Why are you so obsessed with showing off your skill? It's not like anyone cares about other peoples skill. It seems like you only want the Halo 3 ranking system for bragging rights, which I find pretty childish.
Just play the game and have fun, you can still show off your skill by dominating people in a match.
Halo is a compettitive game and if you cant track your skill or get matched with players with similar skill level then it gets borring
