  1. The third option I have thought of i a pre-built solar system in which you can travel all the way across the solar system and build your maps on different planets or rings within the solor system, and the tempurature differentiates depending on how far you are from the sun, and you can select the planets and move them closer or farther from the home star.

Why is that so funny?

Maybe not in this console gen, but for Halo 5 that would be awesome!! Like a solar system with 2 or 3 planets you can put wherever you want, depending the temperature and enviroment style (like the type of plants, rocks, weather, presence of water) of how far you put them from the sun! Modeling the terrain of each planet like in the Far Cry 2 editor, and being able to travel to each other with spaceships from the UNSC/Covenant!! OMG lol. With 25 or 30 players simultaneously, and the possibility to introduce nice objectives stuff for 15 vs 15 like blowing the hole planet from the enemy team (maybe like the Assault game mode but much more epic )

Wow, I think your idea is great BigMartin58, the more I think about it the more I want it!

  2. Dont like the forerunner vision or whatever its called. Reminds me of the UAV's in Ghost Recon FW where you can see through all walls to where they are. I was expecting it to be very close quarters but you can see through the entire map.

Don't like the sniper. Too long in between shots. Sure it may be more realistic or whatever so you can't just snipe right after another but I liked that in Halo games..

Don't like ordinance drops. Reminds me completely of care packages in cod... i just feel like it doesnt belong in a Halo game.

Yep, those are my same thoughts. Forerunner Vision looks overpowered, the sniper is like Wall.E and not Halo style in terms of shoot cadence, and the thing with the ordinance drops... when I first heard about it I thought it would be like randomly on the map dropped power weapons and shields (so people can't spam on the points they appear). Now that I see how it works on videos, I'm kind of dissapointed. Giving more powerfull stuff to the skilled people? Hmm...

  3. Nedia the only reason they don't do realistic blood is because of people who are not well known to blood, and looking at that picture above me is killing my stomache right now so I don't really care about the blood, I have to go now, maybe to the bathroom......

    Sorry TheDarkestHour :P:

I personally think that Halo 3's blood should be re-introduced. Reach's blood wasn't that bad but I think 3's was a lot better. Now, from the images provided I can see that the blood looks similar to Reach's which is kind of disappointing. They seem to be copying a few things from Reach. I really think they should of made some new blood systems rather than copying previous games...but whatever floats their boats.

    Exactly my opinion!

Could they use the REACH blood as a placeholder for the E3, working meanwhile on a new and better one for the release?

  4. By the time that blood comes out of the opponent, i already turned around to shoot the next one, so i don't care too much. I agree though, based on those images, Halo 3's blood did look better

I think that if 343i really wants to recycle the blood effect from a previous Halo, they definetly should pick those from Halo:CE or Halo 3! The ones from Halo: REACH were not terrible, but for me they looked a little bit too much like a splatted strawberry pudding rather than blood. Not liquid at all. Halo 3's is maybe a little bit too liquid looking, more like blood mixed with water.

A combination between both would be perfect! I just saw a really nice blood effect in a video from Madonna:

Wow, amazing! Great color and number of drops, with a bit of light reflecting, and you can perfectly tell where the shot came from!

  5. Hey guys, I just noticed in one of the MLG videos (awesome stuff, by the way!) that the blood looks exactly the same as in REACH!

    Halo 4 MLG footage video:

I really wonder about that because I always thought that the blood from Halo 3 looks much better

With much more details and contrasts, in my opinion.

Do they possibly use the blood style from REACH as a placeholder, working meanwhile on a better blood effect for the final game?

  6. Most of the time, non-native English speakers write better than native English speakers!

They confirmed a mix of the two ranking systems. I personally see it as this:

You have an overall Spartan Points rank. It's a rank that goes up like the rank in REACH. It is used for your unlocking abilities such as unlocking armor, weapons, or Armor Abilities. Then you have individual playlist ranks. These are just like the ones in Halo 3 for each playlist. I believe that is all that has to be said for this to be perfectly understandable.

That is simply how I think it would be.

Thank you, I was one month in Ireland so I had the chance to improve it

The system you describe would be OK, I think. But it would be important to give the purely online focused stat/rank more visual presence than the one with Campaign influence at the online matches, per example like this:

    3450yhf.png

Being the upper (and bigger!) number purely Online based and the other the Campaign oriented. So the player can know with one look if the other ones are good and experienced at online matches or not. Because thats the point I think REACH missed...

  7. SInce 343 showed the Multiplayer footage, I keep remembering the really bad ranking system in Halo: REACH. The system in Halo 3 was simple but very good, with nice medals and a numeric ranking from 1 to 50 in order of how much experience you have in the Multiplayer mode. But in Reach, they made a strange mixture betweeh the Campaign and Multiplayer stats, not allowing to really see with one look if the other player is a good and experienced online player or maybe just a bug spamer from the campaign, so the ranks kind of loose their value...

What do you guys think about that??

I really really hope Halo 4 is going to be more like Halo 3!! And sorry for my bad english, I'm from Spain :blushing:

  8. I want slightly destructable environments. Maybe not all physical, but put a dent somewhere, or something like that. Toss a grenade or two to destroy a barrier, or put a hole in a wall, but not entire walls and buildings. Ruins map flow.

100% what I would like to see in the game.

  9. Canonically speaking (not even sure if thats a term), I think there shouldn't be fall damage. Reach and CE had fall damage. 2 and 3 did not. With Mk VI, there was no fall damage. Simple as that.

    Wow, you're right!

For me, fall damage is fine, but not as strong as it was in Halo: REACH. Jumping between different height is part of the fun in Halo, and they kind of ruined that in Reach.
