  1. Before the flame begins,i was thinking today why all the other halo's except Halo 3 all were unpleasing to play since CE.Not counting for the fact of glitches and OP needler daul weilding,auto-aim.The mere fact it was made for more mainstream audience wasn't the issue. It was the fact that everyone who sucked at CE complained about the pistol. It changed everything.CE was the most balanced Halo and still is.You spawn with a weapon that you can defend yourself with in any situation if your better than your opponet you will come on top.Every weapon had its purpose of depending on the user.Shotgun could take down pistol close range, sniper long etc.Rockets were the only brain dead weapon and they balanced it with long reload time and capacity, but in Halo 2 you spawned with the BR a much dumbed down version and thus brought the beginning of power weapon whoring."I was the first one there so i get more kills then you." doesn't sounds like your really the better player(Lol sword one hit kills that has a homing range on red)Every Halo has followed this collapse. It's sad.I wondered how much the game would have been better if they just re-skinned the pistol as a BR and THEN put that sorry excuse for a secondary pistol that they did in Halo 2.Halo 2 ruined the game because you will always bee short-handed in most situation then being able to defend yourself in all of them. The only weapon that didn't get alot of love was the AR,but it was the best camping weapon next to the shotgun. You might say Halo 2 sold more copies and had XBL...but so what.

  2. Halo has a better story,it's overall better. However, its competitive and fun factors are gone.At least playing COD blackops 2 i can have alot more fun.Ordnance, random map spawns (Can't tell you how many times i've spawned in front of rockets at the very beginning of a match) and some of the armor abilities have ruined it for me.I don't enjoy it.It doesn't matter if i win or lose. That is really sad for me to say.I've been a Halo fan since all those years ago in 2001.343 need to understand.Halo CE and Halo 3 were the best for a reason.

  3. I do like change. Halo 2's change from Halo CE was good change. The change from Halo 3 or Reach to Halo 4 is bad change. That's why they should have 2 seperate playlist sections. Competitive which is stripped down and Casual which can have all their perks and stuff. This way, the game caters to everyone. You just have 1 playlist section only, and combine both Casual and Competitive inside. It doesn't work.

Are you kidding me Halo CE to Halo 2 was a horrid change.Soo many glitches that were completely unbalanced. It is Halo:N00b edition in so many ways.Halo 2 ruined the franchise for a while. It was so popular because it brough Halo to the mainstream so it was alot of peoples first Halo game and it was the first Halo to have xbox live...again..if you thought the boltshot was bad.Halo 2 XBL was the definition of broken.

  4. You sir, are awesome.

Finally someone that agrees with me. Halo 4 boltshot is so overpowered beyond belief. The perks and stuff are all stupid too. Halo should have just stayed at it's roots with no join in progress and no custom loadouts. Everyone should start with the same things.

Seriously, they should just do a Halo 2 multiplayer remake and just keep that. I'd play it so much. 343i should separate Halo campaign and multiplayer into separate games, and half the costs of each.

Nope Halo CE remake should of happened in anniversary.I would welcome Halo 2 if they did it properly the original multiplayer horrible for competitive online and offline.I got tired of people glitching out of the map, standbying and daul weilding needler was more annoying than the boltshot ever will be...the halo 2 needler period.Lets not forget how n00btastic the auto-aim was.The bolt**** just needs the reload glitch taken out and more strict timing and it would be ok, i think.

  5. Well, it really isn't your decision to make as to wether the flood should return or not. 343 never said flood would not make an appearance in the trilogy. What Frank said was they would not make an appearance in halo 4.

The whole point of the reclaimer trilogy are for humans to reclaim the mantle and protect/cure the galaxy from the flood.

Not wanting the flood back is like saying "There were no brutes, drones, or engineers in halo 4, but we don't need that enemy either for the trilogy.

Flood is a big part of the halo lore. Just because the Chief blew up a couple of halos doesn't mean they were destroyed. It just means the infestation was halted.

What if Didact(since he's digitized) directs the storm covenant to release the flood unknowingly, just as a revenge to humans. Humans will need to find that cure like the precursors have predicted.

The Didact is immune to the Composer sir so he can't be digitized. Also there was no cure for the flood ever! it was discovered that the flood can choose who they infect. The humans just thought that they found a cure.Look it up.In the latest book by Greg Bear it is revealed that the flood is a test and the cure was a lie.Yes the flood were a big part of the lore, however it's called the Reclaimer trilogy,It's obvious they are focusing on the expanded universe more. There is so much to fit in with the precurors, forerunner, and ancient humans.Did you ever read the Greg Bear novels? they are still going and they way too much stuff to cover and adding the flood would be trying to clump to much at one time.Of course 343 seems to be cutting the story short and not going into great detail, but im just speculating that they are saving some for the next two games. Not my choice? no it's not,but i've been a Halo fan since 2001 and read all the books to this day and i was personally giving my opinion that the flood would not FEEL right for this trilogy,we NEED something new.For the longevity of the series. Some people would like it,but i know alot would hate it.It's a risky move from a business stand point as well.People would say Halo is unoriginal and couldn't do anything else.It would honestly look that way to alot of people and they are kind of right.Remember this is Halo, if its success contuines we will probably see another trilogy after this one. There it would be good for humans just recieving the mantle and finally putting an end to the flood completely on remaining installations, there it would make sense and Microsoft are still going to put out Halo games if it makes them more money than they can flush down the toilet.I agree i want to see the flood return...but not now. Also there was no cure for the flood ever! it was discovered that the flood can choose who they infect. The humans just thought that they found a cure.Look it up.In the latest book by Greg Bear it is revealed that the flood is a test and it was a lie.

  6. I think the Warthog is realistic for the game.It sounds almost like a race car,but less rumble. The Warthog engine is hydrogen injected, its not like its gasoline or diesel.Beam rifle,AR and the Mantis are my favorite sounds in the game for sure.

  7. Return the game if you don't like it. Nobody is forcing you to buy it.n

Uhm...No matter how much he returns it isn't like he is going to get his money back.Do you think places like Gamestop or anywhere for that matter is going to refund everything? yeah right...c'mon it was Halo 4.5 years since we've seen the Master Chief.I spend almost that much money, alot of people did and i don't blame them.If your any kinf od Halo fan you dished out alot of money for this game.It was Halo 4..and it was disappionting.I won't be pre-ordering Halo 5 and i will wait to i can do enough research if it will be good or not so it will not happen again.343 got me this time. You aren't alone thats for sure.

  8. Halo3>Halo 4.My tier list of the all the FPS Halo games would be Halo:CE,Halo 3,Halo 4,Halo 2,Halo:Reach.Halo 3 was so beautifully done and honestly it reminded me of the proper sequel to Halo:CE.It felt right and it was the only game next to Halo:CE were i played for days straight living on coffee and ramen. It's more balanced than Halo 4 and more competitive.I am not going to say Halo 3 had better playlist because Halo 4 is so young.

  9. Here i would like to hear other peoples strategies that they use. What loadout you use and why. What gametypes you play and maps it seems to be most successful.

    Primary Weapon:DMR

    Secondary Weapon:Magnum

    Grenade:Pulse Grenade

    Armor Ability:Regeneration Field

    Tactical Package:Shielding

    Support Package:Dexterity

This is my main loadout. It is designed to win gunfights.I use it very defensively and always make sure i'm around cover to put myself into a good position so i can use my armor ability.Regeneration Field can give you a big advantage if you practice with it and learn when to use it accordingly. Its start-up is very slow and easily punishabe.I play mosty Infinity Slayer,King of the Hill, and Dominion.Sometimes when i feel like going all out i will dip into some Team Slayer Pro,but of course this does not apply. It seems to do really well on Adrift,Complex and Abandon.Haven seems a bit too aggressive for this loadout.I find i rarely am able to deploy my AA successfully.I try not to play Haven often, but i do i always use this loadout below.

    Primary Weapon:DMR

    Secondary Weapon:Assault Rifle

    Grenade:Frag Grenade

    Armor Ability:Jet Pack

    Tactical Package:Firepower

    Support Package:Dexterity

It's just a more aggressive loadout that takes the advantage of the jet packs mobility and to switch from your long/medium range to close range weapon.Very straight forward.

  10. I don't know if this is the right place to post, but is there anyway to change the Mantis aesthetically to make them look differant from each other, but i know you can change the certain one for a team color however it does change the look.Is there anything i could do for that?

  11. I am ignoring the Audie stuff because I personally dont care about it. Ramble all you want about it, wont make a difference to me.

1: Would you follow your CO's orders if they told you to jump from a plane at 50,000 feet with no parachute or any other way to slow your decent so you would survive the impact? I dont bloody think so. Orders are rightfully disobeyed if they put the soldier, unit and or greater humanity (this is the case for Halo) at unnessissary risk. What hard intel did he have about the Didact? All he knew is that the gravity well of the planet pulled his ship down and there was supposedly a Forerunner running around now. Hmm supposedly is not exactly stong intel if you as me. So what warning exactly would he give Earth?

    "Umm Earth? THE BOOGIEMAN COMMITH!!!!!"

Thats about as creditible as he would sound with what little intel he did have. Heck he had almost no info on the Prometheans too. Odds are the UNSC would just chalk things up to a new Forerunner AI run army similar to the Sentinals and leave it at that. What a great plan that would be...

So John disobeying that order is (to me) more than lawful on his end. Even if it were just to gather creditible intel on the Didact. There is such a thing as incompetence of command and Rio fits that model to the letter.

2: Penalties are for unlawful disobediance of orders, not lawful. Rio's personal feelings and stress unduely influence his choices in this combat command. Right at the begining he starts making bad calls against an unknown force and nearly gets his ship overrun. His ability to command is non existant. Palmer didnt even want him to Captain the UNSC Infinity and as we see in the game, with good reason. The fault lays upon the commanding officer on this one due to his incompetent command. Needlessly risking the lives of his crew and equipment, lack of restraint of ones personal feelings within full visibility and hearing of enlisted personel, poor mission planing (too many unknowns to really make a mission viable).

You can (well at least I can) tell that his only real concern at the end of his scenes is for his own personal safety. His outbursts and lack of leadership in prior missions lead up to this. You can see it in his eyes before you begin the Mammoth mission as he looks out a window. He might have been a fine officer but not a line officer. He ended up becoming more concerned with getting himself out of there than his ship, crew and any actual intel on the new enemy.

3: Was Cortana in the wrong with her outburst, absolutely. Was it wrong to remove her from the system, nope. Was the order for her immediate termination a good one? No I say. I say this because of the amount of data she holds about the Forerunners, Prometheans and any number of other things she picked up along the way. That would warrent isolation until a data mine could extract all data and copy it to multiple sources while not downloading any of her processes (so that she wouldnt survive). Then termination would be in order. Otherwise you are just wasting intel that you may never ever get again. Intel that allowes insight into the Flood, the Covenant and the Forerunners to a degree that the UNSC couldnt imagine with out Dr. Halsey.

Was it practical of John to plug Cortana back into his head? Not really. That is the only fault I find of John's in the whole game. It wasnt the "best" choice I think. He in all likely hood should have surrendered her, but there is one thing holding me back besides the data issue. The big problem is that they are still in a combat situation and they need all the equipment they can get and an AI like Cortana is invaluable. Tossing away valuable equipement is not a viable option in combat and John was heading directly into combat.

4: As for Lasky being on the Mammoth, I am not sure as to why he was there either. However I do have a theory. He directly confronted Rio with his command of leaving for Earth in defence of the Chief. Due to Rio's cracking under the pressures of a combat command I wouldnt put it past him to order anybody objecting to his commands down planet side on a "high risk" mission. Their elimination makes for easy paperwork. Or he could end up leaving them behind at the first chance he gets citing that he was going back for reinforcements and they had enough strength to hold out till then.

Thats just one theory which fits into Rio's personality (or at least the one he displays in the game). Another could be that as XO of the Infinity he is sent to personally oversee ground operations and ensure they efficently progress. Not an uncommon practice to send an XO to do something like that, just look at Star Trek. This is the most likely in any even. That he was ordered down there to oversee ground operations with no intent on Rio's part to have him harmed (though look at his face when Lasky questions him says otherwise).

He is enlisted while Rio is a commissioned officer. Enlisted personel obey commissioned officers because they are exactly that. Enlisted. Thats not to say however that an enlisted soldier has lesser pull than a commissioned officer. Officers (more importantly junior officers) would be wise to listen to their senior enlisted men.

You don't call being abducted and forced into the military under a top secret project comissioned? =P

  12. Very occasionally, when you the target they survive for another second or two before visibly being killed, and in that time they can still fire their weapons, do damage and even get kills.

A Sniper Pro variant without Magnums or the motion tracker would be nice. You can always vote against it, after all: and I'd definitely like to see some Beam Rifle loadouts. The two weapons are perfectly balanced, so players could choose to genuine personal preference rather than worrying they're picking one which is 'worse'.

This post is legit.Team Snipers=Sniper,Magnum and motion sensor.Sniper pro=no motion sensor or magnum.

  13. Are you kidding me? MC had to disobey the order,he knew what he was doing.Master chief in real life is higher rank than captain anyways..Del Rio is an idiot only thinking about his crew and not humanity.

  14. That's just it, anyone that doesn't want flood back is because they find that enemy too hard and annoying. They were the hardest enemy in halo and put off a lot of people.

I have a friend that doesn't even like halo because he couldn't get past the flood missions.

I say the more variety of enemy's, the better. Covenant, Promethians, The Flood, Forerunner sentinels, bring them all on board.

It wouldn't make sense for the flood to return.Yes there could be more on the remaining Halo arrays, but this is supposed to be a new trilogy entirely and it would take too much out of the story,We could be learning something about the reclaimer trilogy but instead they put past enemies in and would have to explain everything. It would be too much to try and all fit it with everything.I love fighting against the flood,it was intense, but that was then its time to move on.It ended with Halo 3 for a reason.I'm a fanyboy as much as anyone, but i know for the sake of the series they need to stay gone.343i need to tweak the promeathean encounters is the only problem with the new enemy class.

  15. Flood are morons in game. They juat stand and shoot,.they do not take cover when being fired upon, they run in a straight line towards you, sometimes they jump towards you so you can fill them with bullets as they fly through the air.

The entire strategem is to use sheer numbers to run at you overwhelm you, hence the name Flood. Brutes in Halo 3 were smarter than flood, and they were idiots. As far as a gravemind being smart and vicious, none of that gets reflected in actual gameplay.

Halo 3 legendary they were pretty smart....and annoying..
