like it don't play it crap, because we're all Halo fans here (hence why we're on a 343 forum). I'm hoping things like damage ratios get fixed (godly boltshot, needler, that promethean assault rifle thing, sniper, incineration cannon, etc.), and the awful killcams that shouldn't be there in the first place, and quite a few other things. I'm not going to stop playing, I still think it's a good game, just it could be sooooo much better.

...and step one should be just getting rid of Flood in general.

And all of your points are pretty dumb. 3 Makes sense, but that's about it. Also, knowing the background behind the story has NOTHING to do with the gameplay itself.

finally we have one person who admits that there's something wrong with the game, that's what these forums are for, and for everyone saying things about campaign, it's fine I never said it wasn't hence me posting in the "Matchmaking" thread dumbasses

I dont need to be a Dev to know what I see....theres plenty of guns to pick up. And I generally have enough ammo in my primary gun to either

A.Get an ordinance drop or B. Kill someone for their gun

Magnum is plenty powerful to kill someone. I have done all these things plenty.

there were 3 guys atop the hill on Valhalla i was by the turret picking them off, ran to the rocks towards red base where BR's one were to my surprise none. I checked the base, nothing, I was forced to man cannon into the madness because of no ammo. Counter that

I know right? Clicking on that invite button took me so long too....Honestly all you have to do is take a look at your screen push a damn button and invite friends apparently its to hard.

There was plenty nade spam in previous Halo's. I personally like reloading faster and I am glad they added that in.

No weapon spawns has so far been fine, there has been zero issues in that department.

There changes have been overall good, theres a few stuff I dont like but as I said, overall good.

oh so you're a Dev huh? How about when I'm on a streak and I can't find any ammo for my DMR and I'm forced to run into combat with a magnum?
  13. I'd be very happy with a "Classic" mode as well. To be honest, that is essentially what I was hoping for with H-4. Of course I don't speak for everyone, but I personally would have been completely satisfied with classic mulitplayer Halo just with a new "polished" look and feel.

  14. And disappoint its fans by trying to appeal to a whole different company's fans? Good job. Mission accomplished. This isn't another thread about CoD so chill out, I've been playing halo since i was 12, I am now 19. This game has constantly impressed me from since I first played it, what this is about is the little things that take away from the experience.

    1. No weapon spawns of any kind. - This is a major problem since this hasn't been changed since Halo: CE, wtf is that all about? One location for nades and that's it? Ordnance drops? Need I say more?

    2. Perks. - Halo was always fun because it was balanced fair gameplay, everyone has the same opportunities, now with these unfair advantages it really changes gameplay, things like quicker reload and unlimited sprint. Even extra frags? You'll here about nade spam soon enough.

    3. Instant Respawn. - No it's not needed and I've never ever heard of any complaints, 5 seconds is not a long Respawn time at all, it allowed players who were overwhelmed a little breathing room, why not decrease it to 3 secs?

    4. Sights & Sounds. - Honestly the menu and weapon designs look like the final product is a beta, I couldn't believe my eyes, The design of the "oh so famous" Battle Rifle looked terrible, I thought I was playing Crysis, and the menus don't really need an explanation, they are crappy and it took me nearly 20 minutes to find out how to invite my buddy's, and find them in the cluster of **** that is a lobby.

These are my opinions, I have a lot more but right now I'm on my phone.
